Yoro is still very very young. He will make mistakes. I do think people are being over the top with the critique of Maguire who has largely been excellent this season.
Our frontline is much more of an issue then our defence.

He has done quite well this season, and he has a fantastic mentality. I have been a very harsh critic of Maguire in the past but right now he is doing very well and our youngsters need a good example like him in the dressing room.

I agree he’s done well (minus the occasional brain fart) but we’ve been playing in a low block off the ball which has suited him. I’d expect more of a high line next season and think he’ll struggle with that as he has done before. Maybe it can be mitigated by having two fast CB alongside him?

Right. Because Maguire is the one to build our future around...Maybe we can get him on the list for MBE for his redemption arc as well?

Pretty sure we'll buy another CB this summer by the way. His extension only made sense, when we try to sell Maguire in the summer. But given Martinez injury, thats probably not going to happen. So we continue playing the overall decent to good upper midtable CB while we pay him like one of the best defenders in the league. And to round up the picture, a few fans will call what they see excellent. It boggles the mind.

Let hope we find a magic money tree then because it would be ridiculous to divert even more funds to one after buying 5 in the last 3 years (and still not improving on what we had).

The issue is our back line do not press leaving a big gap with the defence and midfield. He isn’t going to be here after next season once we sort other positions out.
