Golf 2023

What happens to the spectators who've got tickets for today? Are they invited back tomorrow/Monday when I presume it'll over run to? Or is it like the F1 where it's basically tough s**t

It's tough shit they can't fit them in with those who also have tickets for tomorrow.

Weather is pretty good tomorrow so I will be shocked if this doesn’t finish tomorrow

The delay is massive for Koepka. He had gone way right with the driver twice, and pretty much would have to hit it on every par 4. Tomorrow he’ll be able to hit 3 wood if he’s not feeling it and Koepka is about as consistent a 3 wood player as you can get.

It really pisses me off that Koepka is gonna play this entire tournament without having to play a complete round in the poor weather.

Why? Literally half the field got the same draw as Koepka? It’s not like he got to go out there on his own in favourable conditions? 50ish guys got his draw. None of them got to -12.

Rory got a quite similar draw and missed the cut 17 shots back.

Most Open Championships have a draw that favours some players. It’s weather in an outdoor sport. It happens.

Of course, it's the rub of the green. Can be helpful or hurtful. I even made a comment on Friday that Brooks was going to benefit greatly due to late / early.

I'm rooting against Brooks simply because he plays on LIV. Granted, he already had his exemption to the Masters & will have it for the next 5 years or so before he will have to accrue WOGR points to qualify (if he doesn't win another major). I just don't want a LIV player who plays on a hit & giggle tour to be able to waltz into the majors with a reserved spot.

Going to be more interesting today seeing the players hitting longer irons into the greens.

Some players were saying each non- par 3 hole was playing 75 yards longer than the listed yardage during the worst of it.

Imagine morikawa could be 25 yards further off the tee. He might never lose another tournament:lol:

brooks got a tiny bit of my respect back when he said if he was at the top of his game, he may have not joined Liv. He’s shown up playing in his own Nike gear unlike some of the other Liv captains, too.

We could see a two stroke swing by Koepka & Rahm immediately out of the gate on the 7th. green. Koepka for pat is 12 feet out; Rahm has an even shorter birdie putt.

Jealous of the patrons today who are able to see basically an extra nine today!

and that’s exactly what happens. Amazing start for the day.

Yeah I noticed that too with the gear thing.

What I'll say about the thing about being at the top of his game its up to him to get it back and he has shown he can, to cop out and say that's the reason was cowardly imo

That up and down on 9 is so good from Rahm. Making putts outside of 10 feet, Koepka missed his only long one so far this round.

That's a great recovery and putt from Koepka, Rahm will be kicking himself he didn't gain atleast 1 shot there.
