And just like that, Bayern controls their own destiny again. Win out and they are champions. Granted, winning out looks unlikely given their current injury crisis but the thought might help their mentality.
Hope that Gladbach go through a repeat of their glorious 2007/08 Zweita campaign.
Disgusting.
Why? Because for once they did against Leverkusen and not Bayern?
Had they done it against Bayern everybody would have celebrated.
Union or Bremen didn't okay differently.
Welcome in champions race Leverkusen. Let's see, whether they handle the mounting pressure better than Dortmund last year.
So far they have been very lucky with injuries at least compared to Bayern.
Already crying? You‘ll only be one point behind after losing to Bayern. There’s still hope!Oh, come on. Last season's title race was decided in your favor by a disastrous referee error. And Bayern fans and their media are still bringing up our penalty against you guys despite that being a clear foul on Hofmann.

Of course.
Because Bundesliga is a tragically broken competition and I admire your ability to even care about the title race anymore.
No idea what you are talking about. I never even mentioned the ref.Oh, come on. Last season's title race was decided in your favor by a disastrous referee error.
You guys been very lucky this season so far. How many times you won a match in extra time? And Bayern fans and their media are still bringing up our penalty against you guys despite that being a clear foul on Hofmann.

It's just nice to see other teams struggling against a low block.

It will be a long season for Bayer. I love these tight title races. So please don't do a Leverkusen too early.
I will never understand the common perception among football fans that winning late is somehow inherently luckyYou guys been very lucky this season so far. How many times you won a match in extra time?
Good signing

An English speaking board where people know nothing about Karlsruhe and probably think it’s the graveyard where Charlemagne is buried. This thread bumped and it's not about Karlsruhe demolishing Hamburg in their own ground? What is this?!
Like I said, inexcusable! An English speaking board where people know nothing about Karlsruhe and probably think it’s the graveyard where Charlemagne is buried.
It’s up to you to set this injustice right. I believe in you.Like I said, inexcusable!
I am a big supporter of anyone beating up that horrible club HSV so I hope that you can forgive my ignorance for not knowing that the mighty KSC took them on today!Like I said, inexcusable!
Schloterbeck has been such a disappointment since moving to Dortmund. Looked like a talented player but has been nothing much average since moving, he's at Ginter level of disappointment.
Sule has been quite bad since moving as well, maybe it's something in Dortmund.
That is because we miss times when players like Scholl, Hassler, Buchwald played. Bring Hassler and Scholl back. This thread bumped and it's not about Karlsruhe demolishing Hamburg in their own ground? What is this?!
And the legend Sean Dundee! That is because we miss times when players like Scholl, Hassler, Buchwald played. Bring Hassler and Scholl back.

I’m pretty sure he did in 90’s. Otherwise, why do I remember him playing there.Pardon me but I can't remember Buchwald ever playing for Karlsruhe.
There was a time when Karlsruhe was our favorite feeder club. Scholl, Kreuzer, Sternkopf and most of all Oliver Kahn.
You are correct. He finished his career there after coming back from playing in Japan. But he is most famous for playing for VfB Stuttgart.I’m pretty sure he did in 90’s. Otherwise, why do I remember him playing there.
I think that's what it looks like when you have to force a too thin squad through three competitions. The fact that Tuchel at times had only 15 players available is crazy.

He was like 36 at the time he played in Karlsruhe. Wasn't particularly noteworthy, but a club like KSC having a world cup champion play for them is always kind of niceMay bad then. I remember he went to Japan at the end of his career but didn't know he joined Karlsruhe afterwards.
You had even 2 didn't you? Haessler played there several years even in his prime, if my memory doesn't trick me.He was like 36 at the time he played in Karlsruhe. Wasn't particularly noteworthy, but a club like KSC having a world cup champion play for them is always kind of nice
He did! To this day I have no idea what kind of black magic brought an absolute legend like Icke, in his prime, to Karlsruhe. Fantastic player, real role model professional as wellYou had even 2 didn't you? Haessler played there several years even in his prime, if my memory doesn't trick me.

Well, while we're on the topic, KSC 2000 was a Schmieder (long time president from the 80's till the late 90's iirc) project. However it was the relegation to the third division 99/00 that really killed the club off. We had spent more than we had to get back up and it backfired terribly. The relegation into the third division also meant our second team (that almost won promotion from the third division that season!) had to be relegated too and despite coming back to 2.Bundesliga relatively quickly things have never been the same, the pipeline of talent tried up (save the occasional good one like Stindl and later Hakan). Hoffenheim buying/poaching 5 generations of our youth academy with "Fahrtgeld" didn't help either. Also DFB relegated us via a Jahn Regensburg dive back to the now existing 3.Bundesliga and then the now famous Gräfe decision against Hamburg. Add to that the hilarious fact we actually had a game were one of the referees did jail time for bending it and the DFB decided it wasn't bent enough for a replay (3.12.2004 vs Duisburg). All of that led some of our support to just say feck it, what's the point.Karlsruhe in the early and mid nineties had been quite successful. Comparable to Frankfurt these days.
I remember Schäfer talking about the KSC 2000 or something like that, only to have disastrous season in 97/98 and going down to the second division.
Unlike the FCK which got relegated 2 years earlier and got immediately promoted the following year, Karlsruhe for some reason couldn't turn the tide and got stuck in Liga 2 for several years.
Excellent summary, yeah. KSC 2000 was all Schmieder and biting off more than you can chew.Well, while we're on the topic, KSC 2000 was a Schmieder (long time president from the 80's till the late 90's iirc) project. Slowly but surely we are currently building ourselves up to be fecked over by DFB again.
*Spent some years of my youth there, that's why I care.
Thanks. I don't really blame Hamburg, and them being fecked over with 14 minutes in Heidenheim last season (where Heidenheim was practically allowed to play until promoted) has worn off any bad feelings towards them. Other than their coach I don't dislike them. For me it was the accumulation of so much DFB bs that led to so many KSC fans becoming bitter about HSV, but they didn't dive or do anything dirty (looking at you Regensburg), they just did what I'd expect our players to do, and did it well (Diaz).Excellent summary, yeah. KSC 2000 was all Schmieder and biting off more than you can chew.
I was there when Rafael Diaz scored that freekick. Still haunts me and I take great pleasure in seeing Hamburg going from unrelegateable to unpromotable. The decision wasn't their fault, but feck them regardless
Sterni was most successful as a Bravo poster boy I honestly can't remember any match where he proved what an alleged talent he was. And Kreuzer.. Well in today's football even defenders need *some* football skill. It was always fun watching him warming up. I completely suck at football and my keepie-uppie all time record is 4 times. So was his (but he was pretty good as a man marker. Poor man's Jürgen Kohler)Pardon me but I can't remember Buchwald ever playing for Karlsruhe.
