Have we signed anyone yet? | Yes, with stupid tax

The issue most people have about the "new" people running the club is.. we take from the start of last season

1. Not signing a midfielder in 2021 summer window.

2. Not selling Lingard, Pogba, Henderson 2021 summer. We knew as fans they wouldn't renew was the club so blinded?

3. Not sacking Ole in due time.

4. Appoint Ralf as an interim, where he's not good at, then dismiss his assertion on where he's best at.

5. Giving Bruno improved contract in the midst of the worst season ever. Reason of improved contract "on-field success".

6. With over 6 players leaving on 2022 summer window who have brought ZERO cash to the club.

7. With just like 1 week to pre season and with a big rebuild to be done, we have done zero business. No buying or selling. Zero. We have done no business. All the players leaving are free transfer.

If you don't see the pattern then you're blinded.
The behavior is the same.
Because the people running the show are still the same people who were there from 2013.

Nothing is going to change.

7 I’m not peeing my pants, the window has plenty of time yet. Worst case? They come in late for training

Wow, Man Utd must have a very short transfer list.
I really don't understand how the Man Utd management can be so single minded and have no backup plans.
Its like either De Jong or nothing else.
That's common sense to have backup plan.

Most probably, they will just look for some past peak player without contract and pay high salary to sign them

I believe Liverpool are actually already finished their business with regards to incomings. Four signings wrapped up. Finito.

Why does every player Liverpool sign have one of those faces you really want to slap. Nunez is the same, all pinchy, scummy and smug.

Liverpool, after finishing 2nd in the league by a single point and reaching reaching 3 finals (winning both domestic cups), have spent 100M+ on Nunez, Carvalho, and Ramsay.

City, after beating that Liverpool team to the league, have signed Alvarez and fecking Erling Haaland. Their chairman is on record saying they'll get two more players in before July 1st and wrap up their business.

RM, after winning their league by a mile and winning the Champions League for the 4854th time, didn't waste any time signing Tchouameni for 80M+ to add to their midfield of Modric, Kroos, Casemiro, Camavinga, Valverde, Ceballos. They had a serious competition in PSG for Tchouameni but got their business done no nonsense.

Tottenham, after finishing 4th and looking better and better under Conte and getting their winter transfer window spot on, have signed Perisic as a free agent presumably to play as Conte's wingback and are wrapping up Bissouma for a mere 25M. They're apparently also going after Richarlison to add to their world class front line of Kane/Son/Kulusevski, and Spence to their defense. Kane is reportedly now willing to sign a new contract.

Our board needs at least a couple months to enjoy their summer off before they put in some serious work. They're human beings just like us after all. They're also being generous to F. Romano by not signing anyone so that Romano can keep ctrl + v on his twitter "United still interested in FDJ. No deal yet" until September 1. What great human beings our board members are. You know that it's physically impossible to pursue multiple transfer targets simultaneously. I mean, how does that even work? Cloning?
Even arsenal have bought a 40m rated player and are reportedly looking to sign Gabriel jesus.

Only at this club the transfer committee has to function like UN Security Council permanent members where everyone can exercise their VETO on transfers. Inefficient and complicated in taking decisions just like UNSC.

Also, their streamlined process is working like a charm so far. No incomings No outgoings and the pre season starts in under 2 weeks in a summer window where we had to be the most pro active from the very get go due to the various players being out of contract after enduring a disaster of a season. Nope, same old same old but let’s pretend and fool the fans that it’s the start of a new era full of competent people at the helm.

From my point of view there are very sensible reasons why we've not done any business yet, but they look bad to suffering fans. Say we go out and spend massive money on De Jong to get the deal over the line quickly - 90m euros or something crazy like that. His cost will constantly then be brought up in any piece about the transfer window and compared to Nunez (who magically seems to have cost 64m pounds when used in any conversation about United... very different from if United had signed him where it would have been with every bonus amount possible) and Haaland, and used to beat us over the head with. We have a finite amount of money, he's the number one target, is ostensibly available and we want to get this over the line or to decide the deal is dead before moving on to the other players, knowing what is available to spend. We want to make sure that we're getting good value for the players, as opposed to what we've done in the past in some cases. All laudable aims, but optically bad to fans who want to see action to rectify the disaster of last year.
The outgoings are also going to be slow as teams know they are deadwood, and will be lowballing us. Again, we want to ensure that we're getting some value, so it'll take time. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if a few of those players were still around well into August where we either compromise, or the teams wanting the players pay up or the players / agents themselves make the deal happen in order to get games by compromising on wages etc.

Outgoings? You can’t force anyone to sign our players.

