Random conspiracy? Yeah, maybe just poor memory... Mkhitaryan after he recovered from the injury he picked internationally was then subbed at half-time in the game against City. After that he lost 7 games 7!, where he wasn't even on the bench! Does that seem normal?
He wasn't fully recovered and then got injured during the City game which is part of the reason why he played shit and got subbed, and wasn't even able to train properly until like a week ago. So yeah. It happens.

Well I had just assumed he hadn't recovered from that injury, given he didn't go to the next internationals?

I hope he can at least make the bench for Chelsea. I don't think he is unhappy, the season is actually very young yet. We've played 8 games which is not even 1/4 of the season. Then we have the League cup games, Europa League (which we should go all the way in) and also our FA cup defence. So plenty of games to play yet. Someone as good as Mkhi will play most of the rest of the season providing he gets back to 100% form, and all the important cup games.

Definitely want to see him get some minutes against Chelsea, so I hope he will be ready. He wasn't ready for City and it was a mistake to play him there. Hopefully this time he has had enough time to prepare and can get stuck right in.

 How can he not even make the bench. He's been training for over two weeks now.

Reading between the lines in Mourinho's various comments on him, I think he's never managed to get Premier League match-fit. Which is strange given that the Bundesliga is also a fast, intense league and he never had problems being in top condition for Dortmund, who play intense football on and off the ball. But once it was a problem, it does make sense that it might have been compounded by the two injuries. Hard to get into your best shape when your work keeps being interrupted by lay-offs.

EDIT: Or, you know, he's got Lupus.

Does Mourinho have a daughter? That would explain a lot

so just to clear up.....
He wasnt totaly fit at the start of the season, even though he had one of the longest preseasons of any of our players.

He gets injured on international duty, but gets his first start against City, where he was dreadful, possibly because of injury.

He is now fit again but cant even get on the bench, it all seems very weird.

If I'm not mistaken did Jose say its better for Mkhitaryan's fitness to perform full intense training like he did on Wednesday rather than match day training + then 15 mins game time?

If so it makes a fair bit of sense, and another example of how shite commentators are with the simple logic of "you can't be match fit without at least being on the bench".

I think he'll be on the bench on Sunday after he's done a couple more training sessions with the first team.
I'm shocked that a manager who has a good record keeping players fit would be wary of throwing a player with a muscle injury back into the thick of things. This whole thing is making a mountain out of a mole hill, when a Raiola managed player is unhappy pizza boy will let the entire world know.

It's obvious now that Jose doesn't fancy him and he hasn't really had the chance to adapt to the league or have any kind of chance in the team. Mourinho has done this before with players and hasn't always turned out for the best..

I am sure for Mourinho like us PL>EFL so he will probably give him the chance against city. Mourinho is very unforgiving sometimes when players make mistake and cause him to fail in a match. This happened with city and Mkhitarayan and this is a bit of punishment for him i guess. Maybe he asked Mkhi not to play before the match for armenia, maybe Mkhi dint report his injury to united and failed in the game due to it. Its all speculation right now, i do think its some tough love and he wants to know his character. If he does not play in the EFL vs city then i think things will be very bleak for him.

Some of you must be wanking your balls off to conspiracy theories about 9/11 as well....

He's been out injured for weeks and the first upcoming fixtures after returning from injury have been Liverpool and Chelsea, two crucial matches. It's obvious Mourinho isn't going to gamble on who to have available on the bench. This constant need for drama is getting boring pretty fast.

Its a shame that we cant rely on him as he seem to be a decent player. Thank god jesse had stepped up

He could have played in the Europa League. It was weird from the beginning that he was the only player who got basically no time in the Community Shield (a couple of minutes), didn't start any of the first 3 games and then got thrown in against City following an international break where it was known he had picked up a small knock and, shock horror, he looked really rusty yet Mourinho still considered it good management to slag him off in public. He's not been seen since, I'm not sure it needs a 9/11 type conspiracy to be concerned that Mourinho doesn't really fancy Mkhitaryan already.

This and who can you argue that he is above in the depth chart right now?
Martial? No
Rashford? No
Mata? No
Jesse? No
Young? Maybe, but Young plays multiple positions and reliable on defense

All these guys deserve to play right now with their current form and I would more disappointed if they had to sit out over Henrik.

That would all make sense if the Fenerbache game hadn't happened.

Looks to me that Jose just doesn't like what he's seeing. Simple as that.

Hopefully he'll impress in the cup against City.

