Henrikh Mkhitaryan | José says "We have three"

Don't want to argue but I disagree with your comments. Mkhitaryan has four more to his game than Pedro. He's a much better dribbler, he's a better passer , he's more ambidextrous and can play in more positions.
We will see how he does but I disagree with you saying De Bruyne is a couple of levels above, whatever that means.

Doubt that. Does Pedro even have a favourite foot? Otherwise agreed

Other than Norwood who has confirmed he's actually signed with us hence the thread title?

All Dortmund have said is they've accepted an offer from us (and the usual well wishes for a deal they expect to be tied up quickly) not that he has put pen to paper.

The BBC are running with the story that a bid has been accepted, and even state personal terms have yet to be agreed so don't know why everyone is acting as if everything has been confirmed.

Obviously this will all probably be tied up in the next 24 hours but think the thread title has jumped the gun a bit. Not like we've had official pictures like we did with Zlatan.

Dortmund confirmed on their Twitter that they have agreed to sell him to us. I wouldn't listen to Taylor. Di Marzio said last week that Raiola and Mkhitaryan's side of things was all agreed, it's just Dortmund that we were negotiating with. That is now done.

All the hate for Dortmund in this thread; just remember that they have Ole's 99' CL Final shirt hanging up in their own club museum. I still like them as a club despite the petty dig.

So excited about the Mickey signing; can't wait for us to confirm it

I didn't know this before and it's pretty small time from them frankly. It is akin to us hanging demba Ba's jersey from that Liverpool game in our museum

Dortmund said he has joined us... still not a word, nor any pictures. What's happening?

If Daniel Taylor is to be believed then why have Dortmund confirmed the transfer? Put pressure on us to make sure it goes through? And with us briefing the Superstore as to the impending arrival, I don't think theres much left to sort out regarding this transfer other than a medical, work permit and him signing.

Needs to do a medical and apparently still needs to agree terms and sign the contract, so it could take a while. I still expect it tomorrow or on Monday to go through officially.

There is no way we would have gone with all hassle with don't understand without there being a broad agreement on personal terms.
I bet personal terms were probably agreed long before a bid was accepted.

He hasn't yet hugged woody

"Hey Mickey, you're so fine
Where'd you come from, Lichtenstein?
Hey Mickey."

You're welcome.
Way too good to support Chelsea.

Listen! If you had a girl whom you really liked and she was hot too. You work in a good bank position and take her yearly to a holiday destination. You have been living with her for some time now and married to her, suddenly a guy comes along who has a shiny new porsche, but has no job .... and your girl falls for him, asks you to let her go, you try convincing her but ahhhhhh her best friend keeps saying to go for porsche guy, which makes things even more difficult since she listens to her best friend and follows her...
You try telling her that the guy doesn't have a job, just has a beautiful sports car and he won't be able to take you to the holiday destination every year which you really love ......... but alas, the lure of that handsome guy with porsche is too much and she still wants a divorce
So when you will send a divorce letter to your girl, wouldn't that be filled with words like missing out on miami beaches and her likes for armani clothes

I know you may not like the analogy here but try seeing things from their perspective... they are bitter because they are hurt ... they are partying ways against their desires
By miles the worst ever analogy......great stuff!

Seriously...worst ever ever!

It's beautiful how Dortmund specifically point out in their announcement that United finished 5th and that they wish him well in the Europa League next season .
It is pretty funny, sure we will rightly take offense (richest club in the world, most famous club in the world and son on) but you have to laugh as they are accurate. I think Dortmund the club should not have said it, as it is a bit small time (something you expect from City and Liverpool) but I would have expected it from the Dortmund fans. I am pretty sure we as fans have said similar when players went to that massive club down the road with all their history.

