Golf 2017

My point still stands!
your point was made at him missing the shot to win the masters. He's just won it, so it doesn't really stand mate.

Of all the majors to win too this must be the one you'd choose with all the tradition behind it.

He didn't bottle the first putt, he just misread it, it happens. It's a deceptive putt.

Delighted for him.

Great sportsmanship from Rose there in his post-round interview with Dottie Pepper. Good lad.

Yeah Rose is a good guy, wouldn't have begrudged him the win and had it been anyone but Garcia I'd have wanted him to. I'm sure it's not the last we will see of Rose anyway.

Probably the best feeling in golf, I think everyone dreams of being master of Augusta

I swear Europeans in that room always look way less cut out for all this made for tv production than the Americans do

Doesn't help that Butler Cabin looks straight outta the 80s. Time for a re-model.

It really does, like an old 90's sitcom that was fine when SD cameras covered the imperfections but looks weird and fake in our new HD broadcasts.

I'm not too sure, there's some kind of old timey charm about it.

Yeah it is like watching a presentation in a time machine. Like the pros look modern but the chairman looks like he's still stuck in the 70's.

I do appreciate the absolute weirdness of whisking the winner of arguably the biggest golf tournament to have a presentation in a weird little house. It's great in its own little way.

That was one of the best Sundays golf I can remember watching. 2 thoroughly nice blokes, neither of whom you'd like to see lose, playing golf of the very highest standard at the worlds greatest golf course in the sunshine. Fecking brilliant.

And to top it all off, the fella everyone has a soft spot for, finally wins his first major, the biggest one of all, on Seve's 60th birthday. Magic!

Was brilliant for Sergio, I wanted him to win even though it was up against Rose. Top man.

It was slightly surreal watching the post show, the interviews and such. It wasn't the usual underdog story, well it was, but it kind of felt like the prodigal son returning home a man. Our boy done good, he's back, matured and has a lovely missus(man they adore his missus). He's still only young ready to take over the family business now...... and of all days he comes back on his grandads birthday!

It was heart warming, but strange.

Watched the rerun of the final day last night. Having read up about Sergio's history of meltdown in Majors, I thought the way Sergio eventually won the US Masters was really fitting. He could have won it on the 18th hole at the first ask, missed his birdie putt and had to go to the playoffs. But instead of sinking into despair like in his previous attempts, he came back strongly. Solid drive down the 18th hole, similar hit to put the ball in the same area where he missed his earlier birdie putt in regular time. And this time, he makes the birdie erase all demons and win his first majors.
Job well done, Sergio.

I'm already looking forward to the next major, played at this stunning looking golf course:

Can't wait to see players attempt shots from the heaviest roughs here.

I love courses with proper rough like that, none of this second cut bollocks actually make them work for it. Gonna be good.

Tiger's been arrested for drunk driving apparently. Idiot if guilty.

Also quite sad, he obviously hasn't been able to cope with both the injuries and the fall out from his affair.

Is it safe to say he'd go down as the greatest if it wasn't for the downward spiral following his affair? Or were injuries already fecking him up beforehand.

No surprise here these types of incidents are par of the course for Tiger, hopefully someone can chip in with needed advice and he can bunker down for the rest of the year.

I'm Sorry

fecking hell he looks like a generic 'create-a-player' from his own games.

Not a golf fan. But sad to see what has happened to a sporting icon. He needs to get the book thrown at him for the DUI though.
