ICC Cricket World Cup 2019

Lot of difference chasing 338 and chasing 350 or plus makes psychologically . Good restrictive bowling by bumrah.

Only positive about this chase is we don't have much pressure as we're in a good position.

Bumrah is phenomenal. He must be playing on a different pitch from Shami judging by the replies to me above.
Nope. Bumrah just happens to be an incredible death bowler. Shami isnt..

If teams go slogging, especially with the boundary on one side being under 60m, Shami is going to struggle.. Its high risk-high reward.. That's why he gets the wickets too. Fair trade off.. Not a death bowler.

Bumrah is the best bowler in the world... He bowled 5 overs of the last 10.. Fast bowlers dont often bowl 5 out of the last 10.. Bumrah is a freak.

Shami bowled some absolutely filthy balls but Bumrah made up for it. Pretty sure India would have taken 336 after the Carnage in the first 15 overs

Massive tactical mistake by England in the middle. Buttler batting higher up would have forced India to use up some Bumrah overs . Root on the other hand allowed India to get away with Pandya & spin while holding Bumrah back . Should have got 360-380

Unfortunate that you're 6 short of that magic number in cricket.

:D

India should use England's Sam Allardyce tactics (narrow the pitch, play long) to their advantage. Don't panic as bowlers cannot take wickets on this tarmac, batsmen can only hand it to them on a platter. Looking forward to watching how they handle this. Makes a change as I usually want them to lose.

Agreed. Shami has not been bad, he just had the proverbial game of two halves. Good in the middle, poor at the death.

Will be very interesting to see who opens, don't think Rahul is fit to open. If Pant opens, he can take the game away from England very quickly. At the same time India can easily be 0/1

Stokes has won the match for england.

Nah supposed to be a flat wicket with short boundaries. India can get this. Bangladesh have shown that chasing 300+ isn’t impossible in the World Cup

When was the last time India chased 330+? Will be near impossible without Dhawan at the top.

5-fer..
wicket machine
That said very poor bowling at the death by Shami though. He and Bumrah were night and day those last 6 overs. Shami was far too expensive but took wickets Bumrah very economical and kept the scoring in check single handedly.

Think that whomever batted first was going to win this match and that India won't chase this. With that said, I think India can take positives from this innings as I believe any other bowling attack would have conceded 350+.

Last 2 overs by shami was poor. India would be a tad disappointed for not restricting them under 320 especially considering Bumrah was phenomenal. Having said that after 25 overs it seemed england would have score 360 so india would take it.

On this pitch & ground with the England attack and India not being under much pressure it shouldn't be that difficult tbh . The boundary on one side is just ridiculous

Haha wow look they're making fun of Nasser. So unique. Hes a better commentator than literally any other Englishman.

There was only that Roy glove that should have been reviewed, dont remember any others (mind you that cost 50 runs). Although it's been more of an issue in previous matches.
Yup was kind of a general comment. There seems to be some confusion as to who makes the call.

A chase this big will be hard for any side. That's why the toss is so crucial.
