Very relaxed from India so far, I know Kohli wants the strike but they should have got 2 from that second to last ball.

9 runs off that over but sill this is nonsensical tactics. Even when Dhawan and Rohit used to take their time, in general the RR hovered around 4 for first 10 and then at least one batsman would take off. Now these two have taken too much time to get set and put pressure on themselves to make it count. Not winning this. Big defeat incoming.

Worst things is, even with this (impending) defeat, we'll most likely stick with these tactics.

One of Rohit or Rahul has to attack from the start. Most of the time, Dhawan only batted slow for first 5 overs or so at best and then used to attack.
 
What’s with all the accusations of fixing in the last couple days? Has the summer window finally pushed the caf off the deep end?

Nah, would have put too much pressure on him. Rahul can bat quick he just seems to be playing for his place in the team right now. But this is pathetic batting so far. Even if we win this somehow, this is not the way to chase 300+.

With these two in, they should see India across the line. The required run rate isn’t that excessive and they can exploit the short boundary like Bairstow eventually did.
 
Admittedly, if India are to win this match this is the partnership that will win it, but at the same time, they’re really heaping the pressure on themselves.

Yeah fair enough. I was big advocate of having Rahul open for this tournament. fecker is proving me right with every ball he faces.

This has put too much pressure on any new batsmen. These 2 will pretty much now have to play perfect innings having put us in this situation.

Yeah that’s the key is them staying in for a long while. But there’s probably no other two batsman you would want in this situation.
