ICC Cricket World Cup 2011

A few rupees to the inspector and his team will resolve any issue.

England beat Canada but they've now decided to shove KP up the batting order for the WC. Might not be the worst decision in the world but why didn't they try it in the 7 games they had in Australia? Poor management imo.

I think the conditions may have something to do with it, the pitches are much slower on the sub continent so they'll want KP in early when the ball's still firm.

Too much is expected of Bangladesh in this WC.

it seems that the next world cup will be cut down to 10 teams, it definitely sucks and a blow for associate nations. Living and personally playing cricket in Canada, so much has changed in the last 10 years, more teams/players, more leagues, more interest and awareness, more grounds, youth cricket (still minor, but something I never got to enjoy, but lots of interest in it, especially from parents). Canada's putting out a young team to gain experience, so that they progress and do better in the future, which includes other world cups. I understand the need for better competition and the sympathy of lop-sided games, but its all for the better and improvement of the game, especially the rising and associate nations.

Nice to read a Canadian insight.

I think it's a dumb move by the ICC. In fact, everyone seems to think it's a dumb move except ICC themselves.

Not really....obviously the random fool hopes for too much, but those who follow the team at all know, our matches of real interest are Ireland, Netherlands and the West Indies.

The other matches are a complete write off. As for today, Nervous as hell...not sure what to hope for, I'm a bit tired of hoping for honourable defeats, but then again this is India, the prohibitive favourites for the tournament.

Reading articles from the different media outlets online.. a lot of talk about how Bangladesh are expected to make it to the next round.

WI may be ranked below them, I think they're a better team. Bangladesh will have to make home team advantage count.

It's revenge time baby.

I like the way we've gone about it. Dhoni's bored every press conference into submission by downplaying the hype. There seems to be more expected of Bangladesh than India today.

I want Bangladesh to do well, but they can get their act together from tomorrow onwards.

No Ashraful.

No Nehra, Raina, Chawla, Ashwin for India.

Surprised India playing 3 seamers. Not sure it's correct.

I have a massive soft spot for Bangladesh.

Potentially dew. They probably figured Dhoni's got no chance of winning the toss. He never does. Spinners might find it difficult to grip the ball.

What a way to start the WC. Sehwag starts with a four...

One of the best players of this generation.

I love Sehwag.
Fantastic to have him fit for a major tournament after a long time.

The start Indian batsman have given has dampened the atmosphere.

They're really loud as soon as a few dot balls are bowled. Great atmosphere.

What is Sehwag trying to do against the spinner? Some funny batting this. It's like he spent the morning at the bar.

hopefully they shift it to delhi.

It will stay at Mumbai

Been hearing tickets going for 15k in the East Stand which is quite a lot! Can't imagine how expensive the North Stand would be

What the hell was that. Typical of Indian batsman to prod forward lazily but not trust the guy running to the danger end.

Good thing Raina's not playing. Seems half the pitch's acting up. Keeping low and spinning for left handers.

I thought Sachin ran blindly thinking the ball would run to deep mid-on...credit to the fielder.

Sehwag will be devastated.

He seemed to be running blindly, but Sehwag should've called no. Just turned his back and Sachin was ball watching.. amateurish.

Those two together have never been the best at running between wickets. Simple calling by either batsmen would have made a difference there.

Sehwag sticking to his word so far, playing innings with controlled aggression

They have a female commentator on DD
The world has gone mad

I could watch Sehwag bat forever. It might only be the bangla attack, but irrespective of that undoubtedly one of the most (if not THE) most destructive batsmen in the game. So strong with great balance. 350+? it's on the cards.

Edit: for fun

I really enjoyed India's innings.

Officially back in love with cricket.
