Griezmann vs Lukaku: If we could get one, who would you splash the cash on?

Who would you rather?

If we sign Griezmann he's likely to play 40/50 games. Who do you drop?

Isn't there lot of overlaps with Rashford, Lingard & Martial plus Mkhi?
Reported that Mourinho sees Rashford as reserve role for striker next season (Griezmann would be more of a #10 option). Mourinho doesn't strike me as a big fan of Martial (plus Griezmann is more of a #10). Lingard's going to be a squad player long term and Mkhitaryan's future is a bit uncertain. He's done well in the Europa League but struggling for form at the moment in the league so can see all of Griezmann, Mkhitaryan and Rashford getting quite a few minutes with Griezmann playing most often.

Griezmann is the superior player, but my only concern is that he might find the physical PL difficult to deal with. I also thought that Miki was superior to Mané but so far it has been the opposite.

Griezmann will take the PL by storm. He'll bring others into the game and score plenty as well. He has the ability to travel deep and orchestrate quick attacks with his mobility, awareness and vision, and he's capable of finishing the same attacks he initiates.
I think it's possible Lukaku would only encourage us to continue with the long hail mary forward passes we're already prone to indulge in, and I probably like to see us playing differently.
We need players that can help us move forward from midfield seamlessly, and players that can find space in crowded areas in the teeth of goal and retain their balance and composure at the moment of impact.
I think Griezmann would be an upgrade on Mata, whereas Lukaku would be a Zlatan replacement. But I really want someone sharper at number nine, like Belotti or Rashford.

Greizmann - not even the slightest hint of a doubt in my mind.

People who claim that Griezmann doesn't fit into this team do realize that he can play more positions than Lukaku, right?

Even if Griezman doesn't fit in the team, you make room for a player like that. Lukaku is amazing as well and honestly has the potential to make this thread seem hilarious in a few years but as of now, Griezman is ahead of him.

Why does OP hate Lukaku? It's not even a fair comparison. Griezmann all day long.

Yeah but I see Jose going for a cheaper option than Lukaku. I don't see Griezmann and Lukaku as either or anyway, they both play primarily different roles.

Yeah but I still think there's a big question mark over who we drop for Griezmann given he'd play the vast majority of our games. We're not short on No.10's or inside forward types.

The same doesn't go for Lukaku because we need a No.9.

It would be Griezmann but personally I think we should sign both.

Griezmann is world class, Lukaku i'snt (yet, I actually think he will be).

If it was Lukaku for £30m or Griezmann for £100m that would be the only point where I would consider this

Come on lads, the myth about a striker being PL ready was put to bed with Ibra this season, if Costa, Aguero, Sanchez etc didn't already put it to bed before. You don't need to buy from the PL for a player to succeed. Griezmann all day long for me. With all due respect, we should be aiming higher than Lukakku.

Surely this isn't as obvious as some people are making out, is it?

Yes, Griezmann does it in the CL and La Liga, but Lukaku is also scoring consistently in the Premier League, with a team outside the top four.

To me, Lukaku can score just as much, and be just as influential in a better club - no disrepect to Everton

Gonna copy and paste my post from the other thread, feel like it may fit in here as well.

There's something about Lukakku to me that screams "will be found out at the highest level". To be honest that's also the way I feel about Kane. They're both good premier league strikers, but I feel like when you're in a CL semifinal against Bayern and you need someone to produce that moment of absolute top class individual genius to win the game, I feel like these two players wouldn't be able to deliver that moment.

I may very well be wrong, but I can't shake that feeling and that's why I would rather we steer clear of Lukakku (And the Ryan Gosling of North London)

It baffles me that anyone could choose Lukaku like. He doesn't have the guile, the touch nor the technical ability to thrive in a team that doesn't have the whole pitch ahead of them.

He's scored a lot of goals this season in a system and environment that suits him. He wouldn't get that here. It would end the same way as Bentekes stint at Liverpool.

3rd place Ballon d'or 2016 who is more versatile vs Everton striker

I think we know the answer.

Lukaku every fecking time. Even if it's 100m for Lukaku and 50m for Griezmann. Only striker in the world that ticks all the boxes and is only 23. He scores for fun at Everton imagine him getting at the end of all those chances we create. He creates goals effortlessly for himself too.
Lukaku, I beg you. Take my hand and rejoice.

Griezmann is the superior player, but my only concern is that he might find the physical PL difficult to deal with. I also thought that Miki was superior to Mané but so far it has been the opposite.
Mkhi is the better player and will show it next season, with a better group of players around him, and, a better understanding of the system and league.

Anyone who hasn't seen or dosen't know much about Lukaku should see this.
Hold up play
Pace
Passing
Dribbling
Power

He is essentially another Zlatan 2.0 except that this one can actually finish.

Make no mistakes, I am Greizmann all the way, but we can't create some falsehood that he is just a "target man".