Really good post from the Dortmund subreddit on Mkhitaryan.

https://www.reddit.com/r/borussiado...hitaryan_his_replacement_and_ousmane_dembele/

Mkhitaryan is very flexible, and has been played in many, many positions throughout the season. Mkhitaryan mainly played in the right attacking midfield role this season, but was played significantly as the Center attacking midfielder last year, and a deeper number 8 for Shaktar. Yet, Mkhitaryan was not only played on the right this season. In the Rückrunde, Thomas Tuchel started to deviate from a 4-1-4-1 to a more fluid 5-3-2 3-5-2 combination. With both of these formations, there was no orthodox Right winger, making Mkhitaryan adapt to a more condensed central role. In matches like the DFB Pokal semifinal in Berlin, Mkhitaryan was played as more of a right back/wing combo. In the match against Stuttgart, he played in the role of Ilkay Gundogan, prompting many, including myself to see him as the natural replacement for Ilkay moving forward. The main point of note in this is that Miki was not only very flexible in his positioning, but he absolutely excelled in these positions. When an attacking mid replaces Durm at wingback, you can tell he is reliable just about everywhere.
Mkhitaryan excels at a few very important points: finishing, pace, dribbling, and work-rate. A testament to Mkhitaryan's skill is his ability to track back, running all the way down the pitch and still being able to position himself to get on the scoresheet. The absolute epitome of his play ironically happened on Match Day 1 against Gladbach. This Webm shows it all:

Look at how far out Mkhitaryan is when Auba wins the ball. Miki sprints 40m in just a few seconds, takes the ball neatly in stride, dribbles past the keeper, and slots the ball in. All parts of this are significant; his workrate, his touch, his dribbling, and his ability to actually finish when he is past the keeper. I will never not be bitter about that miss.

What I am trying to accomplish by wasting millions of bytes of data on an internet forum where I shitpost more than makes sense is that Mkhitaryan is irreplaceable in some aspects. I have very rarely ever seen a winger with such a good workrate, with other skills as well. What I mean is that Miki wasn't using his work-rate to hide the fact he was not technically good, or smart with the ball etc, like a certain midfielder we all love named Fisch. This aspect of him is not replaceable, especially for Dortmund. I fail to think of a single winger with that type of work-rate that has that skill in the entire world, let alone in the pool of transfer targets for Dortmund. This loss may be hypothetically covered by the signing of Rode, adding another hard worker to the squad. While literally everyone loves Weigl, he doesn't possess the speed or the intelligence to compensate for the lack of speed (yet) to be total stopper in the middle. Maybe Rode is part of Tuchels Tactical Shift, compensating for Miki's contributions defensively rather than Ilkay's contributions offensively, which leads us to who I predict will soon become the natural replacement for Miki..

BBC have said that we have agreed the fee but still need to do a medical, agree personal terms and acquire a work permit.

Quite annoying that, thought we would have personal terms agreed already.

We've probably agreed it verbally but he probably just needs to finalise it and sign it. I'm pretty certain a player can't sign a contract with another club before a fee is agreed. So this news is to be expected. I think he'll complete a medical and sign on Monday.

I'm guessing Mkhitaryan is going to back down on his demands. Would be quite embarrassing for him to have Dortmund announce his departure and him not agreeing to huge wages instead of astronomical ones.

He probably agreed on the personal terms but hasn't picked a car yet.

Come on people.

Personal terms are agreed before bids are even made these days. Just need to talk to the agent who then tells the client. It's most likely he hasn't signed the contract and has to have his medical.

This is basically done.

I always think its better for teams to give a baseline wage of say 120k then say if you want the extra 30k we expect you to contribute this many assists or goals.

Give a player ambition to perform.

It's a done deal though, very good summer indeed but I'm expecting a huge signing for some reason.

The general outline of his personal terms would have been done ages ago.
People need to relax.

The guy who has a new Porsche will have a job next summer. So the girl would have both the Porsche now & secure revenues from the next summer.

And the girl is bored with the banker. The banker could have written 'Good luck. Excellent decision for both parties'
