No 6-pack, just 2Pac
It all started from a friendly banter but then the Police provoked him saying "Haha you love to see it".
Dude, I very specifically stated in both of my posts that it's a minority of English people I was referring to and still got accused of xenophobia. According to this guy even suggesting a minority of English people behave badly on holiday is xenophobic.I'd like to make an apology. When I wrote "Why can't you Englishmen behave once you leave your island", it come across as a xenophobic generalization. I did not mean all of you.
What I should have written was "Why can't most of you Englishmen behave once you leave your island."
I guess the frustration from the (reputedly) stupid behavior of Maguire made me say some things I shouldn't have. For that I'm truly sorry. From now on I'll try to be more precise when I generalize.
I will now lay down langflat.
Agreed. A higher class of thuggery is what we need. On a personal level, I'd like to see more while-collar crime as well, to really separate ourselves from the chaff.A history of drunk and disorderly plus resisting arrest in only European cities should be a top priority on United transfer policy imo.
Need some real class in this team.
That's how you get into the Messi and Ronaldo crime bracket to be fair. Aspirational.Agreed. A higher class of thuggery is what we need. On a personal level, I'd like to see more while-collar crime as well, to really separate ourselves from the chaff.
I have the same expierence. Brits in the summer on holiday is a nightmare.
Assuming somebody is bad or inferior based on their skin colour is racism. Regardless of the race in question.
I know. That wasn't a real apology. Just having a laugh. Not all Englishmen are drunk and annoying when travelling, but all drunk and annoying travelers are Englishmen. So I doubt if you're off the hook either.
He definitely hit a cop, you know that for sure?Mate he hit a cop, at least that's what's been reported.
I live in New York, if you or even a NBA Star hit a cop they'd be in an absolute world of trouble.
Of course but you seem to be struggling with the basic understanding that there are levels to everything. Just because the racism against whites is something you see as less serious for the reasons you've explained doesn't stop it from being racism. It's still making negative assumptions based on nothing more than race. It's still racism. And it still exists.Steve, it is not that simple. By equating racism against blacks to somebody disliking whites, erases 200 years of slavery and 100 more years of systemic discrimination that clearly continues to this day.
You may get some rando not liking you because you are a white Englishman, but you do not by default EXPECT the system to be against you. You do not EXPECT opposition fans to make monkey gestures. Not as a white player. Can't you see the huge difference?
Same for xenophobia. Being discriminated on for not being English in England is not the same as some minority assuming you are bad. Minority has no power on you, you do have power on them.
Do you get the difference?
Easy words to throw around.
Doubt if anyone will agree with your pretend offence though. Playing offended isn't a get out of jail card for every situation. Try honest discussion next time.
That's ridiculous, a man has every right to defend himself.
It's the law.
I’m sorry, but have you met Greek police? So the police have fabricated the fact he physically assaulted a police officer in order to justify arresting him? Christ. What planet are you on?

Personally I see all racism as unacceptable. Again, before you start I'm not saying that equalises the different types of racism. I just detest the idea of any person anywhere judging someone by their skin colour. Whatever the direction it is bad and leaves the world a worse place.
Sorry what situation am I trying to get out of?
Your posts add no value, and have been poor. Ignore list. Cheers.
That's literally what your argued with. It's fine though. Let's move on and stop trying to accuse each other of causing harm on a football forum.Nobody is arguing with that. The only thing is: equating very different levels of racism and xenophobia is extremely harmful. Which is why "all lives matter" and "all racism is racism" are harmful, even if they sound correct
If we buy sancho im not even sure rashford starts let alone is our captainIf he's lamped a copper then his position as captain is probably untenable in this era. Long live Captain Rashford.
Guarantee you now he wouldn’t have hit a cop unprovoked, no way is he that silly.Mate he hit a cop, at least that's what's been reported.
I live in New York, if you or even a NBA Star hit a cop they'd be in an absolute world of trouble.
Rumour has it he head butted 14 lads all at once.
Same. Lots of young Brits come in Croatia every summer. Man, they are like Huns. And i mean that in no harm way. People just like to party like crazy when they are on vacation.I have the same expierence. Brits in the summer on holiday is a nightmare.
What he can be questioned about is why taking a trip to Greece in this pandemic time. He should be setting a good example and staying in UK. Poor judgement.
Exactly. If Greece is not on the red list he did nothing wrong.Nonsense. If Greece is allowing foreigners to come on holiday what exactly has he done wrong beyond doing something you don't agree with?
De Gea for me. And i don't care about that shit how gk can't be captain and shit like that. He should have been captain when Young left anyway. If he ends up being stripped of it, there's three contenders right for the club captaincy, right: Bruno, Rashford and Pogba if he commits for the next few years?
I have been going to Greece since 1989.I’m sorry, but have you met Greek police?
This is purely anecdotal, but I was outside of a club and this guy was shouting at my cousin because she didn’t have a lighter but was smoking a lit cigarette (she had borrowed a lighter from a randomers). I told him to calm down as my friend went off to get the police because the guy was threatening to punch her. I looked over to see where my mate and the police were and this guy sucker punches me. I fall off the curb and land on my ass. Within seconds about 5 police appear with their weird thin truncheons out and just start beating everyone. My cousin, my friend who went to get them, some random people who had been watching and me while I’m still on the floor. They bundle off that guy and so I go up to them and ask them why they just hit us all. They, and I kid you not, denied that any of that had just happened. I pointed to all of the marks across my body and they said ‘no you got that in the fight’. I asked my mate who is Greek what we should do, he asked his aunt who is a judge and she just told us there was absolutely nothing we could do. They will deny it and even if it went to court they can say that even though they were using disproportionate force they were deescalating a fight...
As much as English tourists are scummy and can start fights, the police are itching for it too.
Just a good thing Harry didn’t nut him or it’d be a manslaughter chargeIf anyone hit him in the head they’re gonna have sore knuckles from those sharp edges.
I’m also looking forward to the nickname bluemoon come up with for him now.
Guarantee you now he wouldn’t have hit a cop unprovoked, no way is he that silly.
the Greek police are dodgy as hell and probably decided to give maguire and his mates a beating themselves - then realised who he was and are now spinning the story.
maguire will be released soon and then we will get the full picture.
Only because you are allowed to do something that doesn't mean it is right.Nonsense. If Greece is allowing foreigners to come on holiday what exactly has he done wrong beyond doing something you don't agree with?
Do you go to the main strips where all the bars are ? Or are you out for a meal and then tucked up in bed by 12.I have been going to Greece since 1989.
Never had a problem. Only trouble I ever saw was on Crete in 90.Then it was English lads fighting amongst themselves.
Why? This makes very little sense to question him for doing something many countries, including the UK government is encouraging. What he can be questioned about is why taking a trip to Greece in this pandemic time. He should be setting a good example and staying in UK. Poor judgement.
