Television House of the Dragon (GoT Prequel) - No book spoilers allowed

Great episode, as good as peak Game of Thrones.

If that's the Sea Snake's daughter who the king was supposed to marry, the actress playing her looks older than the princess and the queen now
She has aged. She had to the series has moved on about 5 years. They may be using the Actress that plays her throughout the rest of the series for her.

That was a fantastic episode especially the last twenty or so minutes with the wedding. Everything leading to it and then the tension was fantastic. Best episode of the season.
And GoT vibes as you would want

I do think it was out of emotion, but it looked like he was realizing something when Lonmouth walked past him. I dunno, guess I'm imagining things :wenger: he was dumb enough to asm her to leave with him on an orange cart just before, so he jsnt exactly a genius.

The orange cart part was hilarious. Yes, she's going to leave a dragon behind for some oranges.

Yes, this is where I was at, but in GoT there is often some misleading scenes.

True. He could still have his eye on Rhaenyra and that was just for show.

I had this exact thought too when she appeared. That change of actress made her age a lot.

It’s a good series so far but not the most compelling for me. The constant time jumps are a bit jarring and remove most of the tension. It just feels like it’s been 5 episodes of protracted scene setting.

Was Ser Criston just allowed to wander off after attacking the future King consort and pummelling another man’s face in?

I’m assuming the attempted seppuku is just afterwards, as the Queen was at the marriage in the very next scene. Not sure why she stopped him though.
The scene was shot out of sequence as she was at the wedding both before and after talking Ser Criston down.

Its enjoyable, however personally would have preferred a series that covered the original white walker attack of 8,000 years ago and the builidng of the wall to keep them from returning.

This was great due to how funny it was
I mean he's a nobody really and he's asking her to leave everything for that

That was the final appearances for both Miley Alcock & Emily Carey in this show and have to say both actresses were really good, particularly Miley Alcock who portrayed Rhaenyra so well.

Both have bright futures in their acting careers for sure.
Why did you feel the need to announce this, does it make you happy?

I feel like the fact they are trying to cover years between every episode makes it lose a lot of what made Game of Thrones so good. Not for me so far, shame because the actors are brilliant.

I think that's his son. He's got two of them, one is the burly knight who saves her and the other is the weak, club-footed dude
Yeah, they're the 2 sons of Lyonel Strong, Lord of Harrenhal.

The burly one is nicknamed "Breakbones" and is said to be the strongest man in the seven kingdoms.

That was one hell of a fecking episode. I was getting major red wedding vibes in the build up with all that tension, and im glad it didn't disappoint. Ser Criston is such a dumb ass, imagine asking a future Queen to give up everything to go live in some dusty apartment above a whore house.

Going to rewatch that episode immediately i think. Didn't bother rewatching the last episode like i did the previous ones. It was entertaining but not alot happened really, which in a way made this episode so much better.

They have nailed the family politics in this show, it's as gripping as any of the original GoT storylines. Im still rooting for Rhaenyra but i can forsee Otto's foreshadowing on Prince Aegon being murdered by her coming true, which would be yet another huge moment in the series if it comes to pass.

It's not exactly a spoiler. It's well known there is two actress's for Rhaenyra. Sorry you don't get to see Milly anymore.

Did you not see the preview for the next episode? It's literally another person being shown on tv that will be in the next episode that we'll all see this Sunday. Totally different Rhaenyra. Not the same person like we saw in the previews.

Question on the opening scene of the most recent episode tonight.

When Daemons wife is riding on horseback, why is she such a dick to her cousin when he offers to hunt with her? Does she know Daemons arrived somehow? Or is she just abit of a nasty cnut? If so then Daemon has my blessings for smashing her head in

Also
The new Kings hand could be involved in poisoning the King? in GoT poison is a women's way of killing someone but he could be behind it, especially as he is also sending his little worm of a son to whisper shit into the Queens ear, to what end i don't know? But he clearly told his son to tell the Queen about the abortion juice served to Rhaenyra, which obviously fecks up the Kings succesion once she knows her son Aegon could be in danger. Wonder what the new hand has to gain from all this?

Probably just a brief way of showing how she's independent/stubborn and likely to clash with limpdick Daemon.

A lot of people like to go in raw without watching any trailers that give things away, that’s why it is part of the spoiler policy of the forum not to include anything from them.

This one wasn’t a big deal as it is widely known and just out there in the ether, I just wanted it to be a surprise when it happened (I thought it was happening after this next episode).

The action scenes with Matt Smith really let this down imo.

We had the stormtrooper aim and Rambo scene before, now we have the Horse whisperer outsmarting the hunter woman who spends her life on that horse

Other than that decent episode
I didn't get that either. I hope he had a backup plan if that didn't work.

Thought it was due to Daemon smelling like a dragon and using that to panic the horse.

No one really challenges the Kingsguard - if they act, they are assumed to have done so at the behest of the king. Essentially they are super-police and no one would really have the authority to pull up Ser Criston outside of the royal family.

This is correct. The hand of the king is Lord Lyonel Strong, and he has two sons - the elder is Harwin "Breakbones" Strong, the younger is Larys "Clubfoot" Strong. Breakbones is widely known as the strongest knight in the realm.

She is the heir to Runestone (the ancestral castle of House Royce) and as such is used to and annoyed by cousins attempting to hit on her in order to improve their standing from the lesser branch of the family.

Oh, so that’s why their armor (which I loved) had all that funky writing engraved into it. ‘Rune’-stone…duh.

House Royce has canonically always engraved runes into their bronze armor as a way to ward off injuries and death - they are inextricably tied to bronze armor (hence "Bronze Bitch"). Runestone is the name of their castle.

It's details like this that make the portrayal of Yohn Royce so dogshit in Game of Thrones - he just wears bog standard steel plate for no reason whatsoever:

Hmm, Breakbones or Clubfoot? Only one winner of that genetic lottery. Similar to Jaime and Tyrion

And to add to that, I bet Corlys saw it as almost a blessing since it would eliminate what he saw as a weakness in his son that Laenor would eventually "grow out of"

Not sure if I should be spoilering the latest episode but

Confessing to Alicent was absolutely thick as well as cnut-struck. She was only asking about hearing a rumor and even if Criston didn't know she was talking about Daemon, she clearly didn't know anything for sure at that point.

To be fair he'd assumed with the Queen's resources and the walls have ear it's not that hard to be found out. And the Queen wasnt even asking. She kinda know what's going on and simply wanting to hear from his own mouth

Spoiler stuff like this mate. Thanks for ruining the suprise.

Also time jumps are ruining the continuity and character development. They could easily of had onenseason per time period. Its feeling rushed lile last season of GoT was.
