How peaceful is Islam?

 still better than a study from 1994 dude! And dont bet on it, am very criticial about Pakistan to my friends

. It has been raining here since October. Its enough to sway anyone's opinion on the area tbh.

And yeh, it is dated.

Of course it's the problem. You have an agenda, you do a 1 min google, post the first thing you see and think it's fact. There's no debate to be had with that kind of laziness and ignorance.

The guy yesterday had good intentions, and he made some valid points in another thread (which weren't about Islamophobia but about the ramifications of colonialism).

Always best not to make assumptions.

Shivab had a good point about the bias in the thread title but he didnt really help himself by saying you cant debate about religion at all. Thats exactly how the mullahs manipulated Islam, by making sure no one questioned them.

Funnily enough, I didn't really read his posts here. But in the religion thread he made some great points about colonialism amongst other things. And like I said, he had good intentions.

Some reading on the anti Jewish conspiracies. I've literally taken the first link and had a quick scan so its probably not extensive.
These are conspiracy theories that allege Jews are doing something nasty in secret. These exist, of course, because of anti-Semitism.

An anti-Jewish conspiracy would be groups of people conspiring against Jews to achieve their anti-Jewish goals via some cunning and insidious means.

He wanted to shut down the thread and ban people! Those aren't good intentions.

Erm....

OK. Groups of people conspiring against Jews to achieve their anti Jewish goals....

Like the mass murder of Jews? The enforced religious oppression of Jews under other faiths, the never ending displacement of Jews through history. Stuff like that?

Never happened...

How do we know that God didn't arrange for Muhammad to marry a little child as a test for mankind? When each person dies, and is judged, those that follow their conscience and speak out against pedophilia will be saved, and those who defend the obvious wrong will be sent straight to hell? Man has been given free will has he not, to choose between good and evil?
Man have been given free will, or so I thought. Have you noticed though that evil acts are not evil anymore, they have been renamed the "will of Allah". Great attempt at a cop out, but methinks it won't carry much weight with Allah.

I'm sorry, but this is pure garbage.

There are irrefutable instances of the closeness of Abu Bakr (RA) and the Prophet (SAWS) long before Aisha (RA) was even born. There are reams and reams of it, in fact.

And there are political marriages, but this definitely wasn't one of them.
They were good friends - for sure - but a royal marriage still might have been needed. Especially at a time, when Muslims were getting more persecutted and just a couple of years later they had to leave Mecca. On other words, Abu-Bakr had to swap his position from a powerful leader of a tribe to a refuge.

Of course, I am just speculating, but it screams a royal marriage. Please don't say to me that it was because of love. 53 years old Muhammad with 9 years old Aisha.

We're arguing definitions here. All those things did happen but it wasn't a conspiracy. Hitler did not lead a conspiracy against Jews, he declared them enemy number one and committed genocide when he acquired power.

But it's wildly offtopic.

Its all part of the same thing. An irrational and frankly dangerous hatred of a group of people.

Hitler believed those conspiracies though. It was because of these lies that he built his irrational hatred.

I don't think I can quite believe how anyone with the physique of a 9 year old girl can be considered an adult by a sane person.

They've been peddling sillyness forever. They don't even have boobs anymore.

That sort of shit really should be harshly punished in my opinion.

Im not christian but this is a christian country. I see more mosques than churches these days. No need for more. I saw someone conplaining the fact they dont have a prayer room at university. Dont go university and study at home then.

No need to be so needy of others.

Russia are doing a perfect job. Time to join them.

This is the dumbest thing I've read in a long time. It reads like something you'd see on Britain First's FB page.

Pretty sure it is a secular country, and pretty sure there is no Western European country which has more mosques than churches these days.

Agree for not having a prayer room at uni. Secular country, go pray at home or at some religious building, not at uni.

In what sense are Russia doing a perfect job?

There is literally a state religion in the UK.

It's not secular. The monarchy upholds christianity. Again like to say im not christian. The religiom i follow has 5 bases in the whole of central london up to Hertfordshire. Why some religions need a base in every town is beyond me.

Assuming he means the UK, @Sir Matt is correct that Christianity is the state religion in the UK. The monarch is officially the head of the state church in England.

I know that Monarch is also the head of Church, but didn't know that UK isn't a secular country. Nutters, the lot of them!

Shit. I didn't even know that.

Time for UK to join the rest of the civilized world then, I guess.
Same in Denmark even though we're one of the least religious nations in the world. It's just a remnant from the old days I guess.

I don't mind prayer rooms at uni either. It's not like they're interfering with what I'm doing.

It's (probably) still secular in the sense that laws aren't governed by religion.

You're definitely speculating, and making 2+2 = 5. If you want to know about the life of Abu Bakr (RA), why not read up on it rather than trying to guess.

59% of people ticked 'Christian' on the UK census when asked what their religion was and we have 26 reserved seats in the House of Lords for bishops. But socially and politically we are much more secular that the US, which was actually founded as a secular nation.

Read stuff written decades- if not centuries - later, by people who were biased. Victor writes history etc etc.

I prefer the 'when it looks like a duck, swims like a duck and quacks like a duck, then probably it is a duck'. Beause really, it is between paedophilia and royal marriage. And considering that I am kind and nice, I give to him the benefit of the doubt and call it a royal marriage. I doubt that there is an another reason bar those two, for a 53 years old man to marry a 9 years old woman.

I saw a documentaru about the religions schools, and definitely wasn't great. Also, giving reserved seats to Bishops is nuts.

US is very Christian though. Being more secular than them isn't very hard (despite that they in theory are secular).

Ok, so you'd prefer to be ignorant. Fair enough.

I'm sure you're intelligent enough to know 'the truth' without doing any reading into the subject material.

What irks me a bit is; muslims get upset (and rightly so) when people generalise or they get tarred with the same brush as all those lunatics who kill innocent people. But in the same breath they do the same for Israeli's/jews.

Why is that allowed? I'm pretty sure the average Israeli just wants to live life in peace and not destroy the lives/homes of palestinians. Can't you see nothing will ever change when a big part of both sides thinks this way?
