I think it's a mix of this, and the injuries/motivational issues. Spurs are and have been in inertia for a little while, and Kane has been in and out of football with constant niggling injuries. He just looks like he's lacking that killer instinct and sharpness his game had 18-24 months ago. The lack of a cohesive Spurs unit is only exemplifying this.A fully fit Kane playing in a functional side (I.e definitely not Spurs for a while now) can score 40+ all comps while being a domineering striker who isn’t allergic to scoring vs the top six and doesn’t only touch the ball two or three times a game.
Sadly, the Spurs team round him now is a dysfunctional mess. We don’t play to his strengths whatsoever. It’s actually laughable we have this world class striker who we play in this weird undefined role because Poch doesn’t really have an attacking system. The lack of any service from out wide for a guy like Kane is genuinely tragic too.

I noticed ever since the World Cup, he's been playing in this strange, almost supplementary 9.5 position. I don't know if that's a personal want for him to become more involved in build-up, or if it's a tactical thing from the manager. Whilst he does have good technical ability for a striker, Harry Kane is blatantly at his best as close to the opposition goal as possible, taking as many shots as possible. Having the best finisher in the league taking fewer shots and fewer touches in the box isn't going to work well.
I am a big Kane fan, and do believe he's a fair bit better than Abludclartyang at his very best. Not sure he's shown his best in a while, though. And in the last 12 months, Auba has definitely better the better striker.
A bad year and he still scores loads. He's had injuries too. And playing in this current Spurs side isn't doing him any favours. Imagine him at Man City, it would be brutal. It's been a bad year for him, needs to find his rhythm I suppose.
Somewhere, someone's irony meter just imploded.

Would it? Doesn't seem like the kind of forward that would suit the Pep machine, too tall to sit in the front seat.
The amount of chances they'd create for him to put away would be mental.Would it? Doesn't seem like the kind of forward that would suit the Pep machine, too tall to sit in the front seat.
Not a coincidence that Spurs and Alli turn to shit when Harry decided he was Rooney lite and started dropping deep trying to be a playmaker.
Add Eriksen to that as well. He steps on a lot of toes.
But it didn't turn to crap until he started to drop deep. England were playing well in the WC and Kane was still taking the ball off Maguire at times so it's not to make up for deficiencies, it's just what he does these days.Could also say it's no coincidence that Harry has to drop back to get the ball when the midfield turns to crap.
Was the same at the WC
Moura or Son.But it didn't turn to crap until he started to drop deep. England were playing well in the WC and Kane was still taking the ball off Maguire at times so it's not to make up for deficiencies, it's just what he does these days.
When Kane drops deep, who runs beyond that stops the defenders stepping up into midfield? Maybe Son but he's benched because of Kane as well
I'm surprised that the opinion of Kane being miles better than Aboomarang (stole that off @Rado_N ) is that surprising to some! Aboomarang is good, but Kane's brilliant.
Kane is better than Auba. Not some miles better but he’s an overall more balanced striker.
Kane’s hold up and link up are better and it’s easy to see.
I do love both strikers but if given a choice I would rather have Harry Kane in my side.
Auba is quicker and has better natural instincts in the penalty area. He creates more as well. You can put him on the wing and he does a job. Kane on the wing would look awful. Kane is also one of the most selfish strikers who is number obsessed. He takes a shot everytime no matter the angle or if team mates is in better position
Have you ever watched Kane play or are you simply basing this on one occasion Kane stole a goal from Eriksen?

His penalty taking skills are 2nd to none (has he ever missed one?), but how many goals does he get from open play these days?
What's his ratio of open play to penalty goals?
7 of his 14 goals this season (club & country) have been penalties.
Before that, it's something like 178 senior goals with 25 of them penalties
Missed one in the last international breakHis penalty taking skills are 2nd to none (has he ever missed one?), but how many goals does he get from open play these days?

Do you think Poch is trying to change the team's reliance on Kane? i mean last season he was injured a lot and lucas and son stepped in to fill his shoes.
It was always his goal scoring ability which made him stand out, which those stats back up. More recently, he seems to be scoring as many penalties as goals, also backed up by those stats.
Spurs have been awful when I have watched them play. Surprising Kane has 5 goals with how woeful they are. It's so bad they are almost as bad as us.
Tonight's a perfect example of everything I've been saying about Kane recently. The only difference between this game and most games is that his hard work and skill have led to a hat trick of excellent assists, which even idiots can understand is a good innings without needing to study Kane's play or know anything about football.
Indeed. People will focus entirely on stuff like Auba scoring a few more goals without looking at how good Kane is as an all round player.
He’s thriving for England too because, as much as I hate to admit it, they’re a happier and more competent team than Spurs are right now.
I suppose it's got nothing to do with the fact England's opposition is basically Championship level.Indeed. People will focus entirely on stuff like Auba scoring a few more goals without looking at how good Kane is as an all round player.

(Parts in bold sound especially like a WUM to me)matches that matter
world cup 20 18
kane v tunisa 2 goals
kane v panama 3 goals ( 2 pens)
kane v belgium nil
kane v columbia 1 goal penalty
kane v sweden nil
kane v croatia nil
It's either a penalty or against championship standard teams
When he is really needed, he is nowhere to be found.
It is all opinion, and I suppose if he ever gets a move to a proper big club, I could be proved wrong.
No one is better than Lewa though...His penalty taking skills are 2nd to none (has he ever missed one?), but how many goals does he get from open play these days?
