Ibrahimovic played much better football in the first half on Wednesday than Berbatov did in the whole of two legs combined. Incidentally this is the only time Ibrahimovic turned up in the two legs.
For the record, Ibrahimovic is a gifted player, his abundant quality is there and is world class. He lacks the mental application though especially when the going gets tough.
Agree.Zlatan is on a different level of skill to Berbatov, I thought that was common knowledge.
Zlatan requested and got the ball, and tried to create something throughout the two matches. Berbatov is very good when he is on the ball, but he doesnt get on the ball much. He doesnt get involved as much as I would like him to. He was terrible in the two Inter matches because he was almost not there. Zlatan's shooting was a mixed bag, he took some wild shots which made him look worse than he was.
If Zlatan was playing upfornt for us with Rooney, Giggs and Ronaldo, we would have murdered them. Absolutely murdered them.
Torres, Rooney and Ibrahimovic (if you have to play all 3) would be about the best combination you could pick in world football. They'd have just about everything you could want from your front players.
To pick Ibra ahead of Etoo is madness
Moves from rivals Juve to Inter, is a class apart in their league and is the key to his club dominating the league but is mediocre in Europe. He is their Cantona

Why? What Qualities does he bring to that trio that Rooney and Torres dont bring? Ibrahimovic brings more to that selection.
Tonight he singlehandedly delivered us a win
What a shit performance anyway, I've been yawning for the whole game.

He can't do everything on his own for Inter in huge CL games even though he almost nearly did but the fact that he does it in his own domestic league and is winning titles just shows how great he really is.
I expect everyone to think he's "overrated" this and that after the two ties against Inter but to be honest, he's just top class and even played well in his last game against us.
It will continue to happen until he scores a goal or does something vital in a win in the latter stages of the champions league. It doesn't matter that he played well, created the best chances, linked the play superbly and was unlucky not to score. It's unfortunate but with the hype surrounding him anything but winning with brilliance leaves people dissapointed. There was a bit of chat on ITV4 about the game and he was referred to as "the hapless Ibrahimovic"....
It's funny because the difference between him being a top player and "overrated" for all these people was him hitting the bar instead of it going in. At least we can see through that. Also the fact that he wins Inter Serie A titles shouldn't be lightly regarded, no overrated player wins that Inter side the league (who aren't even that good).

Was not a great game really, you probably deserved to win. Genoa have a tiny bit of breathing room now but it could have been much worse if Mutu did not stage that comeback against them a couple of weeks ago. Is there any specific reason why you were wearing that kit at home by the way?
No it's not.
The difference between being a top player and being overrated is consistently doing it against the best of the best, and just doing it against the best of the rest.
Ibrahimovic played well enough against us over the two legs, but he's consistently performed below that level against top teams time and again.
And he's one of your favourite players?
Crazy.
He's one of my favourite players too. Just because he hasn't done it consistently in the big games yet, doesn't mean his incredible talent cannot be admired.
I don't understand how you can have a favourite player, definitely not one who plays for a different team.
Bizarre.
Well, he is one of my favourite players outside United, like Kaka or Maldini. I don't see anything wrong with that.
How bout if the player plays for your national team?
Zlatan is also one of my favourite players, mainly because he's swedish.
He's been very unlucky in games against top teams over the years. He definitely showed up in the Euro's where he played great and scored against Spain.
He's one of my favourites because he can do things and does things no other players do.
If he played in the prem he'd be described as "world class" and "one of the worlds best if not the worlds best" the same way they wank over Torres.

Yeah, but you're odd like that, you do have favourite players and I know that, but it makes some sense because you don't really support anyone. Doesn't make sense to me that
Probably.
Why not?
Zidane was my favourite player and I'm not French neither did I support Real or Juventus.
I'm pretty sure you can have a 'favourite' player regardless of supporting that club, you can admire the talent that player has.
I support my local team, attend games or listen to them on the radio. I however watch the big three leagues and form my opinions on players through that. Everyone has favourites. Everyone has players they like more than others it is the same in any sport, any walk of life, personal preference and all that.
I've seen enough of Ibrahimovic to have been a fan of his for years. I have loads of favourite players, there are alot of good players in the world.
That's where I'd draw the line you see, which is why I said Maldini's understandable.
Admiring players is something I do plenty, but that's a big leap from having favourites.
Yeah, and that's what I was saying, you're weird like that. You have favourite players because they're good, that doesn't make sense to me and it's not how your average fan would choose their favourite player.
For example, Carragher's a favourite at Liverpool, or Terry at Chelsea, or Anderson for us, despite them not being the most talented players in their team.
A favourite, for me, has to go further than that.
Naturally, favourites at my own team are like that. I have favourite players at my own team. They arent always the fans favourites but i like them the best.
When i watch other matches the fan favourite doesn't have an influence on me, i watch the player for what they can do on the pitch. It's easy to admire players of exeptional ability, the players i like the most are play makers really, that is why Ibra is one of my favourites. Players who can play passes you don't even know exist.
This is where I'm getting confused here, people are using the word admiring as if it means the same thing as being your favourite, so I don't really understand.
I admire great football outside Manchester United, but I don't for example have a favourite team outside Manchester United. The same applies for great footballers, I admire them but I don't have a favourite player.
I still don't understand how it works.
