Didn’t some Italian journalist just get fired for calling Lukaku the n word live on tv? Greenwood won’t even make the news.

Yeah think he might have gotten fired. I just mean that the supporters group of a pl club (inter supporters) or a captain of pl football club (Bonucci) could ever justify racism and get away with it.

A loan… so he remains our issue. Kick that can down the road.

I’ve seen this opinion a lot, but I think if the club tried that having said he will leave the shitstorm they would kick up will be biblical, far worse than just keeping him here in the first place.

It would need a change in ownership. No way could it happen currently. And new owners may care more for good publicity. Ideally he goes away, gets his form back, becomes a better person and continues his career elsewhere.

He took the piss out of teammates.
He didn’t take lockdown seriously.

Which of those is a “clear red flag” that people “let slide” due to his talent
Should a parent or someone from United stop players bantering each other, should a chaperone have followed him around and pulled back down his hood every time he was in a grump? Should the Prime Minister and his cabinet have taught him how to act properly during lockdown?
There's a difference between bantering each other and bullying which is what the article refers to.

Maybe you are used to teenager cnuts, there were many in school, some of them learn to be decent people at college, others are cnuts forever.

Which you think people would be up in arms about...
People will get up in arms about anything to do with this. Rival fans very quiet on these rumours though, almost as if it was a stick to beat United with rather than a case of moral fortitude.

What did you expect? For the club to give him away? He's still a huge financial asset whom has been developed by the club for over a decade. A loan and he shows what level of player he is and his market value will be somewhat commensurate with his footballing abilities, so it is not a complete loss.

We've all seen how this club is scraping the barrel in the transfer market here just trying to get in adequate squad players.

See below
Di Marzio saying he's available on free for a permanent transfer.

Even on a free, the clubs in for him have no chance of covering his current wages.

I just did. Questioned whether this isn't a case of lost in translation. And loads of clubs can cover his meagre wages. It's not like he's earning what Donny (or Fred was) earning. Footballing wise, he's underpaid.

If this is a free transfer this has been a fecking disaster on behalf of the club in every single aspect.

He will joing PSG in a year time for 90m euros.

It is a certainty that he will move for a big fee in a couple seasons. By next summer his incident would be irrelevant for anyone outside England.

We all know it was. I didn't want to see Greenwood back in a Utd shirt, but you didn't have to scratch too far below the surface to see the tribalism in a lot of people's reactions.

Absolutely nothing good has come from this sorry mess now, no lessons learned, nothing.

Yep. Also, lets not forget he was an incredible talent that we had on our books - definitely a factor in their clamour to exile him.

Letting an elite £80m talent go for free because they're scared the media will say mean things about them if they don't. This club is run by the most useless, spineless cretins imaginable.

If he scores 25goals the same ones will be clamouring for his return. This is the Caf afterall

The club stands for nothing but its commercial product and the same old platitudes about doing things differently, being a family club etc.

Total nonsense.

Who exactly is going to bid £80 million for him in the current climate?

Anyone genuinely surprised or shocked or annoyed we’re not looking for a fee is to be kind not very bright. As frustrating as it might be to see what was once a world class potential talent go for nothing, this really was to be expected after what’s transpired over the last few weeks.

could not give a toss to be honest, quicker is is away from the club the better.

Yep, think he’ll be back at a top tier European club within a year or two. There will be no outrage when Lazio receive a big fee.

We're getting an extra 10 points for moral reasons end of the season mate, just hang in there

Feck sake for free. He will go have a good season or 2 and will be at Juventus or some other club for 80m or more.

If we give him away for nothing it would be the single most incompetent decision made in the clubs history under the glazers.

That would be saying something too.

fecking mental. We are run by a bunch of idiots.

The free transfer thing has to be bollocks, that would be sheer stupidity from the club. It’s not the clubs fault he did what he did so why should we suffer? Get whatever we can for him and reinvest it in the squad.

Hope it happens. Club's petrified of even asking for a fee after u-turning on the decision of the manager and board

United stands for and on nothing period. Especially having read the statement or more accurately put the exposé concluding the entire ordeal.

So what price would you think or expect us to get for him? It’s just not realistic to think we’d look to get a fee for him in the current climate.
