Harry Kane | "I will be staying at Tottenham this summer and will be 100% focused on helping the team achieve success."

Kane wouldn't get the game time with Cavani here ? in what world he wouldn't be a start and Cavani back up for him ?

I agree that we likely won't go for him, but it won't be because he wouldn't get the game time with Cavani here.

And city have never spent that kind of money on one go, so let's see.
Suppose we can use Kane in the cup competitions, in all seriousness it was a subtle attempt at humour.

City have spent that amount of money in one window on multiple players but with them only needing to sign one player in the summer then its not beyond the realm of possibility for them to go all out for him.

Kane's media campaign illustrates how desperate he is to get out of Spurs. He's doing his utmost to become a problem that Daniel Levy wants rid of. However, I'm not sure Levy's going to give him what he wants.

I can't remember the last time Levy compromised on his asking price. That's £150m if what's been briefed to the media is true. In the immediate aftermath of the pandemic I can't see many clubs wanting to pay that.

Kane has boxed himself in because of that silly six year deal he signed recently. Players really shouldn't put pen and paper to deals of that length. Not if they aren't absolutely certain they're pretty much one club men.

Counter intuitive for Kane to come here unless Solskjaer can suddenly become a manager capable of winning serious silverware. City makes the most sense with a world class manager and a team with a consistent winning mentality. He's moving because of trophies and I think the club is still three signings short given the management.

Why should Kane join utd?
city have a better structure
city are winning trophies
city have a better team
pep v ole....
and with him joining the best team in the epl they will be untouchable..

No brainer for Kane..

Very frank and open interview there. Quite clearly he feels he needs to move on though.

I think Kane would thrive wherever he went but even more so at City or Chelsea. City for obvious reasons, Chelsea because we create so many clear cut chances that nobody is currently scoring. He'd lead the line at Utd just as well but i get the feeling that whilst he'd add more goals to your attack, he'd be taking a fair few goals from Bruno. It wouldn't be as simple as both scoring 20-30 each... Who'd take the penalties?

I disagree. City yes, he would thrive there but he also likes to play more of a 10.

List of big chances created in the PL. Chelsea are not in the top 5.

Bruno whilst scoring bundles of goals also has created the most chances in the PL individually, which means if we have a ST who is clinical, he would get more assists anyway.

Bruno also makes alot of runs in behind past the striker, with Kane's passing they probably would compliment each other well.

Then there is also the pace on the wings, we have seen the relationship between Kane and Son, at United he could potentially the same with Rashford.

Bruno. He's the defacto captain/leader of this team. It's his squad Kane is coming in to. That competition is exactly what we need though.

My point, whether right or wrong, was that we miss a lot of big chances that Kane would likely be more capable of scoring, not that we create more than other clubs. At Utd you already have that goalscorer that we lack

Edit: Mind you, i've just seen Utd have missed almost the same amount as us so that renders my point mute

I think it'd be a condition of his transfer that Kane would be penalty taker, like all strikers he wants the golden boot and it'd be very difficult without penalties

Lets be honest here, Kane would work in almost any team. There is a clear shortage of out and out strikers, apart from Haaland, there are none available.

The likes of Cavani, Benzema, Lewandowski, Aguero are all ageing.

why? Here he may be one of the few missing pieces, and there they don’t miss anything

There is a 100% certainty that he won’t be a penalty taker. We already have one that doesn’t need a replacement. Besides, OGS wouldn’t accept if player’s personal ego contradicts with what is better for the team

Aaand they have the money which we dont

I'd throw the kitchen sink at him. He basically guarantees 25 goals a season in the EPL, and a few assists.
If Pogba goes, Grealish should come in.
Kane, Grealish and a DM and next summer we just need to add some competition at RB and another CB. Yes, it leaves RW out, but one of Greenwood and Diallo should make that position their own.

Sancho coming in would still leave a big question mark on our team, who scores them goals? That's a question that Kane will answer week in, week out.

In the event we do get Kane, we certainly won't bring in two other starters. Your living in a dream world. Best case scenario, the window will go either:

Kane + two bargain buys

or

Two starters + one bargain buy

Saying he's not desperate for trophies but just wants to be part of the biggest games gives me some hope...

Only way he comes to United is with a cash + swap deal with Martial being included, which could well happen tbf. City still seem by far the likeliest, if not ultimately staying at Spurs. The interview is big though, but why the feck would any athlete sign anything more than a 4 year contract these days?? Just very dumb if they ever have ideas to move clubs eventually. He has very little power here, and makes it very hard for anyone to afford him, especially after the last year and a half.

Didn't expect him to be so open about wanting to leave in the media. But that's probably the only chance he has to get out.

