Harry Kane MBE | Performances

I actually think he is just now starting to pass Kane. Fair enough over the last 3-4 seasons Kane has been better but now, I’m not so sure....

 Kane scored 41 goals in 48 games in the season just finished for Spurs - his best ever so far.

Yeah, this is where non English fans hate the biased commentary.
There's problems to analyse but all we'll hear about is the first 30 minutes, VAR and Kane.

I'm English and still hate it. Dull as dishwater on BBC.

His instincts in the box and ability to anticipate where he needs to be before the ball is there is a sign of a class center forward which he has been for the past few years. Poachers goals today but it doesn't matter how it goes in. He came up aces for England when it mattered.

Just looks better at holding the ball up, he is faster, his composure is getting better. Lukaku is starting to look the business. Kane is English.

I don't understand why this means him scoring 41 goals in a season means a player who scored 26 in all competition (less than Kane scored in the league alone) is the better player.

Lukaku has more potential than Kane because he is a more dynamic player but thats just potential doesn't mean it will ever be realised.

It means he’s over rated.

You have to remember Kane's a few months younger than Lukaku, it's not like Lukaku is a prospect anymore he will be coming into his prime years.

Players develop at different times, and again I said that doesn't mean the potential will be realised. I'm not convinced he will realise his potential when he is still struggling with basic things like holdup play and first touch.

… I think Lukaku has more potential ….

Lukaku is more than a year older than Kane, but the latter has outscored him consistently. How can an older player have more potential than a younger player who has been outscoring almost everyone right across Europe?

20+ Goals in PL era:
5 seasons in a row - Thierry Henry..................(1/2-5/6)
4 seasons in a row - Alan Shearer...................(93/94-96/97)
4 seasons in a row - Harry Kane......................(14/15-17/18)

Only 4 players have managed to score 20+ goals in 4 seasons total in the PL era:

Alan Shearer (7 seasons)
Thierry Henry (5 seasons)
Ruud van Nistelrooy, Harry Kane (4 seasons)

How many times has Lukaku scored 20+ goals in the PL?

Once. Kane has done it 4 seasons in a row and is ranked on goal scoring with the very best the PL has seen. He isn't over rated.

He is a bit, when people for instance say he is the best striker in the world, but that not anything new with players in the PL especially English ones.

But I don't really think Lukaku has progressed much since he wasn't at Everton, I think he I see a very good player no doubt and should be scoring more at a United.

They are about the same age. Why do you think Lukaku has more potential? Let’s actually look at what’s happening on the pitch instead of the hyperthetical. Lukuku is a good striker, but Kane is World Class.

He's already improved since joining us and, by all accounts, is bloody driven to do so further. That is what Cassidy meant maybe? Not sure.

IMO Kane at United this season would also score less than he did for Spurs, but remember I am agreeing with you when I say Kane is a far better player than Lukaku

Kane is a great forward but he’s but he’s no Shearer (as an English comparison). For me Lukaku is starting to look more like the a better all round forward. Just my opinion, I suppose time will tell.

Kane is the best goal scorer outside of Messi and Ronaldo. I've never seen anyone suggest he's better than either, so I don't understand how anyone can claim he's overrated.

He really is the shittest player to be this damn good since Thomas Muller.

England are lucky to have him as we're going to need saving routinely.

This is where you go too far, a forward who has what 1 goal all season vs a top 6 side? You clearly over rate Lukaku

I would agree with that but I don't think many people think that. He is up there with the very best though imo, top 5 striker i'd say in the World.

He stands a very, very decent chance of winning the Golden Boot at this World Cup. Let's hope he does.
