Hirving Lozano | PSV Player

If Youtube videos are anything to go by he looks like a quicker Depay. More of a goalscorer than a genuine dribbler.

Depay is considerably better though. If we were to get this guy, we'd be likely loaning him out.

I wouldn't dismiss Valencia that easily if I were you, up until last season Willian was just a hard working ball career just like Valencia. His profile was elevated last season because of his free kick form in the first half of the season. Don't be surprised to see Tony V play in the right wing against the stronger teams next season, he is strong, quick and can carry the ball to the fancier players in a counter attack.
I think Valencia will be a a backup or even starter RB rather than winger.

"Considerably better" or not, I have a feeling this guy would make more of an impact than Depay has for us.

Hard to say, but Lozano would initially struggle with the pace and physicality of the premier league. I mean to put into context Depay was ripping up a much stronger league in Eredivesie than Lozano has been in the Mexican leagues. I think there's very little chance Lozano would outperform Depay tbh. Would be interesting to see how Depay performs next season, as for me the main problem with him last season was his lack of penetration, due to the pace he lost via bulking up over last summer.

I think United would want a wildcard or to take a punt on someone. We've seen a few names mentioned. Hernandez made a good impression on people (in terms of the mexican market) and it's just impossible to say too much. I never would have said or thought that Rashford would do what he's done so far. I don't think it was obvious that he would take to it like a duck to water. There's something though about players that run with a ball at pace - that is exciting, because what if they're good! It's going to be interesting to see at the end of the window, who we've signed. Even though we're talking to them, it doesn't mean we'll sign him....we might be talking to many clubs and much might depend on whether Drexler/Sane or someone like that is available. It's impossible to judge this kid but I do think (though we signed that Dortmund lad), we would want someone like Martial on the right hand side.

If we had bought Mahrez 2 years ago, people would have said the same things, not good enough, a loan first, cant cope with the pace and phisicality etc..You never know how these transfers turn out, so on that basis i wouldnt rule him out yet.

Doesnt impress m3 tbh. Would much prefer Ounas since "He has something" he gives me the feeling that Special Footballers give you. Lozano doesnt give me that. But hey, always trust our scouts.

Zlatan was confirmed by Zlatan.
Mkhitaryan was confirmed by megastore and Dortmund.
Now Lozano's father-in-law says he's joining United. What an odd window.

Agreed. It's too early to call how he'd turn out as you can never know how a player will step up. However, a better comparison would have to be Hernandez rather than Mahrez who played in the French lower division, which is a pretty physical league.

He shouldn't have fatigue-problems at least....if you Believe this article :) 122 games this season....I wouldn't want to play in Mexico :)

Lozano, 20, has scored 33 goals in 122 games this season.

On a slightly more serious note - I haven't seen much of him, but he must be one of the quickest players in football. He is Lightning Quick!

Sorry if this has already been posted/addressed but he is a midfielder (I think) playing for Pachuca. Their vice president has confirmed we are in talks to sign him.

"Already there is negotiations with that team [United]? Yes," Pachuca vice-president Andre Fassi told ESPN. "There is still nothing closed though."

Anyone know if he's any good? Apparently we have also scouted his team mates Erick Gutierrez and Rodolfo Pizarro.

I've completely forgotten the rules in pasting article links and what not but I got this from M.E.N who have quoted the club's vice president. Also mentioned on skysports.

I think he can play in other positions. In one of those videos he's playing from the right a lot

In the videos, he played last year a lot as a LW and 2 years ago he played a lot RW. Seeems a versatile lad

He looked lively when he came for Mexico at the Copa America. Can not seeing him breaking into our starting line up for awhile though, but he is only 20, so he has time to develop into a decent player.

Strange how opinions differ, as I much prefer Lozano over Ounas. Also, as ability isn't enough to go by, he also seems to work quite hard, as many mexicans tend to. Ounas, on the other hand, has had a lot of negative dealings with social media, french manager etc.

Haven't seen anything from him that make me think he's gonna be better than what we have.Reserving my judgement for now but generally I would prefer we try to develop the likes of Januzaj. What makes Lozano a safer bet than Memphis?

He was amazing for my United side on FM though.Think I sold him to PSG for 60 mil.
This Januzaj's last chance here and he hasn't helped himself as all . Doubt he'll start that many games next season.

My prediction is that he will leave at the end of this season. We shouldn't avoid signing younger players if possible.
