ICC Cricket World Cup 2019

Underwhelming batting. For cricket's sake I hope NZ don't make another final anytime soon.

A rollover definitely isn’t on the cards right now.
I understand the apprehension from the India game, but this is a different kind of pitch from what we have seen so far and the English top order arent nervy pokers of the ball ala Rahul and DK. They'll attack from the word go and put the Kiwis under pressure. The run scorers are also evenly distributed in Roy, Bairstow, Root, Morgan, Stokes and Buttler. It's not the case of 'get Rohit and Kohli out and the game's over'.

England have a long tail and a middle order that hasn’t really delivered during the chase. Australia also defended 240 here couple of weeks back against NZ.

I don't think it's an easy pitch to bat on. Did a bit up top, got a bit easier, and then looks to have slowed up as the innings has gone on.

Think England have bowled well and NZ have batted poorly too, but think this is more than enough in a final to make a game of it.

Think it will be a tough chase tbh.

Doesn't look especially easy to time it when it's dug in.
Will depend on how well NZ start their bowling. If they can get 2,3 wickets early like against India, they have a chance, but if not it will be over very soon. Tbf NZ are the worst of the 4 teams that made it to the semis. They were lucky in the group stages and played a great game vs India but at the end of the day, the gap in quality is there for all to see and IMO it will be very clear after the England chase. I'm not saying this will be a walk in the park for England, but I don't see NZ troubling them

Heard all this nonsense when they played India.

Both teams have to bet, let's see.
This is horrible batting irrespective of how good they ball. Don't know why both have to be inter connected. I am all for cautious batting and building the innings but not this way. The way they are batting it seems like NZ don't even know how to bat. They are not able to hit one shot properly.

Why is 240 being considered a good score? England knocked off 223 in just over 32 overs against Aus?

If England bat sensibly, as they did against the Aussies, they'll comfortably chase this down.

Stating the obvious, but Kiwis must take early wickets to have any chance. If Roy & Bairstow get settled, this game won't last very long.

22 runs off last 5 overs at the death. Superb bowling.

30 extras, tied with KW as their third top scorer. Take that out and you will it becomes clear how poor NZ have been and how good Eng have been

Ducking the last ball summed up their batting

Ha. I thought they'd get to 300..

NZ batted poorly.
England bowled well
The pitch slowed down too.

England heavy favorites at this point.. See off the new ball and it should be easy.

I've got this awful feeling that England are so convinced their success is based on 'playing their game' that they're gonna ruin their chances in the first ten overs.

They could tap these.

Just pessimistic England fans and other dumb cricket romantics who believe all this 'pressure of final adds 50 runs to the total' nonsense. According to them England will be chasing 290 now.
