ICC Cricket World Cup 2019

Ben Stokes shouldn't be a cricketer. Earlier, I think they had him down sprinting at 28kmph which, considering was over just 20 yards, is quite quick. I don't think he's particularly great at bowling or batting but his athleticism is incredible. Weird he chose cricket as his sport.

Some games I’ve watched him even when he’s not batted or bowled that well it’s almost felt worth it him playing for how good he can be in the field.

Saffers batting is really crap.

His batting is good, and hopefully after a top score today he'll improve further, but I agree his bowling isn't the best and it's his fielding that sticks in the mind.

Also Amla is a weird ODI batsman. He's got all the great numbers but somehow I don't think he'll ever be counted as world's best.

Guys like 6"2,/6"3, built like a mini tank, fast as feck, has incredible reactions yet plays cricket. He could probably play a multitude of sports at a professional level.

Its probably cause hes associated as a "test batsman". Hes a really, really good ODI batsman.

Oh for sure, he’s a fierce competitor too surprises me he doesn’t play something where he can let it out more

I think the change in the pace of ODI cricket did for him a bit. At the start of the career he was very good, and then suddenly he became a player you never really minded scoring runs against you.

Case in point, he has two t20 hundreds and they both came in losing causes. If Amla gets big runs in limited overs cricket someone else probably can get them quicker.

England sending out a proper message here . All the pressure today, had to bat first and then had a bad start but still managed 300+ despite no one playing a blinder and now a very good performance in the field

That's harsh. Cant remember the exact numbers but he averages around 50 with a strike of 90. I'd say hes surrounded by a bunch of average players. AB aside, the rest of their team hasnt impressed in ODIs.

Despite Archer's bowling, I suspect Stokes will get the MOM here for all his truly all round performance in all 3 disciplines.

Stokes has had a good game. Top score with bat, great fielding and and awesome catch and mopped up the tail.

Everyone talks about pitches but one of the main reasons that England have made 300 easy is the batting depth , still not so easy to do if your 8-11 can't bat much
