Stating the obvious here but there is zero chance this will happen in the summer. He would be an amazing signing but to think he would actually even want to come here when things are going so well for him at Spurs would be madness. We would be massively wasting our time with this one, let's not believe Levy would even consider selling him now Kane has clearly proven he's no one season wonder.

The only way we could sign him would be if he forced the move and that my friends is not going to happen so let's move on to a slightly more realistic target please. I'd actually even think we would have a better chance somehow bringing Ronaldo back than managing to sign Kane this summer, that's how unlikely this possible transfer is. It's so important we get top four though, without Champions League football to offer we will struggle to get that top level striker we need and Woodward throwing silly money around won't help up when clubs aren't going to have to sell with the new tv money coming in.

Would love him leading the line. He's proven he's more than just a goal scorer, his hold up play and creativity seems to be severely underrated, he can really pick a pass.

He'll disappear next year...

Can't see him being interested in coming here this year. But I'm sure we will put numerous offers in an miss out on lukaku in the process.

Not on the windup here, serious question... Why would Kane leave Spurs for United, even if you guys do finish 4th?

More money, bigger club, more success in the long run.

Surely Spurs would also cough up ludicrous wages to keep him especially with the new TV deal iin place. Bigger club without question, but isn't he a Spurs fan? More success in the long run... Maybe? You've not won anything since SAF left, and success is no way guaranteed.

He'll earn a lot of money where ever he goes but United could pay him a lot more than Spurs could. We've not won anything since 2013 but what have Spurs won?

This last is debatable: you're a club in decline.

But in any case, it's all balanced against playing in the CL rather than the EL, staying with a manager and team he knows and likes, staying with a club he's played with for many a year, and having a long contract.

Then there's the fact that Levy won't sell and that Kane will be very, very far from kicking up a fuss about it.

And beyond that, there's the fact that Spurs won't ever again sell a star player to a Prem rival (I know some of you dispute this, but I know it to be true).

Clearly this transfer is not going to happen. But if United are stupid enough to waste their summer chasing it, then I'd be delighted.

We will get big players again. I hope we get top 4, but we will still get big players.

Nobody is arguing that Kane will never leave Tottenham. The question is, if he´d leave next summer to United. I doubt that this is going to happen. He´ll get offers every year with his performances and he is still fairly young. It is not now or never for him. He´ll be able to decide when he wants to leave.

If we get 4th then we have a chance with him. And I think he has proven himself again this season. A lot of people here wanted to see if he could replicate last season's form and for the most part he has. He is going to be a top striker and the mantle will move from Rooney to Kane now for England and hopefully for United as well.

He is now the league's top goal scorer.
He was also last year's top goal scorer.
Enough said.

I feel if any time was the time to get him it was last season. Think after this season that ship has sailed.

@Tommy

Money and prestige. You can't be a superstar at Spurs. Those are two reasons why he might want to leave, not saying that he would.
Yep, looking at some of the comments - you do get the impression that United's stature in the game is getting underrated by a significant margin. There's a ceiling to what Kane can achieve with Tottenham - both on the field, and in terms of tangential benefits - and I don't necessarily mean to offend Spurs fans either (unlike them taking potshots at United with steadily increasing frequency - much like snide, opportunistic rodents basking in their 5 seconds of fame under the sun - for the second time in three seasons, unfortunately). They're a good club in fairness to them, but the Premier League equivalent of a Valencia. Whereas United are in the Barcelona/ Juventus class (or thereabouts) - a blip or two in a transition phase might diminish that aggregate historical status a bit, but calls for a terminal decline are premature - just like they were with those clubs when they suffered in the early 2000s/ post Calciopoli respectively. Whether he eventually moves (to United, or somewhere else) remains to be seen, and maybe he'll be a lifer for Tottenham (who knows?) - but the fact remains that once United get their house in order, we'll be an extremely attractive proposition - regardless of new stadiums and whatnot (it's still not an Old Trafford or Santiago Bernabéu, is it?).
