This is just incredibly pissing off now. He'll maybe give him a game at a difficult ground like Fener away where he might not do well and he'll be out for another 3 months. Just ridiculous

I don't understand it. Today we have Carrick, Schniederlin and Fellaini on the bench. One of which (probably Schneiderlin) who didn't really need to be on the bench and could have been replaced by Mkhitaryan.

Either that, or replace one of Young or Memphis (both better on the left) with a right mid in Mkhitaryan.

Ahh well.....

Laughable. No matter what he says to the press, Mourinho has clearly seen something he doesn't like. Rooney is coming back from injury and gets a place on the bench...

Different injury and Rooney was match fit prior to it.

Something is going on here.

Feels like a Salah/Cuadrado type signing. A shame as the lad has quality.

Have to say it is very odd if he is physically fit. When you look at out bench, what would there be to lose from having him there for one of carrick, schneiderlin or fellaini. If we're cruising then surely it would be an opportunity to give him some minutes.

I can't imagine we'd get rid of an obviously talented player after only 100 minutes of football. I'd assume the situation has been discussed with the player and he'll be given a chance at some point. Or maybe he's really not fit and off the pace required. It's disappointing not to see him though, you'd have thought today would be the ideal time to bring him in.

At this point Phil Jones has a greater chance of regaining fitness and getting a place in the team

I think Jose sometimes likes to humiliate people because he's a playground bully of a manager. Whether or not that's the case here is hard to say but it wouldn't be a huge shock.

There's no shame in struggling to break in behind great players, but it's Memphis and Young keeping him off the bench at this point. On one hand i'm now convinced we'll see him on Thurs, but on the other I'm not that naive to believe something ain't right here.

See the post by @schwalbe . If he's not "fit", it's pretty much the same as saying he's not good enough at this point.

Its not the same at all.

Mourinho spoke quite clearly about adapting, and how Di Maria and Willian had their struggles. If Mourinho feels Mkhitaryan will require more time to adapt, its not necessarily to say the player is a "reject".

Does Lingard really need all these games that Mkhitaryan could potentially play in for example? We know Lingards ceiling already which isn't very high. Today vs Burnley is the perfect time to try mkhitaryan .

Some in here still believe a professional footballer isn't fully fit after 4 weeks with training after being injured for 3-4 weeks? Out of all the conspiracy theories in this thread that is the worst one.

Bet he regrets not joining Arsenal now.

Jose clearly doesn't like him, what a strange situation.

Doesn't seem a great idea to keep leaving him out of the squad, especially when he has the same agent as 2 of the other 3 signings we made this summer.

How do you adapt to a league if you don't get play time? The guy played champions league and in a europa league semi final, do you really think Burnley would be too much to handle for him?

Mourinho doing his usual shitness to feck us over. Laughable at this point. He should be in politics instead of a coach if he likes his games that much.

I want to say jose knows best. But its really hard to say that. He should have played today. Maybe atleast on the bench. feck this shit.

Doesn't make sense. Even if he's not fully ready for the intensity, he's not going to get used to it when he's not in the squad.

he could definitely make the bench, now I admit this is becoming silly, wonder what's going on behind the scenes? He seems like a nice determined lad.. and rooney who was out for a while is more fit and useful than him so he makes the bench, that's truly disappointing by Jose

Utterly bizarre, why pay all that money for a player you're not going to use. It's not like he's a young lad with a long term future plan in mind.

There is a lot we don't know at this stage, with his ability to adapt to the demands of training being one of them. I agree its silly he's not making the bench today, but we still shouldn't be at the level of calling him a Mourinho reject just yet.

Yeah, at this point it's very weird. I was so excited about him joining us as well, I just can't imagine what's going on

So he signed one of the Bundesliga's top players, for around £30m, to make an example out of him?

Just beyond comprehension he can't even be afforded a place on the bench - even just to build his confidence.

It's pretty clear at this stage that Mourinho didn't want to buy him and it seems like head making a point if why that's a bad idea.

It's not even the same situation as say Cuadrado or Salah, Mkhi is already a top player and has proven himself already.

Why have Carrick,Fellaini and Schneiderlin on the bench but no Mkhitaryan?! Mind-boggling, poor lad must be tearing his hear out. If he decides to leave in summer we have no right to complain that we don't buy creative players or play nice football because every time we do have one we let them walk right out the door.