Does seem weird to me, I can't believe he can't get match fit having been at Dortmund regardless of an injury.

He came back too soon from injury, and now needs to get back in. Liverpool and Chelsea are not the teams to make your comeback. I'll be concerned if we're in the same situation a month from now.

He will get his chance. Probably against City at capital one cup. I don't think it's a good idea to put a player on the bench and starting eleven in an important game who hasn't fully adapt with the squad and league and has been absent due to injuries, while other players like Lingard, Martial and Rashford are performing well at the moment.

Agreed 100%.
IMO, his first start in the EPL, against MCFC was just a terrible idea. Jose trusted that he'd handle it, but he clearly couldn't.
So, I expect Mhiki to be eased into the team very slowly. Perhaps he is mentally fragile...but we won't ever find this out.

LOL. Seriously? I doubt Jose will be making that mistake again. Read my comment above.

I agree.

I've said it before and I'll say it again this situation does not surprise me one bit, the writing was actually on the wall before the seasons even started given he barely played in pre-season despite being one of the few players who didn't play for his country in the summer.

Jose has a history of this (especially at Chelsea), Salah, Cuadrado, Luis and I'm sure there are others, players Jose signs and never gives a chance to. I'm not sure if he does it to make a statement that no player is untouchable (even his big money signings) or whether he just doesn't scout players very well and ends up buying players who when he then works with decides they're not for him, either way I'd be very surprised if Mkhitaryan is anything more than a bit part fringe player for us this season before being loaned out or sold in an upcoming transfer window

Given our shocking failure rate with transfers over the last three years, I cant believe the club bought him a player that he wasnt completely sold on. If we're to reach the level where we want to be, our big money players really need to be spot on, we cant keep buying Fellaini's, Mata's and ADM's and hope succeed. It's annoying, because Mhki would tear it up at a team like liverpool, arsenal or city; we surely cant forever keep likes of young and rashford or even mata on our right wing? how much more money are we going to waste?

If and it's a big if that the players I mentioned were purchased without being properly scouted then that would go a way to explain why Jose never got consistent backing in the transfer market at Chelsea, Abramovich probably lost trust/got fed up wasting money

Hope I'm wrong, but I don't see this one having a happy ending. Wouldn't mind being given odds on him leaving before start of next season, in Jan even or even having already played his last game for the club. That might sound ridiculous, but they are all possibilities at this point.

Mourinho's comments don't add up with his actions and given his history for buying highly regarded players and then simply not fancying them, I am concerned. I know we have a deep squad and competition for places is tough, but he's been kept off the bench by Memphis who has done nothing this year and Martial who has done little more. This is a special player who should be a cornerstone of our side. For some reason though he's the only player not allowed to incorporate game time into his post-injury rehab.

Thought this would be the signing of the summer, but it's not happening.

Makes sense to leave him for proper training at Carrington rather than have him travel to London and "waste" a few days.

Don't see the big problem here, to be honest. José probably wanted to ease him into the league (because Mhkitaryan is traditionally a slow starter who takes some time to hit the top level), and the introduction vs City was ill-advised given that the player wasn't 100% fit. Now he's building up match fitness, but with big fixtures against Liverpool and Chelsea and City, there's simply no time to slowly transition him into the first team. Mourinho will likely kick start his United career for the second time vs Burnley - which will be only our 10th league game of the season. Then he play a more prominent part through the festive period (which is where teams accumulate injuries), and risking him now by not allowing him to develop optimal fitness might backfire in that the process might have to be repeated in November, in case of further injuries. Mkhitaryan's very much a confidence/rhythm based player, so you'd rather he build them up gradually vs the likes of Burnley and Swansea.

If he plays no part in the Burnley game next weekend then I'll worry. As it is, no point in bringing player who has been struggling with an injury and barely played in the premier league and throwing him right into a game against one of the best teams in the league. So that basically rules out the game against liverpool, chelsea and city midweek. Though City being a cup game might mean he is a sub. But still doubt he'll play much. Home against Burnley is when I'd expect he'll come into the team.

So he's not travelled with the squad then? That's slightly disconcerting and very disappointing. Then again, this is a big game for him to come back too, so it does make sense.

Hopefully he's not going to become our Alberto Aquilani..................but I find it strange at 4-0 up whey he wasn't given a trot against Fenerbahce. Liverpool and Chelsea I can understand - away games, high stakes, but 4-0 against a piss poor team that has no chance of getting back in the game?
