Harry Kane | Bayern Munich player

I don't play FPL anymore but I guess this transfer makes it even more boring in the striker department.

Munich is flipping brilliant, love it here. There are some things that grind my gears, but relates more to visa issues for my family since we aren't nationalized Germans yet.

The city is safe, clean, beautiful and on the doorstep of the Alpes and lakes. English isn't a major issue since there is a growing expat community here so more and more stores, restaurants and services speak a bit of English. I've been here 4 years and don't speak any German, my wife has basic German, and we get by fine (some issues here and there).
Wie ist das möglich? Bitte ekläre.

That was a really nice watch. I have no feelings either way about Kane or Bayern, but I liked seeing his obvious excitement. He never stopped smiling.

I thought he looked a bit uneasy when meeting the locals:

Of course I would have preferred to see him join United but I'm glad for him. He joined one of the biggest clubs in the world, one that matches his own level and on top of that he is likely making more money.

Thanks, maybe one day I will get enough likes to not be limited to 5 posts a day :(

Careful or we might grab Nischalke from you just because you like his name.

Nobrainer for Kane, bit wild for Bayern. A lot of money for an old albeit great striker. Relying on a Spurs player to push you through the late stages of the CL, bold move.

If he plays today and wins a trophy on his first day away from Tottenham, it will be hilarious.

Class. Notice how he thanks everyone from the kitman to the coach. Spurs held him down for years yet he stayed and gave them 100m when he left at 30 years of age.
Meanwhile a certain free agent was so bitter he only thanked Sir Alex and the fan, although the club pampered him for years and he cost the club several titles.
Ddg?

Gutted we didn’t get him and equally surprised there was no interest from anyone else in the PL.

Not really; it is probably the opposite:

Sheringham, Carrick, Walker, Modric, Bale etc. all won the Champion's League after moving to stronger clubs. They won nothing at Tottenham.

They actually have a 99% chance of winning the CL now.

He's not old, and he will easily surpass 30 goals this season.
An elite striker who has scored regularly in Europe and domestically.

What club did people expect Kane to move to next season on a free where Bayern isn’t by bar the best move he can make?
City are the only English club guaranteed to challenge for honours. None of the other English clubs look like they are near their level still. Bayern gave them two decent matches in CL with Choupo-Moting up front. Kane makes them genuine CL contenders and probably 2nd faves easily.
There wasn’t really any good options for Kane next season either. Madrid will get Mbappe, City don’t need him, United signed Hojland. Would he have went to Arsenal/Chelsea? Neither of those are as big of team as Bayern.

It’s a great move for Kane. Gets to play in a world class side challenging for all trophies, gets to stay in a great city/culture and a league with great fans/atmosphere.

I am curious to see if Tuchel/Munich will allow Kane the same freedom of expression and positioning that he has been accustomed to throughout his career.

I'm convinced most of those slagging it off and insulting Bayern and the Bundesliga are just United fans who are salty that he hasn't signed here.

Yeah fair, didn't mean old as in won't be able to perform anymore, rather old as in you can't quite expect four or five years of excellence. He's the best striker they could've bought, no doubt, but it's still hefty price all things considered

Not only that, but they are also the only team guaranteed to be in the top four. All the others have shown they drop out of the top four in any given season. Liverpool, Arsenal, Manutd, Chelsea, Newcastle and Tottenham (unlikely) will be fighting for three spots; some of them are going to miss out and it is difficult to predict for the first five. Would have been a risky move.

Guaranteed to play in the CL every season is a great reason to go.

Alan Shearer is remembered for his goal scoring achievements, not the one medal he won in his career.
Well maybe if Kane wins CL with Bayern scoring 40-50 goals he could win a Ballon D’or too. And he will be remembered as Ballon D’or winner. That would become even better than Shearer’s “since 92” record.

It doesnt take much to know Bayern isnt all that anymore and Bundesliga is crap.

Bayern have made some excellent signings and I'd have them as second or third favourite for the Champions League.

Bundesliga is the third best league in the world so "shit" is probably a bit of a ridiculous statement.

Still can’t believe he didn’t wait until next season.
And can’t believe Bayern paid that to buyout a one year contract.

Remember when he signed that stupid six year contract then wanted to leave Spurs but Levy wouldn't sell him?

Charlie Kane remembers

Who cares about a record that Haaland will probably break in a few years anyway? Footballers are above all else remembered for trophies.
Alan Shearer is remembered more for that record than for his championship with Blackburn. Kane will not be remembered for a couple of league titles in a one-team league. And there's every chance Haaland won't stay in the Premier League long enough to have a chance to break the record.

So what's the German for "we press, we aggressive, fecking chances, goals, and we fecking kill ’em man, we fecking qualify today lads, we fecking qualify"?

Pretty sure there's already a word in German for that

He'll have better longevity in the BuLi. His minutes can be managed and keep him fresh and firing for knockout games

That wasn’t the point I was responding too so your hypothetical scenario is irrelevant if not untrue.

By what measure is Bayern not all that anymore?
They went 6/6 in a group with Inter/Bayern and then lost to City in the quarters whilst having Choupo-Moting up front. The season before they got knocked out by Villarreal in one of the all time freaks.
It’s incredibly naive/ignorance to think that Bayern aren’t still a truly elite side. They’re better than any English side bar City.
