Harry Kane MBE | Performances

Where was suarez against getafe? Don't really get your point.
He's nowhere near the likes of peak Suarez. At this present moment a comparison can be made for sure, given Suarez appears to either have declined or is in poor form. If Suarez hits his best again it won't be close as he's got far too much talent for Kane.

Yeah, Suarez at his best is a ballon d'or winning caliber player, pity he seems to be losing it.

In fairness, he does run around alot more, and do a few nutmegs, but does that make him a better striker, or to rephrase, when Kane reaches his prime, we wont be judging him on his skill set but his goals.

I guess the argument would be, would you take Alan Shearer in his prime or Luis Suarez?
 What a disservice to do to things you don't value but are absolutely crucial. Have you watched Suarez at his best? The link up play, the chances created for team mates, the first touch which gets the whole team on the front foot, beating a few defenders etc. All this doesn't help your team score more goals? Madness.

The overall impact a footballer is seen. You could make a case if Suarez didn't score enough goals. But he scores tons of goals and his overall contribution pisses all over kanes. Different tiers for me.

I obviously speak of Suarez till now.

WC striker ? Same bracket as Suarez ? Really ? So where was this WC striker against Swansea ?

Right now, he's better than Suarez. Suarez has been pretty poor for 6 months or so now.

"Challenged" what's wrong with him apart from him not closing his mouth?

The way he looks and speaks. Kinda reminds me a bit of Beckham in that once he opens his mouth you never look at them the same again. Become almost comedic characters, Beckham had good looks to counter his Mickey mouse voice though.

Isn't even the best striker in the league let alone the world. Very good player, no doubt but incredibly overhyped because he is English.

Talk about knee-jerk. Kane hit the bar, but if he doesn't score in absolutely every game then cue posts like yours.

It's personal taste... But I'd still have a fit Aguero as the best in the pl... And having watched him yesterday and seeing he has 6 goals in 6 games this season he looks to be fully fit

Yeah I agree with that, I'd also have Aguero above Kane.

Kane is fairly limited as a player - but what he is good at, he is EXCEPTIONALLY good at.

If Soldado and Adebayor weren't so terrible Kane may have never got his chance for Spurs. I just thought about that.

He’s hit the woodwork 4 or 5 times already this season too. Could have been on 8 or 9 goals so far.

If nothing else, he might finally answer the question "What would Shearer have done in a better team?"

Hopefully the answer is still "win nothing", unless he transfers to us.

Very much looks like he and Lukaku will be hitting top 5 in the all time PL goals, injuries and such permitting.

Kane is just superb at the areas that matters
- Physical, easy to aim at
- Effective in front of goal. No Welbeck stuff.
- Long shooting-range
- Enough level of technique

That actually spells PELE

Him & Lukaku will need to prove in CL before they are called as world class. But no doubt, it will only matters of time.

Cleanest striker of the ball in the league. Very rarely mis hits them and he's great with both feet aswell.

Bullshit. Harry Kane in particular is definitely world class. To argue that is being completely oblivious.

seriously what does he have to do to be considered world class in some people's eyes...it's not his fault spurs can't win shit...

He is a phenomenon. Has a strikers instinct and world class finishing/shooting, excellent with headers too. The only thing that isnt up to the rest of his game is speed and technique/creativity, but is is still decent enough.

Why do they need to prove anything? They've been domestic monsters for about 2-3 seasons now. And what is 'proving themselves', anyway? For comparisons sake, would you consider Higuain (68 CL games, 18 goals); Aubameyang (27 games, 11 goals) world class? The term is so arbitrary, and at times whiffs of continental snobbery.

Personally for me world class players should be able to grab the scruff of the game by the neck and make goals out of nothing. Far too often i've seen if Tottenham play well he plays well, when they dont he rarely gets in games. Its one of my main complaints with Lukaku when we signed him. If Kane (and Lukaku) can start making things out of nothing i'd change my tune.

But as it stands players like Suarez, Lewandowski and Aguero are on another level.

I assume your list of world class players literally comprises of a handful of players, then? All being attackers?

That's one of the issue why a lot of players wanted to move to bigger club.

Last season I was thinking the same. But I just feel that world class will need to prove it in the world or European comp not just in the league. That's why they call it 'world class" for reason.

The only exceptional I can give is just De Gea. But ironically is De Gea struggled to even make top 100 ballon d'or due to the same reason.

I define world class as players who would make up a squads 23. Therefore, its typically the top 3-4 players in that position. Obviously i dont judge defenders on their ability to score goals...
