Harry Kane | Bayern Munich player

I love how people think that if Qatar buys us they'll splash 300, 400 million right away.
They could? It would be 170m odd alone if they cleared debt so with sales it would be 300m odd
The difference would be we wouldn’t be scared of a clear out imo.

How did you come to 170m?
And how do you know how much we'd make in sales. Clubs wouldnt buy just cause we changed owners.

120m budget. Apparently we get 50m on top of debt is cleared and 120m on sales.
You’re right, I don’t know how much we’d get in sales, could be more.
It was explained in here that selling Henderson alone could net us an extra 100m player based on ffp rules so it could be 300m on books but a lot more in reality

It would be fantastic if we'd make 120m on sales. Personally I dont see it.

Henderson alone would be 30m
Say Maguire is 30m
Fred 20m
Martial 15m
Elanga 10m
VDB 15/20m
Williams 10m

Even if that optimistic (not sure it is) then the volume of players sold alone from a bloated squad should see us hit that figure.
That’s not even counting players like Sancho who could be sold if Ten Hag is ruthless. Greenwood off to Italy or so where as well.

Personally I think you are undervaluing Fred and Maguire there, and probably overvaluing VDB, Elanga and Williams - but who knows? I'd just love to see them all gone - although tbh I'd probably rather keep Fred and offload McTom.

Where are the solid links to any of our players

Well that's why I included the caveat that I just want them gone. We may well have to let a lot of them go for next to nothing - especially where they are on wages that nobody will get anywhere near to matching (which is probably most of them tbh). I'd imagine Maguire and Henderson will certainly go. Fred will go - if ETH wants to sell him. Someone like Spurs will take a risk on Martial. The rest it all comes down to price. But yeah, I don't think clubs will be beating a path to our door for most of them but they might go later in the window when clubs start to get desperate.

FFP just adds another layer of bs for the twitter ITK to spew out every 30 seconds.

When has FFP ever been taken seriously? the worst that can happen is the club gets fined in 5 years time...stop giving it any relevance in the summer transfer window.

United wont sign Kane because they can't afford him...simple.

They could if were looking at cheaper CM,will be fuming if they have ended interest only to sign a backup GK too

It would take more than 100 million (probably 120) for a player in his 30's and available for nothing next season...it is just crazy to think that is good business.

Plus I think EtH would rather buy 3-4 players than give it all to Spurs for 1.

The only interest so far that seem 100% genuine is Mount, so any discussion for Kane should include the transfer of Mount into the conversation. Which just makes the move for Kane even more unlikely.

The only scenario I can see Kane joining United is if the takeover happens and the new owners want to slash out Boehly style.

Sounds like that won't be possible due to FFP restrictions and deal not being done in time to have any effect this window unfortunately

If we're not going to go for the PL trophy this season then it makes perfect sense to strengthen the second team with 3-4 solid squad players and tighten our grip on top four, and just lie in wait when fantastic opportunities present themselves, as was the case with Casemiro and Varane.

Fair point
 makes you realise how much £100 million would be though doesn't it? If we signed him this summer for that we'd basically be paying that for 1 season plus the knowledge that we also had him for another 3 seasons (say). But if someone suggested paying even £50 million for a season long-loan you would think it was crazy money, let alone 100. I've been all in favour of going all out for him this season, but maybe it does make sense to wait - providing we're pretty certain he would definitely come to us next summer.

To be fair, there would probably be a difference in wages if we signed him this summer, compared to the whooper wages we would have to pay next summer on a free.

Just curious as to why you say so.

Who will you have us go for in the CF role?

No names to drop, but I’m leaning more towards Rashford + young cf + Martial for next season.

So the CF signing won’t be a world class name for the transfer muppets to get excited about.

But this is a Kane thread…so go on Harry get a brace against Malta or whoever the feck England are playing this week!

PSG are apparently interested in Kane as osihiem and mauni are too expensive.

Have they ever heard of daniel levy?

Surprised there’s not more links to him going to Chelsea.

They need a striker, have Pochettino, and a trigger happy owner who might possibly meet Levy’s ludicrous demands.

Seems almost an obvious one.

Apart from the fact Spurs hate Chelsea more than pretty much anyone, meaning that, 1) Kane almost certainly wouldn't go there and 2) Levy's ludicrous demands would be even more ludicrous for Chelsea than they would be for us.

I still think we have a chance of singing him once (if) our ownership situation is resolved.

Seems none of the other clubs that need strikers are willing to enter into a prolonged negotiation with Levy either.

Well with only a year left on his contract that would be a perfectly normal assumption.
Some of these Spurs fans are behaving like spoilt kids over this given the loyalty - and incredible performance levels - Kane has given them through the years. I don't expect them to be happy about him (potentially) leaving, but all this 'tough shit you've got a contract' business seems a bit much. It's all very small-time.

Yeah, pretty embarrassing really. He's been far too good for them over the years. Selling him for £100m is the logical thing to do.

 Yeah keeping our best players is 'very small time' is it? I guess if we sold our best players that then would make us a bigger club or something by that logic?