Because we haven’t signed anyone barely a couple weeks into the window, it’s a disaster. Cool. Makes sense. Not over reacting at all. A perfectly reasonable response.
Why this line is repeated all the time ? It’s meaningless as shit. It’s only used in our case as an excuse. How Madrid, bayern, Liverpool , spurs, arsenal, city were able to sign players then ? It’s only 10 days or so before pre season. Would you be okay and keep repeating the same line when we sign players late in the window and it takes them months to gel ?

Sources are also telling Rob Dawson that it is now allowed to simply drink water from the glass, rather than pouring it over an asbestos roof, letting it run through a hole, collecting it in a bucket, boiling it, waiting to let it cool and then drinking it.

You can say the same about incomings then, you can’t force anyone to sell their players. Well in that case nobody is at fault if we don’t sign or sell anyone because you can’t force anyone. It’s called negotiating. The point is we suck at selling even if someone is interested. Every summer many of our players are in demand, take lingard for example or Henderson before, we either demand an amount no one is willing to pay or we keep extending their contracts on huge wages which makes it harder. You slice it either way and you can see the incompetence.

Jesus probably on the way too. All the other clubs seem to be doing things just fine…

What really is baffling is the fact that even though we got ten Hag and he probably had a good relationship with them none of his former players seems to be that keen on joining us.

City- Alvarez, Haaland, Cucurella, Phillips
Liverpool- Nunez, Carvalho, Ramsay
Spurs- Perišić, Spence, Bissouma, as well as likely Torres or Bastoni, plus somebody like Richarlison.
Arsenal- Vieira, Jesus, Tielemans, and likely Hickey.

We better get a fecking move on!

It's high time we give Barcelona a take it or leave it offer and give them a time to respond instead of wasting time negotiating with them. Basically Barcelona are going to make us pay as much as City is demanding them for Bernardo Silva.

It seems we are not serious despite the last season performance.

oh well, enjoy the ride.

Probably because they want to play in the CL. Blame our players amongst others for that. The first one who puts out a leak about being disappointed in the quality of players we signed, I will personally punch in the face.

So about 10 on your list haven't actually signed a contract yet. Would be the same as saying:

Man Utd- de Jong, Eriksen and likely Antony, Timber, Torres

City- Alvarez, Haaland, Cucurella, Phillips

Spurs- Perišić, Spence, Bissouma, as well as likely Torres or Bastoni, plus somebody like Richarlison.

Most of those players aren't even signed. Half of them are just media links. You may as well say United - De Jong, Timber, Antony, Eriksen.

Chelsea and United are currently the Stroll and Latifi of the PL in the transfer window. Everyone else is flying halfway around the circuit whilst we’re clowning around smashing into the barriers or spinning off into the gravel.

Are you serious bro..

John Murtough was in charge of bringing Ralf, in November 2021. He himself said after the Watford game they expected a reaction they got none they had to sack Ole. So he's part of the delay team

Murtough introduced Ralf to United, with tours to United facilities. Same as Woodward made with Mourinho.

Murtough was the one pictured with Bruno signing a new contract. United did post the picture. Same as previous when players were photographed with Woodward after renewal of contracts.

Murtough was in charge of January 2022 Transfer window 100%.

Maybe we can argue 2021 summer window but Murtough was incharge of football operations as per United since March 2021, so who should we believe you or United communication team.

What is obvious is, last season was John Murtough season, he sacked Ole in November 3 months into the season meaning he was incharge.

We can't cherry pick when to see Murtough decisions. He also in charge in bringing ETH in April 2022.

So the 2021-2022 United season has been John Murtough first season as United supremo, whatever happened during that period happened during his reign and watch

John Murtough fingerprints are everywhere to be seen.

It's not a coincidence we have a pattern, with delay being one of it.

He refused to sack Ole when it's was openly seen we couldn't get anywhere with him, now he's openly rejecting the calls for major overhaul when it's clearly seen we needed to act fast and decisive in recruitment

Liverpool also have a similar transfer committee, where members have the power to veto players. With Klopps vote counting for 2 votes.

Getting concerned now.
To be honest, the warning signs were there when they binned Ralf in his advisory role. He said the team needed open heart surgery which was true, and they didn’t like it.
With our ‘business’ so far, fair enough if Frenkie is a hard negotiation but get the other 3 or 4 in while that one is ongoing.
We’re dragging our feet incompetently yet again and all signs point to the board and Joel Glazer. Shambles FC.

Rest assured everyone, it’s all streamlined now, we have nothing to worry about. Streamline FC. Could you imagine how streamlined our approach to monitoring players is now, it’s all very exciting.

Believe what you want. Some of you Now Now Now types need to give the man, his team and the new coaching team time to work. The amount of moaning because we haven’t announced a signing yet. Jesus
