Gaming Grand Theft Auto V | 2022: GTA+ (monthly GTA Online subscription) announced exclusively for PS5/Xbox Series

It seems like these days big titles can only be released in October/November or May. Rockstar might break this pattern with this one though because it's obviously big enough to sell at any given date.

That Cheeta

I can't really see it coming out so soon because there's been so little said about it. Or I assume there has. I'm just going off this thread.

Personally I think they are more wary of delays this time round, they want to get all the work done, then wham bam thank you mam trailers, hype, release in a relatively short space of time, pure speculation though.

I don't think they wanted a repeat of (public) delays they had with IV.

They really don't need much marketing work to build hype for this game. People will storm game stores and crash servers to get a copy of this regardless of when they release their next trailer :p

Well I'll be majorly happy if it does come out soon. I'll be in line at midnight like a right gimp

Oooooh Mama!

Can't wait. Love exploring the worlds they create.

Are they making a sports game with guns? Virtua Tennis the Massacre?

... can't wait! We need a release date, we really do.

So glad parachutes are back. I used to love flying a plane as high as possible in San Andreas and then bailing out of it.

We should make a Redcafe 'crew' for this game. It's a new feature from Rockstar Games for their online multi-player games.

Competing in the GTA races on online multiplayer with friends on IV was one of the most fun online gaming experiences I've ever had. Loads of circuits to choose from and you can have settings like everyone is driving a faggio, bags of fun.

I'd be up for that, never really played GTA online before.

If they sort the online out proper this time it'll be great fun. I remember playing Cops Vs Robbers online which was quality. There weren't many people playing but it was awesome when there were about 4 on 4 and you were the boss. It meant that your location was shown on their map and the rest of you team had to defend you while you tried to get to the boat/helicopter to get away. I pulled off some awesome tricks to evade the Cops team.

One time after my last faithful goon had died protecting me. I sprinted down alleyways to escape some guy chasing me, we were jumping over walls and dodging traffic until I hopped on the back of a bike. He got in a car and after a short chase I slipped suddenly down an alley. He tried to follow but his car was too big and got stuck  I made it to the boat and sped off like a badass.

Argh. The nostalgia is overwhelming.

Another thing I love doing was taking a motorbike to the top of a tall building/mountain, flying off it, and then parachuting down.

Also used to love going to the top of Mount Chilliad in the most ridiculous vehicle I could find and ride off the top off it.

I don't know, online (and the game itself) could be slightly wobbly at times especially in menu's, but private lobbies with friends seemed to work great be it races, co-op or TDM.

I was telling myself I would skip GTA 5 having bought GTA 4 but that is looking good. Very different visually too GTA 4.

What! That's like not supporting Manchester United because they finished runners up in the CL & PL the season before! :D

:D
Except supporting United is free.

True, I forget that money is involved with GTA because I'm guaranteed to buy it no matter what!

The European-based online retailer Zavvi.com has posted what appears to be a release date for Grand Theft Auto 5. When questioned, the retailer confirmed that the release date of November 23, 2012 was provided to them by their supplier.

"I can confirm that this is the release date forwarded by our supplier," said a spokesperson for Zavvi to Eurogamer PT. "If the release date changes, our website will be updated immediately."

Although the release date of Grand Theft Auto 5 has yet to be formally announced, game analysts like Michael Pachter have expressed their belief that the game may well be released this year.

Furthermore, previously revealed resumes of staff at Rockstar Games working on the game gave good indication that the game would be out around October. Given the nature of game development, there's a good chance that their internal release date of October have slipped by a month.

The game's release in November doesn't seem too far fetched given the company's recent ramping up of their marketing machine, which began with the release of three screenshots yesterday. Rockstar says that they plan to release more screenshots later this week.

There's a good chance that we'll hear a formal release date statement from Rockstar Games fairly soon.

Was posted in the newbies.

Would be great if it was this year. Could be Zavvi trying to get people to look at their site though no?

A retail source has dismissed claims that Grand Theft Auto V will release on November 23.

Speaking to VideoGamer.com on the grounds of anonymity, our retail source told us that he would "bet my wife, my house and your life on [GTA V] not coming out this year".

Earlier today, online retailer Zavvi told Eurogamer Portugal that the November 23 release date advertised on its website was "the release date forwarded by [its] supplier".

"If the release date change, our website will be updated immediately," it added.

Rockstar has yet to officially announce a release date for GTA V.

The publisher does appear to be ramping up publicity for the title, however. It has already released two asset drops this week, detailing the game's transport and leisure systems.

Could a release date be next?

Don't be stupid lads of course it's not coming out in november. We're nearly in to September, and there will be a silly amount of marketing going in to the game months before its out. May 2013 is my guess

Rockstar like there pre holiday releases and every game bar IV (because it got delayed) has released October/September. How ever it certainly won't be this year. We're in august, have one trailer, few screenshots and no other information.

Then again it's GTA... Rockstar could probably just release it to stores without telling anyone and it will still sell like hotcakes.

We'll more likely to see it November 23rd 2013.

You mean like
GTA IV - Released April 29 2008
BoGT and L and D for PS3 - released April 16 2010
Red Dead Redemption - released May 21nd 2010
LA Noire - Released May 20th 2011
Max Payne 3 - Released May 18 2012

Certainly looks like they love their holiday release dates for their games...

I reckon it'll be released in the UK on March 15th 2013.

I'm going with February 22nd 2013

or optimistically November 23rd 2012

I think this could be potentially the best console game ever.

Are those screenshots are real time? or are they all arted up to make the graphics look better than they are?.

The sheer size and fun factor of this game is going to take it to the next level, just like gta 3 did back in the day.

As long as they bring the fun back.

GTA IV was my least favourite of the modern GTAs purely because they made it so pointlessly 'gritty' and sapped all the fun out of it. I want to be able to stand on the wing of an aeroplane as my mate flies it, or parachute out of a plane onto a pedestrian. Shit like that made it fun.

:lol::lol::lol: Not THAT confident then

Three new screenshots today. Can't link them as imgur is blocked at work for me.
