Why would you give a seamer the last over when a spinner is what they would fear
Great win for SA, India's weakness in their bowling exposed there at the end. Very good conclusion to an entertaining match.
Ok I take my words back. Nehra is pathetic.
Nehra, Patel and all our batsmen bar Gambhir, Sehwag and Sachin should hang their heads in shame. We'll qualify anyway but pathetic, gutless display.
Yet again a memorable innings from Tendulkar wasted...maybe he should have a chat to his bowlers before scoring centuries...that's twice his tournament they've wasted his scores.
Great chase by RSA...people talk about choking, and they very easily could have again, but Peterson...wow.
Our batting's been great for 2 years man, but that was with Raina powering it in a lot of games(and admittedly, an Yuvraj Singh who was a lot more dangerous), but it won't collapse like that again.
I can't see us winning this world cup. Sometimes your batting will fail and you'll need your bowling to bail you out, like England's did against SA. And I can't see ours doing it. Sachin and Sehwag can't keep piling on centuries every game.
We'll lose the quarters or semis IMO when our batting finally doesn't do the job and our bowling of course won't be able to defend it.
I think mathematically our best hope is finishing 2nding now(if we beat Windies).
A pretty high possibility of NZ finishing 3rd -- in the case that Aus beat Pakistan and SL beat NZ.. they'll be likely tied on pts and NZ ahead on NRR.
I think that is our best chance of winning the thing with this bowling.
bunch of twats...should have scored atleast another 50 runs in the first place
what did you Indians make of the comments Dhoni made? He basically called out the Indian team in public.

It was a little amusing in hindsight I must confess. You have the best collection of power hitters any team can boast of in Yuvraj, Pathan and Dhoni and they all come in and out like it's a revolving door.
Btw, my memory is fading a bit, but has Dhoni's batting really dropped since his great start? I think he averaged 50 or 60 for a good bit after he started in ODI's. I don't remembering him doing much in recent times. Used to be so explosive.
I didn't see the presentation ceremony, what did he say?

He said the players need to realize they are playing for their country, and not the crowd. Stop trying to please them(with big shots) and concentrate on what the match situation demands of them....
fame, money and captaincy have made dhoni docile! somehow he thinks being captain means he should be "mature" and thus doesn't smash the ball over the place like he used to earlier and tries to take singles and generally stick around.
It's got nothing to do with fame and money -- he's a very down to earth sort of guy, not like Yuvraj, Harbhajan and others. As captain, he can't afford to go out there and play like Dave Warner, he has to play with a bit of responsibility. A few poor performances while swinging his bat like a mad man and the press will be baying for blood questioning if we should have a captain who can't have a decent average.
So what's the deal with your username? Are you laughing at rooney? and why?
No not laughing at Rooney, my name is 'Haroon' but mates call me 'harooney'. When I signed up for the Caf it wouldn't let me register that so I had to put the underscore in.
I'd usually agree but cricket is the only team sport where one individual can make a huge difference on their own.
2 amazing innings by Tendulkar in a semi and the final and India win the WC.
