Sure. I think that if we swap Lukaku and Kane right now, Kane would struggle in this Mourinho's team. He might to marginally better, but ultimately he would be much worse off that he is now.
A big part of Kane's current success is a football Spurs play.
Not really. He has a potential to be that, but he is not there yet.

Who's better? Honestly?

I think Sanchez will lift the attack to better things
People were saying same thing about Lukaku, Pogba.
Even if Sanchez will make our attack better, i certainly hope so, the main reason for our attacking gloom still remains. Just look at how Kane plays, how he interacts with his Spurs partners, do you honestly believe he could do something even remotely similar under Jose. He spent a lot of time jumping for long balls, fighting alone with 2-3 defenders, running in a single man pressing and so on.

Who's better? Honestly?
First of all "the best one" supposed to be better himself.
The answer is obvious however, just look at top scorers in top 5 european leagues last year. Quite a lot of players that are not worse at least.

Kane was the top scorer in Europe last year. He's the best striker in the world right now.

Most goals in the calendar year 2017 I believe
Football is played across seasons, not calendar years. To count points, goals, etc in calendar years is ludicrous, only a moron would actually do it. Though is don't see how Kane could have scored most goals in calendar year as well. That could only be possible if you don't count some of them for other players.

Funny no mention of total salary, signing on bonus, agent fee and the jet rental and fuel it would cost to make this happen.
Sure no club other than us pay any of those silly things. Can’t believe Madrid are signing Kane for only 20m more than Sanchez is costing and Sanchez is twice his age according to the press.:lol:

It’s not ridiculous when looking at a players form over a given period. He’ll win no awards for it but if he’s scored more goals than the likes of Messi over 12 months that’s impressive.

It's stupid because it's a irrelevant period. Why 12 months and not 15 for example or 20 or 10?
Calendar year means nothing in football. A season however does.

As i've said it's stupid to count goals in calendar years. Football tournaments played across seasons. And if we look at last season his goal tally was not highest. And i doubt it will be highest this year as well.
He is one of the better, top strikers obviously, but calling him "the best" is jumping a gun.

You're welcome to your opinion of course but for me he is the world's best striker.

According to me then?
According to the statistics he outscored everyone in the calendar year.
Well you should check your stats, because calendar year stuff is stupid. The fact is that Harry Kane has never scored more than 40 goals in a season. And football is a seasoned game, all tournaments start and finish in a season, not a year.
And quite a few players broke 40 goals per season mark not once but several times. So he can't be "the best" striker just solely because of that.

Calendar year means nothing in football. A season however does.

Why is it less relevant than a season? It’s just another period to look at it, and in January 2018, it gives a good idea of a players form.

If a player scores 10 goals in 10 games, would you agree that he’s in good form?

How is this any different???

And as for your last point - 12 months is a year so it’s a half tidy reference point. 20 months isn’t. Neither is 10.

Nobody is giving him a medal for it. It’s just a stat, like loads that get thrown about in football.

It probably wont happen anyway so we will never know.

Am I reading that right? 56 goals in 52 games?

If so, unbelievable. A top player, no doubt.

Kane and Lewa were actually tied on 56 goals for the calender year, but the former had a better goals to games ratio so he won the award.

Yeah he's probaby my favourite non-United player at present. I'd give blood to see him play for us.

He’s class. One of those players that as a regular fan, I find it hard often to see how he does what he does. He’s not that fast, or skilful but seems to have the knack that the truly great forwards do.

Why is it less relevant than a season?
Because the tournaments is played across the season. So a season is a fraction of time when a league, cups start and end.
What does calendar year represent in football exactly? Nothing. As i've said as of now Kane never even scored a 40+ goals in a season. Sure it's a lot, but others Messi, Lewa, Ronaldo all've done it several times. He is a great players, one of the best, but he still has a lot to go to be the best striker.

Ok, so a player who scores 40 goals in 40 games between August and May is better than a player who scores the same goals over the same games between January and December?

And re the bolded point - it shows (in this case) that he has scored more goals than anyone else - nothing more, nothing less. Nobody is saying anything else - apart from you it seems, who didn’t believe it (but now does).

Do you not agree that it shows he’s in good form and is playing well?

If there is any chance Kane will be sold we can't let him leave England. He's twice the player Lukaku is.

Think you're wasting your time here mate. I think some people struggle with the notion that an English player could possibly be the best striker on the planet.

I struggle with it myself to be fair!

Its not stupid because it happened.

I'll leave you to it.

Indeed. It’s a surprising stat to be fair. Obviously whether he’s the “best” is fairly moot, it being a subjective opinion. It does highlight what a quality player he is though. A proper top class forward. Hopefully he can turn it on in the summer but I won’t hold my breath!

But but but Real want 100m FFP rule? Maybe after they sign him and bunch of other players..

They will be in for him, every top team apart from Barca (Real, Utd, PSG, Chelsea, City) will be at least looking into what he'd cost to bring in.

Spurs fans need to let go of any delusional ego and accept that it's better for them to bring in 250m instead of clinging desperately to him for 1 more season.

Lol. The "desperation" is all your mind sunshine. He's under contract for many years into the future and is happy at Spurs.

I still don't understand why we didn't go for him in the summer. If we were prepared to spend €90m for Lukaku we should have been prepared to spend €150m for Kane.

It's not difficult to understand. You obviously enquired, being in the market for a striker, but were told 'no chance'. So you opted for Lukaku instead.
