Aside from 100 mil being a ridiculous price for a 30 year old with 1 year on his contract, but worst of all, it hands 100 mil to one of our closest competitors in the league, which they'll then use to buy the player we should have bought, and two more.

This level of idiocy should not be entertained by the fans but from what I’m reading here, the fans have no problem with it. These are the contracts that have led to our current state because you can’t move them on when they underperform.
@Rojofiam Lewandowski is not slow or drops deep. Maybe at Bayern but for Barca he stretches the pitch, at the start of the season he was getting adjusted.

All this doesnt mean much. Kane is on the wrong side of 30 and paying 100m for him is just giving a major rival cash to go buy the player to replace kane plus 2 other top quality options. Kane will not close the gap to mancity....one player cant do that. We would rather spend that money on a cheaper option plus fix 2 other gaps in our squad. If we blow 100m on Kane, it will be proof that we have learnt nothing from the previous decade

Harry Kane has historically been statistically poor at scoring or assisting in big games for both club and country. That's a simple fact.

Playing for sides on the periphery of (being generous) or just plain outside of the elite, in England and Tottenham. The best playmaker he's played with is Eriksen, who's good, sometimes really good, but not De Bruyne levels. I'd argue Bruno is a better no.10 (although Eriksen has other strengths in terms of controlling possession or playing 'pass before the assist', even if, again, he's no Modric). As a comparison between (I'd argue similarly elite) strikers, look at Lewandowski's record in tournaments for Poland, then look at how he did for a top-table Bayern side in Europe with numerous potential creators and a higher system level.
They would be stupid not to sell him this summer. Going to end up mid table next season either way
The counter argument is that they remained in the periphery because he doesn't show up with goals when they need him to. There's only so much your supporting cast can do when the primary goal scorer doesn't turn up for the big games.
The whys of those stats are indeed subjective in individual seasons or teams or competitions, but when it's consistent across the board across the years, I'd go with the simplest explanation.
Still think he'd be a massive upgrade on what we do have, just making the point that he's not worth, by himself, the compromise of the team missing out on less flashy but more functional upgrades across other positions.

I want to preface this by saying I am a huge fan of Casemiro, but in the end people were sort of proven right. He had a fantastic first half of the season, but his form has fallen off a cliff in the second half.

For me price is irrelevant his profile is all wrong even if he is available for sensible fee of 60-70m I would still prefer United to find somebody else who is more suitable for us .
