We don't know whether he will make it or not.
But after the weekend he defo should come on before mctominay
That sub made absolutely no sense

Hannibal not coming on for Eriksen at HT was criminal.

If he’s not going to play him, why’s he here.

Thats why the idea that ETH plays youth is a misnomer.

I think he is as bad as Jose when it comes to taking a gamble on academy kids. He only did that at Ajax because it's a selling club.

I really want to see Hannibal plays as “connector”. It just seems that it won’t happen.

I don't particularly rate him but how is he supposed to force himself into the team if that sub appearance on the weekend couldn't do it? At least give him a fair shake.

Once players like Mainoo and Mount start coming back he'll have even less chance of getting in the team. I'd be a bit frustrated if I was Hannibal.

Actually that was one of the few things that Ajax fans seemed to criticise him for when ETH joined us. Not trusting young players enough. From memory that along with him showing too much interest in players that he'd managed previously were the two criticisms I heard.

My main takeaways I remembered wete he was slow at reacting to in-game tactical change and very late at making subs.

Casemiro, Amrabat and Hannibal- that would be a gritty but technically gifted midfield trio. Worth a shot as we seem to be carrying players at the moment.

He’s not a child anymore, we need to stop treating him as such. He’s had a full season in the Championship and has been a full international for almost 2 years, playing in senior international tournaments. If those ahead of him are shit, let him play ffs.

Preach.

How does a player who scored a wonder goal on Saturday not get on the pitch in a game where our other midfielders were all terrible?

I am full support of playing youth in our geriatric midfield right now.

ETH handling of Hannibal is quite weird. Sending Scott ahead of him was criminal.

Starting Eriksen next to Casemiro was also a terrible decision. But then putting on Scott ahead of Mejbri just makes no sense to me at all.

I wouldn't blame him if he told his agent to find him a new club immediately after the match.

I read this thread quite often and some posters don’t rate Hannibal. I don’t know why. I think he is bloody brilliant. If he played a whole season he’d probably get more bookings than goal involvements but who cares? He plays the game like he gives a shit about winning and losing.

He’s erratic but very talented. If he’s given more chances he will impact games. I have a hunch he is being very slowly eased into the team - it will depend on him producing the goods but I believe he is rated by those that matter.

Hope he gets a few more minutes tomorrow.

I dont think he is brilliant. I think he is a pretty limited midfielder. But at least he gives us some legs and energy in midfield, which is what we need right now. I would start him alongside Casemiro V Burnley.

I think erratic is a better descriptor than limited personally. Guys got talent. He's technically strong, hard working and physically decent for his age. It's just that his game swings pretty wildly still.

I think if he's given a season in the rotation he'll prove himself as a valuable asset, but he needs to play in the middle rather than put wide where he's only 'Okay'.

He's far from being a brilliant player but he's got a 'brilliant' foundation for a player his age.

Technically very sound, combative, good first touch, good dribbling and stride, physically robust and has good stamina. I'm not sure he has the midfield footballing brain yet at this level but sitting on the bench is not going to help.

He needs minutes and guidance from ETH.

I think this lad can Fred's replacement in our squad. A midfield terrier with an engine, aggression, passion who can move the ball up the pitch, but also not so good in possession sadly.

I do think that until Mainoo gets back and Amrabat picks up his form, he needs to start alongside Casemiro in a double pivot so he can provide the much needed legs that we require in the midfield.

This is the sort of thing I’m talking about. He is not limited at all. Yes, he has legs and work rate but he is also a very good dribbler (with great close control), is strong in possession under pressure, has great vision (even if his execution of passes needs improvement) and is a goal threat.

He’s not experienced and not fully developed but he is the opposite of limited- he’s the full package.

I’ve said it before, but he reminds me of Luka Modric. But I think it is worth remembering that Luka Modric was playing his first season at Dinamo Zagreb as a regular at his age. He would not move to Spurs for another three years. And when he arrived at Spurs he played out wide the first season.

It is really hard to predict his potential, but I trust that the staff know whether he is ready or not. Really glad that he appears to be pushing for a spot. Not too worried that it is not in the position where he is likely to end up. Just hope we extend his contract soon.

I think EtH is now thinking less about taking risks and become more worried about losing games, than winning them. I think when you get into that place, youth players fall down the pecking order...

I think he will start today. And if he doesn’t, I think he should anyway.

Delighted to see him start and REALLY hope he seizes his opportunity as the midfield ‘competition’ will get tougher in coming weeks and he won’t get another chance. Shame he isn’t brought into a stronger side, but you get what you get, and he must take it.

Yeah, fantastic.

Yellow card and subbed at half time. Is what could happen! But I’m backing him to have a great impact. If memory serves, he played well in our friendly against Burnley a few weeks back.

Excited to see him start.. might put a tenner on him to be sent off also

Haha after seeing the starting eleven I thought to myself...an Evans injury and a Hannibal RED wouldn't be that surprising considering United's luck lately.

Please play him as connector! He needs get the ball as much as possible to involve himself.

Erik Ten Hag pre match comments "I said Mejbri, he's gonna be the one that saves me. And afterall, he's my Hannibal"

Nice to see him start.

Good job he didn't hand in his transfer request after not playing vs Bayern, as a few people suggested he should do.

Please stay disciplined tonight. Don’t be running around like an headless chicken and putting in daft tackles.

Hoping for a performance. If he ever wants to try win a place in the side theres no better time than now.

I have really enjoyed him in the academy and reserves, so really looking forward to see how he does in first team debut. Hopefully people will be patient with him because he has lots of potential
