Music Glastonbury 2023

Personally think it sounds terrible, but have to admit it would be pretty special to be there.

People have strange expectations I guess.

His voice is beginning to struggle after a good start

I’m sure Martin Tyler is on one of the drum sets.

It’s just his voice that sounds awful, it’s just noise at this point.

Like I said, it would be a much different experience being there.

Bet he doesn’t do Sacrifice with this voice. Which is a shame because it’s my fave of his.

Sure, but it’s also more like Elton & GNR being bumped for Little Richard and Roy Orbison in 1993.

it’s just a self fulfilling prophecy for newer artists not having the ‘star power’ of older acts.
There are obviously newer bands/artists that could headline and I don't know why not, see muse in 04 for example who were not that big yet.

I certainly agree that it's way more noticeable than usual. I just quipped to my uninterested kids that the Antiques Roadshow is a fitting BBC1 warm up act. They didn't laugh

probably didn’t get the reference, grandad!

Elton would be okay if he didn't shout his way through every single song. He cannot sing softly at all, some of these songs are supposed to be ballads but he's sings every song like a rock singer

Reckon he'll play it given it's his last ever gig. Fingers crossed.

I'm hoping he plays I guess that's why they call it the blues.
