I've seen a few people reference his use of nos/laughing gas as if that's an indicator of bad character/at all relevant to the issue at hand. Weird.

I think it is petulant and immature, I do not think it is sinister. I think the breech of lockdown rules whilst at England was seen as more of a lack of discipline. But as I said before he was 19 at the time.

What was Johnson's/ Cummings' and other minister's excuse?

I think the incident that has got us to where we are now is something that can't just be left. He and now his young family need assistance to move on, so he can try to play at the highest level he possibly can.

Absolutely nothing in terms of transfer news on this fella'.

Hopefully it will pick up tomorrow ! Even Twitter has no bullshit rumours about him. Last that popped up was shitty sources linking him to "an unnamed club in Albania".

Albania would be fitting considering he was called Voldemort on here for so long and Albania was where Voldemort was based in between resurrections

Ideal for him !

Looks like nobody wants Voldemort back for the moment anyway !

A post from nearly headless nick, funnily enough :

I wonder if there are any clubs interested, or if it's more a case of clubs of a certain reputation/revenue not being interested. I mean if he said he were open to a move to the Vanarama National League surely a couple clubs would be on the phone to his agent?

What kind of wages would a non-league club be able to offer him?

Maybe play for a local pub team.

Despite everything I'm surprised no club has been in for him yet, maybe a deadline day move might happen.

He hasn't been released, has he? Which means any interested party will have to negotiate with our selling arm to make a deal happen. Fat chance of anything productive happening for any party.

Even from purely a sporting pov whomever takes him on is essentially commiting to 3-6 months training before he'll even play for them, all the while the pr will need to be managed and his wages will need to be paid

I think moving him on is the correct decision but I also agree with those saying he should've been brought back to training as soon as the charges were dropped simply to get him up to speed - it could've been done away from the first team and would at least allow us and potential suitors to properly assess him. At this point I think booking him a trip to Sanchos Big Dutch Fat Camp might be a good option

Easy there Judge dredd...I often cross on a red when I'm walking home in the middle of the night and there's not a car for miles, does that mean I'll never be a good boy?
A bit different no?
A judge hasn’t told you to stay away from traffic lights as the traffic lights have an ongoing legal case against you

I read if no club comes in for him we will have to terminate his contract which begs the question why not wait for that and get him as a free agent?

Not sure why there’s TWO Greenwood threads saying the same repeat and rinse stuff but I’ll post it here as well!!

(I’ve got a sneaky feeling that he’s staying, he hasn’t been linked with any club being interested in taking him. So after Friday he’ll still be a United player and therefore be reintroduced slowly to the team.)

The club statement appeared to confirm that we are done with him though.

So far there's nothing like that imo. We only said that he'd have to continue his career elsewhere and we'll 'help' him to 'find' a club.

I'm no expert but if we want to terminate his contract we'll have to pay him his two years wages. Of course unless he'd agree to waive that money but I'd seriously doubt that. It's millions.

For the club let him staying here doing feck all is actually still a better option than paying him his full wages for two years and let him leave now. In two years lot of things can happen. We might sell him for a fee, loan him out or despite very unlikely even let him back into the first team when the noises cool down. What a mess really.

You might have missed a public statement from Utd and Greenwood that probably has been seen by 100 million people so ya that’s not happening.

Likely there are clubs for him but they haven't been leaked to the press for obvious reasons.

I think a deal will only be known to us once it's done.

Nothing missed here! Just a point of view, which will probably not happen!

The Sun, Express and Mail as of two hours ago reporting Besiktas are offering a six-month loan deal.

Shite sources, but more than has been said in days.

Did you break bail in a DV case? No? Then shut the feck up

Again another unplanned decision. They don’t even have a clue how to exist him.

He broke his bail conditions whilst the case was still active. The police could and should have picked him up
Aye its not exactly the same, but the only thing hurt here is the prosecution's case. We haven't heard any reports or even rumours of coercion or intimidation, if anything its been the opposite as they've been quietly starting a family. That poster was listing it amongst of other things that made him not a good boy, and I thought the laughing gas stuff was probably worse in terms of morals.

Disagree. But I can’t be bothered at this time so I’ll leave it there

The problem is we don't really have any legal grounds to terminate his contract having came out saying we think he's innocent. If he leaves then we'll end up paying the difference between what's he's on here for the next two years and what he'd earn elsewhere.

I struggle to believe that we'd allow a situation to develop where he's still here on Saturday morning but it's Manchester United so anything is possible.

I think mutual agreed termination was evoked. I always understood it as Greenwood being paid a lump sum for the remainder of his contract and being freed.

I don't think this is the case, my understanding is that he remains, legally at least, a 100% contracted Manchester United player, but one we've said we're not going to play again. The whole thing is a mess, we seem to have done a late pivot from planing to bring him back into the squad and now have absolutely no idea what to do next.

It seems, my friend, that you don't have much experience with domestic violence. It is insidious. Everything becomes a weapon, especially good behavior. Unless you deal with the underlying issues the violence will continue. Having a baby is not dealing with the underlying issues

Apologies as I have tried to find the answer in here but there are so many posts!

Are we likely to get any type of fee for Greenwood?

So are we getting money for him or no?

I tried phoning my good pal Steve McClaren there (he deals with all United transfers at the moment) and he said "maybe, I'm trying to sleep" and fell asleep on the phone so we will see.

The top comment here though
