Myth. Moura has been bigged up to insane levels because of one great performance he had vs Ajax.
He's an incredibly inconsistent player who nobody can remotely say for certain would have changed anything vs Liverpool. To say he 'probably' would have won the CL if he didn't play the game is completely unfounded.
Irony is, he probably would have won the biggest pot of all (CL) if he hadn't actually started in the CL final. By relegating Moura to the bench disgracefully, the club chose a coming-back-from-injury Kane over a real shot for the trophy.
Quite so. Kane certainly wasn't what lost Spurs the CL. 7 or 8 players forgetting how to make 6 yard passes and, unfortunately, Sissoko lost Spurs the CL.
Nobody was match fit or in form because it was nearly a month after their last match -- and it showed. Lucas wasn't better than the rest of the shitshow when he came on either.
Poch's decision ultimately came down to "probably fit" Kane vs fit Lucas and Poch just decided to play the better player. If one watches the final again - though I wouldn't blame anyone, Spurs fans or neutrals, for not subjecting themselves to that torture - and really observe each player's fundamentals, one will find that Kane was one of the only players doing even the basics right.
After Spurs gave away the pen, they were never winning that game with any team they had available. The nerves were just too much. I've never seen Spurs go to pieces with nerves anywhere near that badly before. Kane, to his credit, was the calmest player on the pitch even though he probably wanted to win more than anyone else there (boyhood fan, academy product, hyper-ambitious leader, genuinely loves the club).
Of course, there may have been some element of favouritism from Poch in that one game but how can we ever know? If you genuinely believed both were fit (and Poch would've had access to all kinds of data we weren't privy to) and you were picking the best man for the job, you'd have done what Poch did.
I get so fecking tired of these football myths and legends that can be dispelled simply by watching actual gameplay with an objective mindset. I'm constantly in a state of near-retirement from the social aspect of football because the general quality of debate among partisans is so low.
