Horse racing tips

In the first i'd go with Vulcanite each way or Prospect Wells to win.

Wishfull Thining each way in the 3.05 is the best bet of the day.

Fingal Bay is nailed on in the 4.15. Should outclass this field and although 6/4 is nothing to get excited about if the bookies are doing well (and I think there are a couple of short priced favs who will lose) they might take him on.

True, but in non-handicaps thems the brakes. Both races have favourites that are very opposable and too short so the value is there.

What a fecking shit meeting. It's full of Scousers and all the favourites are winning. Utter wank.

Big fan of Fruity and backed him at the festival where he ran a cracker but I'd be doubtful about him staying the trip tomorrow. I'm giving Any Currency another chance, still well handicapped and stays forever. Hopefully he'll run well off a featherweight.

Nichols yard back bang on form. First 2 at Ayr. Was in both, but didn't put te double on (D'oh). Egardo Sol could make it a treble.

Looks like the batteries ran out on Egardo there.

Still, he has Harry the Viking in the next with a chance. Good in the weights, definately stays and part owned by a certain Sir A Ferguson.

Punchestown starts it's five day Festival tomorrow and in the main event on day one I want to be against the market leaders in the 5.30. The ground will be heavy and I like Realt Dubh and Gauvain at around 14s and 25s. Sizing Europe is a smashing horse but is better on good ground and after a gruelling race at Cheltenham it wouldn't surprise me if he ran below form. At odds on he's worth taking on.

Sizing Europe wins it, Relat Dubh.

keep the tips coming though!

High winds in Ireland means today's action might not go ahead. Fingers crossed.

If it dies down I like Rubi Light in the 5.30. At 3/1 he's not the best of prices but he's the best jumper of a fence out of soft ground in training at the moment and that is crucial to his chances. He's not a guaranteed stayer which is a worry but his two main rivals are either not the best at actually completing races or unproven in deep ground.

2000 Guineas on Saturday and the fancy prices I've got about Abtaal and French Fifteen have gone but the favourite is such rotten value that they're both still worth backing at 8s and 10s.

With the fav at evens everything else in the race looks value. Newmarket is pretty sodden at the minute but it dries quickly so I'll wait til the morning of the race.

Interesting point made by Kevin Blake of the Irish Field: 'Even more significantly, any son of Montjeu has an extremely damning statistic to overcome in the 2000 Guineas. Montjeu has sired over 150 horses that have been officially rated 100 or higher. Yet, of all those talented horses, not a single one of them has won a Group race at a mile or shorter as a three-year-old or older in Europe. Indeed, just a handful of them have won at Listed level within that criteria, with one of those being, interestingly enough, Hurricane Fly. It is very rare to have a black-and-white statistic of such notability in the case of a well-established sire and the significance of such a stat shouldn’t be underplayed in the case of Camelot'.

EDIT: got it down to 3, Abtaal, French Fifteen and Trumpet major. I think TM may lack a bit of class and Abtaal may not stay the mile. French Fifteen it is 14/1 on betfair seems generous.

I've gone for French Fifteen aswell as that's 5 different people i've heard tip it up now.

I don't do each way so that wasn't pleasant. The only silver lining is the 5/2 I got on Camelot for the Derby just before the off.

Didn't get involved in that race. Had a nice double going onto Maybe in the Guineas but it turned into a farce of a race.

Not a good start to the flat but I fancy Overturn quite strongly in the Chester Cup on Wednesday. He's top weight but they are favoured at a course like Chester and he's bang fit after a good season hurdling.

Snap. Part of an unholy afternoon treble of Arsenal chucking away the win in the last 5 mins and Chelsea winning the cup. Silver lining today in the league and staying well away from the 1,000 gns.

Gutted about the ground tomorrow at Chester for Overturn who might be pulled out now. If not he's worth a bet (and also an in running lay at a lot shorter as he's a rampant front runner who will trade very short at some stage) as he's sure to go close.
Tominator is also worth backing. It's a fantastic each way race as you can knock out the ones drawn really high and you get four places paid. This horse needs a test of stamina that he hasn't had since winning a big handicap on G/S at Newcastle last year and the way this will be run will really suit. 10/1 and if he's tuned for it I'll be surprised if he isn't placed.

There is nobody I hate more in the world right now than Donald McCain.

Didn't have a bet today but I was impressed by Vow also. 8/1 is a fair each way price.

Libranno is worth an each way tickle in the 3.00 at York tomorrow. He's a tad in and out but at his best he has the beating of animals that are more than half his current odds. 14s and 16s is readily available.

Yeah I don't think Hoof It or Mayson are value at 4s. I thought it was going to be soft so I had a fancy for High Society but it's forecast as gd, gs in places.

I apologise for that the tip today. I usually don't bother with sprints and that's the reason why. You'd be as well picking one out of a hat for those sort of races.
