Horse racing tips

Is he likely to trade lower in running? I'd guess they'll keep him at the back since he's never gone beyond 1m 6f before.

I don't think that matters with IR punters. I backed Music Show at 9s yesterday and managed to get 7s matched despite her never getting a blow in.

If he's in touch entering the straight he'll be evens or odds-on so it's a risk worth taking.

I've backed a few front runners lately to lay IR. If they get out they always drop a few points for a free bet.

Yep. It's a good system.

I'm found one in the Britannia as well. Chain Lightning won a handicap over 10f at Sandown in April and with the ground softening up his stamina could come into play. The draw might be ok now looking at the first race. Worth an each way.

Just looked - along with Vanguard Dream and Cruiser he's the only winner on soft (Captain Bertie gs). Too much of a lottery for me though. Good luck.

Well, this is my last throw of the dice after a fairly unsuccesful week but I have Switcher, World Domination, Green Destiny and Free For All in a variety of singles, doubles and trebles so confusing even I don’t understand it.

Nathaniel looks quite interesting at 11/4, acts on going and wasn't suited by a sharp track like Chester last time up. Namibian looks better the further he goes and is a mudlover. Our Jonathan good value at 8s in the last.

You have a yankee as part of that by the sounds of it. 11 bets but one loser sees 7 of them go under.

My only bet today is a small lay of Green Destiny in the 4.25. He's under 2/1 in a reasonably competitive looking handicap. Impressive as he was last time he went up 12lbs for that success and is running over further today. I think he'll struggle to win with the ground as soft as it is.

Yeah, it's lost of bit of glamour over the years but this could be hot if Carlton House, Brown Panther & co go for it.

The best tip I can give any one is to immediately cross off any horses I've bet on.

The character played by William H Macy in the 'The Cooler' was actually based on me.

That was all about the ground I've seen Beachfire run averagely on good to firm - he looked like a different animal with cut. Crap I missed the price on Namibian can't be backing it at 7/2 over an ntried trip.

I was going to back Bated Breath in the Jubilee at 3.45 but the ground has put me off. Instead, the bets today are in the Hardwicke at 3.05 where Await the Dawn is a very short price considering he's unproven at this trip, the ground will make it harder for him to stay and the preponderance of front runners means we're gonna get a fast pace making stamina even more of an issue. Rather than lay him (he could be a special horse) I've taken two of the Godolphin animals each way. Calvados Blues is by a German stallion who is a massive influence for stamina and he should like the ground. Passion for Gold has a win on heavy ground to his name and although I'm worried about the other front runners he is too big in the betting at present.

Having a go at Royal Ascot , just looking through the racing post at the moment. Some very interesting races today. Big gamble on a Willie Mullins horse in the 5.35 already
Beaten a long way in this race a year ago when backed. Hasn't won for a long time.

Just spent an hour on the Wokingham and have come up with Fathsta - a 20/1 shot. Will like the ground and only runs off a 4lb higher mark than when pissing a York handicap last Autumn. The draws a worry but we get 5 places each way.

Await the Dawn looks too short - far from sure to get the trip in soft ground.

Workforce, last year's Derby and Arc winner is around 2/1 in the five runner Eclipse Stakes at Sandown on Saturday. Not a lot of analysis is required here - just fill them boots.

Going to the races at Haydock soon. Any tips?

Yep. I think the most amazing thing about the race was the prices available in the morning. 2/1 Workforce and evens See You Think in a two horse race - the competition between the bookies is so intense that punters are getting great odds in the big races.

I decided not to cover my stake but had a cheeky little double on SYT and Bated Breath in next weekend's July Cup. That horse is around 10s and is a great ew punt.

Delegator at 5s looks like a bet in the July Cup (let the rain stay away and the wind dry it out some more).

Delegator never really got into that fair play to Hayley though.

In the 15.20 at Southwell today Nifty Roy looks a good price at 7s. Has the form.

Fascinating King George on Saturday. I think Rewilding has the best for, on offer this season and is worth a bet. I reckon 4s might be available on the day.

Workforce's performance in the race last year puts me off him and St Nicholas Abbey (who I've backed for the Arc) may not like the track.

After Ascot, Glorious Goodwood starts next Tuesday. This is my favourite meeting on the flat and there are sure to be a few punts.