Pens would be a hard one. Hard to say for Portugal too. Is there anyone with a better penalty record in the world than Bruno? 21/22 for United I think. Not even Ronaldo can reasonably demand to be ahead of that. But yeah they are both goal obsessed so who knows.

I know, I was just hoping. No way we spend so much money on 2-3 starters.
But Kane + two bargain buys would do it for me. We're crying for a striker who guarantees goals since RVP's first season here.

I'm not sure it's worth the headache, I mean who would take the penalties?

Edit: this was tongue and cheek. Bruno seems the type of guy that would gladly give them up to have another world class player to play a side, he has given a couple of penalties away before to let others get on the score sheet and he seems more interested in winning trophies.

Clearing 300k wages by including Martial and Lingard in the deal and getting Kane for 60million plus those two players would be the dream scenario.

Then buy, Sancho, Rice and Varane as well obviously.

Buy ALL the players.

To be fair to Spurs fans, if Bruno went golfing with Neville and told him how he wants out, I would be absolutely fuming. Amateurish from Kane and he is foolish to think Levy will sell him for what he wants now.

I genuinely believe if UTD was his first choice and he was told he wouldn't take penalties then they would no longer be his first choice, I honestly believe they mean that much to him.

If we were paying £100m+ for a striker I'm sure we'd let him take goal kicks if it made a difference.

Kane's orchestrating the shit out of this, isn't he?

Casual interview at the golf court where he drops that he wants to win trophies, is unsure how the conversation with Levy will go and even having a laugh at the transfer fee.

Probably.

He still needs 95 goals to reach shearers record. 25 goals a season for the next four years will do it. Penalties would easily get him that record. No penalties and a few inevitable injuries might leave him slightly short of the record.

I think, to those asking why Kane would chose United over City, I have the following thoughts (rose-tinted glasses well and truly on).

It is one thing to be the next in the relatively long line of City players who have won titles, being part of a continued 'conveyor-belt of success' but the notoriety / legacy you could leave with United, if you were the spearhead for the return to the top table, would be something else entirely. RvP is held in very high regard by united fans despite (IMO) only one good season (which was a great season, I'm not trying to diminish it) partly because it returned United to winning ways.

If Kane was to come to United, combined with others (as unlikely as it would be for United to sign anyone else if we made that outlay for him this summer) and bring the PL back to United as well as (hopefully) returning to challenging for the CL, he would go down in folk-lore and have much greater, longer-lasting legacy within the club.

That, for me, would be a rather strong pull - much more risky, but also far more rewarding.

I never said we wouldn't, I replied to the person saying Bruno would be taking them over Kane because he has basically been here longer. My point being if Utd badly wanted him he would be the penalty taker.

Rather spend the money on CB, CM... Kane is City bound, makes too much sense when Aguero is leaving, his replacement.

Rose tinted but very valid.

I'm not sure players think of stuff like this. If they do, then we have an outside chance of pulling it off.

Yeah it proved a massive pull for RVP but hard to admit as it is City didn't have Pep as manager and we had only just lost the league by goal difference rather than around 12-14 points.

He’s city bound guys, I wouldn’t get my hopes up on this one. Hopefully we get Sancho over the line finally.

Sounds like the kind of argument that was made for Shearer rejecting Manchester United for Newcastle United in the 90's.
United are on a conveyor belt of success. Join Newcastle where the fans would be more appreciative of you . Bring us back to the glory days.etc
;)

Are we seriously debating whether he'd take the penalties or not as a factor as to whether he comes here or not?

Bruno would give them up, he already gave Rashford a pen when he was on a hat trick in the UCL because Rashford was currently the top scorer in the competition he'd do likewise if it was important for the CF/Golden Boot

I'd rather bruno take pens because till now he has a 99% success rate. Don't fix things that aren't broken.

So, let me get this straight, this Spurs fan is legit requesting to loan out their club talisman, Harry Kane, to the current champions of the league they are trying to win?

I just, I mean... Wut?

I'm just spitballing here, but how likely is it that this Alasdair Gold guy is a just bitter Arsenal fan on a massive Wum?
They are aren’t in shooting distance of Manchester city. They aren’t competing with them. They’re competing with the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh place teams.

Possible moves in order...

1, Man City.
2, Man United.

That's it.

Hes not going to move abroad and Spurs & Chelsea won't do business until Roman or Levy leaves.
It’s not likely at all, but PSG face the possibility of losing Mbappé very soon and I wouldn’t be surprised if they were to make a move on him, especially given the Poch connection.

While it’s obvious that Kane would rather stay at home and beat Shearer’s record, if this was the only offer that Levy would take?
