If he doesn't feature against City, I might start worrying for real.

The failed integration of this guy into the squad is one of the major reasons why we suck atm. We are lacking in creativity and we seemingly bought this guy to address just that.
You can slaughter players like Ibrahimovic, and he deserves some stick, but when you can't bring your dangerous players into dangerous positions often enough you won't score enough goals.

Mkhitaryan, a POTY in the bundesliga who put in consistently top class performances can't get ahead of...

Lingard, Young.

Let that sink in.

No wonder why we are so shit we only like to force average players into the team.

If he doesn't get anything in against Burnley then we are shooting ourselves in the foot, and the man to blame for that is Mourinho.

What a shitstorm

It's not even been created by anyone else, it's our own fecking undoing.

Baffled by his none inclusion, especially given the lack of creativity in our team.

He had a chance against City and was the worst player on the pitch.
So it's not that clear-cut really.

Ok, what's going on? Is he still unfit? He should be playing, he is a class player!

So was Lingard.
True, which means Mkhitaryan is not really any better.
If he was not ready, he would play. People come back from injuries all the time and his injury was not even a real injury, he was out for like a week and a half at most, it was more of small niggle. If he had been injured for like a year, like Shaw of course i would have made allowances for that.

He should be given time and a chance to settle into the squad. We've given umpteen chances to other players so the same should apply to this bloke.

He has to be unfit, there is no other legitimate reason for Mourinho to drop him like that.

Yea it's a bit weird at this point. He's barely had a kick for us.

I don't care how many doubts Jose has with him etc bottom line is the team in the form they're in and considering how poor we look going forwards, it is inexplicable not to be giving this guy a chance.

If United only gave 1 chance to each player, some of our besties wouldn't have gone on to become legends. I guess this is the same level of "chance" De Bruyne got before h3 fecked off and proved he was world class in Germany

Home against City, hardly an introduction game (just like his first start showed). As a sub he'll probably be there. My worry would come in after the burnley game if he isn't there.

Can't believe this guy isn't getting a look in, especially considering how disjointed our attack is.

He will have more chances. But if he would have been really top player, a best in Bundesliga or whatever, he would have taken this first chance.

How bad was that injury during the internationals before the City match? It looked really bad but I was surprised he played against City (never mind making the squad).
But then he played like he was injured.

Has he actually recovered from that?

Whats going on with him is really starting to hurt us now. This guy was brought in by Mourinho to link midfield to attack, create chances and score goals. He was brilliant at it last season too.

I'm sad to see that he hasn't gotten a lot of opportunities this season, but it looks like a fitness issue from the outside. Hopefully he'll get some time against City or Burnley.

However, I'm not so sure he is our saviour. He did play well against Hull for 20 min, but I suspect this is an instance of thinking whatever alternative we have must be better because our current choice was disappointing.

Part of me thinks this too, but there's no denying that he was very, very good in Germany. At his best, he's one of the most creative players around.

I'm not necessarily saying he's our saviour but he's someone Jose highlighted we needed in the summer. Obviously he's not played for whatever reason but what it means is Joses original plans haven't been able to come together.

My worry is he's what Jose thought we needed. Creativity.

The team still doesn't have him so we are still lacking in an area we wanted to improve.

I think having him and Martial taking over from Rashford + Lingard will result in us being so much better offensively. I think Mourinho is just wanting them both to be completely match fit before throwing them in. He's always had a great injury record with his squad and I'm assuming this is the kind of approach which resulted in that.

I agree - He is a very good player and I think he can be an important part of our team. But I doubt he would've made but a small difference today e.g., when so many decided to not show up.

We actually had 4 good chances (2 in the 1st half), it wasn't our lack of creation that killed us. Neither was it against Stoke, and I don't think our plan allowed much more creativity against Pool. Thats speculation though.

In games such as Watford, Feyenoord and Zorya he could've been great. We struggled to create a lot in those.

It just seems to me that this Forum rates him higher and higher every week he is not playing. And I have a slight bias against the attitude that just one change will magically transform the team.

Not a chance. He was the best player in the Bundesliga last year, he's not fcuking Bebe.
Exactly, so he really has to start getting some minutes on the pitch, especially if what we're led to believe is that he's no longer injured.

He's new to the league, it takes time to adjust. You can't give someone a start against the team probably going to win the league and then say well that was your only chance and you blew it.

Unfortunately we're nearly in November and he'll still be adjusting because he's barely had any minutes.

Reckon he'l start on Wednesday. Perfect game imo - City are a tough test but its a league cup and Mourinho will need him to make an impact very soon in the league now.

Oh do feck off with that nonsense, so by that logic you expect Mourinho to bench the 8 players that clearly let us down yesterday since they fecked up their one chance?

He's been struggling with injuries. Jeez give him time

So is Miki not fully fit and that's why Jose is leaving him out of the squad? Or is it something else? I hope it's just because Mourinho believes he's not fit enough to play yet and he's going to ease him back in. Can't wait for Miki to get back in the side, he has the ability to turn our season around and become one of our key players.

THIS. We need to see this guy in action as I believe he is one of the few players in the team who can actually take on defenders and run rings around them. He will bring more creativity to the team and needs to be given a chance.
