Did he give a post match interview? I've not seen one but I swear he never gives one as captain, only when we win wanking himself off as the reason the team one
And you didn't even cover the fact that his pass was basically on the ground. Proper crazy footballLike I said elsewhere:
De Gea's pass was not great, but the goal is 90% on Maguire. It started with him taking too much time before giving the ball back to de Gea. Then he did not run in de Gea's direction to receive the ball so Sevilla had enough time and space to get in shape for the press. And he is just so slow and not mobile enough that he has poor decision making when under press. And opposition teams absolutely realize this and get something out of him every time.
How there is even a discussion if he is good enough or we should keep him is beyond me. Nothing against the person and all the best to him, nobody should receive abuse for not being very good at kicking a ball around.
He didn’t get near the team when our first choice CBs and Shaw were fit.He basically is. Every game he starts

The nervousness is absolutely palpable. Unfortunately we have to tolerate it this season. I hope he is the first one out the door along with DDG and Sancho when the transfer window opens. He has to go. Not only has he become a laughing stock but he creates nervousness in the team when he plays.
Upamecano esque. Biggest reason why we are knocked out
Not even close. Maguire's og (bad luck or not) cost us a win in first game. In second game, he killed morale and any momentum with gifting early first goal.Biggest is De Gea, Maguire is second biggest.

And it is funny how his mistakes are always "shared". De Gea, Varane, Lindelof, Shaw....it is always someone.
Yeah pathetic to suggest that DDG wasn't to be blamed for the first goal. He has a better view and could have used his head to make better judgement. I would say DDG shares bigger blame for this.Wtf are you even talking about. First goal should be shared between the chuckle brothers and his role in 2nd and 3rd goal is hilarious.
Apart from all that, him being glued to line is a big problem for every single set piece.
After that performance, I don't know how anyone can say De Gea wasn't the biggest reason is beyond me.

Easy.
De Gea wasn't the biggest reason.
He plays the same past to Martinez the whole season. Have we conceded a goal like that from his mistake? No.
The same pass gets played by a possession based team every game at least 10 times.
Ederson or Allison play the same pass 20 times in a game if pressed the same way.
You take Harry out of the equation, you've just put 3 of Sevillas players out with a simple turn, or a pass.
It's the way today's football is played.
Ball playing goalkeepers and ball playing center backs.
Yes, DDG isn't a ball playing GK, but that pass was a perfectly fine pass.
The kind you want him to play.
At the moment i dont even care for a fee. Similar to Pogba and lingard he is another soul s**king virus who needs to leave the club immediately.Luke Shaw inspires more confidence in the team when he plays CB. Says it all. I thought this guy would be a solid, if unremarkable, CB when he signed, like a Cahill. He's not even that. He needs to play in a defence more suited to him, and we need to get a decent figure for him. Both big asks.
The pass was accurate and not on the wrong side if you look at the position of the opponents players. There was also plenty of time, space and options for him to deal with. He could have simply let the ball running through there was no one behind him. Or pass the ball to the space between Lindelof and the half line. Or simply pass it back to DDG.
He just fecked up and tbh imo it's a bit daft to blame DDG in this situation.
He has to go. Not only has he become a laughing stock but he creates nervousness in the team when he plays.
The passs was "accurate", but that's not really the problem, it's the quality of that pass that is. Just kicking the ball at him does not make it a good pass.
Pass should have been zipped out to his left foot so he could turn into the space first time. It was slow, bobbly and to his wrong side. Maguire actually had to check his movement to try and deal with it. Put any amount of players in there and they will struggle to come out of there with the ball.
This is exactly the sort of finer detail that makes the difference between fcuking up and conceding a goal and just about beating that press and taking those 3 players out of the game. People can blame Maguire all they like, but if I'm Maguire I'd be giving that cnut an absolute ear full for putting me in the shit like that.
Yeah, the moment he steps on the pitch he brings the team level down. He is a nervous wreck, always does something silly which gives momentum back to opponents. Unsettles the defense all the time.
Even if we had one more fit CB he should be benched and shouldn't play a single min.

We conceded goal vs Brentford in the exact same way. Just because Licha was very skillful to avoid the press once doesn't mean it's a good pass.
Players like Ederson, Alisson would have casually played the lofted pass to FBs or a man who is free without breaking a sweat.
You don't have to pass the ball to CB all the time, De Gea does it because he is so poor at picking the free man who is 20-25 yards away from him.
When there are 3 Sevilla players surrounding Maguire then it means at least couple of players who had enough space, i didn't check replay but from what i remember FBs were free.
This post typifies his United career perfectly.
It’s always ‘the finer details’, was the pass to him good enough? His first touch would have been better if. . . etc.
We’re in 2023 & people are still having to forensically dissect his actions. Had he not messes up there, he’d have found some way to mess up later, surely people can see that by now.
Arguing over whether he or DdG should shoulder most blame is the problem. Neither are good enough. DdG would play that exact same pass to a Martinez & it’s only Martinez’s ability that would make it ok, that’s still DdG being crap. Same as a better goalkeeper would fire balls in at Maguire & he’d struggle to compose himself at some point.
Finer details are he’s never been good enough & anyone trying to claim he was at any point, I have a bridge to sell you.
