Golf 2023

It’s gonna go from 80 & sunny to 58, windy, & an inch of rain in three hours time in Augusta.

They do it in some other tournaments, but it's feckin wild one of the top guys doing it in a major is proper mental.

He offered to do it though, that's great. He's probably a good player for it as he's fairly comfortable with media, comms and talking.

I'd like it more in the "smaller" tournaments they play and the Ryder cup.
Think round three 10th hole @ Genesis with Colin Morikiwa was really insightful. Back in February I think was the first time I seen a player in conversation like that.

Shows how difficult the pins were that everyone else out there has had the nice weather but koepka was head and shoulders above everyone so far.

Aye, Koepka is playing unreal. He's deffo upped his game here Vs his LIV golf game... He's always been a major player tbf.

This fecking Bennett guy is playing amazing. He could be in one of the last three or four groups tomorrow. Not unheard of for an amateur, but extremely rare.

e - cat could find himself in the last group of the day tomorrow. Alone in second right now.

How would you be playing #3 today? I think I would want gap wedge for my second shot rather than a 50 yard chip.
I’d do the exact same thing, hit it off the tee to one of my wedge distances. I always had a challenge when I was trying to punch a 60 degree or had to pitch it from 40ish yards.

Both times I played it I did exactly that. Don’t remember hitting a good wedge either time.

Max Homa might hold at the same time the fifth best golfer in the world spot as well as the fifth best Tweeter in the world spot.

Damn, these guys going to be lucky to make par through the back 9 here. Always the bummer with golf how tee times can decide who wins. Hopefully some of the guys can hold on to what they've got

You know that tree will be removed in about 10 minutes. Quicker than the F1 marshalls mending a concrete wall back into place.
Probably replace it with a similar height tree as well. They grow & maintain a few acres of grass for greens & fairways on property so they can make quick fixes if something gets washed away, gets burnt, etc. Wouldn’t be surprised if they had partially mature pine trees to relocate.

Three trees were uprooted.

Done for the day. Long day of golf for some tomorrow.

The high tomorrow is slated to be 51 & will rain all day.

How did you manage to play? Good connections?

Was there Tuesday and Thursday, place is genuinely unbelievable. My expectations were very high and easily surpassed them. It’s golf perfection and the elevation changes are so vast that tv really doesn’t do it justice. I walked entire course 3/4 times Tuesday and then spent majority of Thursday sitting next to the water at 16. Was a great spot with how generous the pin was. Will definitely go back, hopefully get lucky in the ballot eventually.

Worked the 97 Masters & was able to play on the Monday following in an absolute stroke of luck. Second time was due to my doing a huge wine tasting for a bunch of muckity mucks in Aiken & they told me to bring my clubs. We played Aiken CC the day of the tasting & they kept being evasive about where we were playing the following day. They took a back road into Augusta to try to surprise me, but I cottoned onto them kinda early. It was amazing to drive down Magnolia Lane the second time though.
