Akanji is so disappointing. There was a time I thought he was the biggest CB talent in the BL, but he's just average now. At first I thought it was because of his injury, but it's been a long time now since he recovered and he's just not as good as he once was (or maybe he never was I just thought wrong).

It’s truly a great goal. The hype around him is so crazy since he did not physically outmuscle his opponents at youth level, but outplayed them. He’s gonna be a good one.
So so poor without Haaland.

I really don't think Dortmund can afford to wait until summer to appoint a proper new head coach.
Who do you think they will go for? The commentators here were saying they could do with someone experienced who will not let the players dictate where they play.
It's rumoured they'll get Rose in summer (Favre's contract was up in summer anyway so they might have been trying to tie that up already even before the sacking). But I don't know how certain this is, German press reported it as rumours, Di Marzio claimed it's basically done, for what it's worth (He did so before with Oliver Torres, and he was wrong eventually, even though he was clearly well informed to a certain degree.)
But is that the right choice? We had the discussion here a couple of pages ago. I also said there which name sounds like the best candidate to me, but it seems a kind of curveball name to everyone else - Pochettino.
Moreover, the season is still really long, after claiming there was a need to fire Favre as the season's target achievements were 'in danger', I can't imagine Terzic will look more clearly able to carry those to safety. That's why I think they need someone sooner rather than later.

Dortmund are lucky that they will have not much competition (Probably only Mönchengladbach) for the 4th place.

Lucky for us and unlucky for Dortmund that Sancho wasn't sold in summer. Will probably go for 2/3rd of the price now.
Wolfsburg are tough to score against, but they don't offer much in attack, I don't think it's particularly likely that they will go on a winning run.
Gladbach are capable, but they are getting chewed out by the schedule and doubts about Rose's and several of their player's future with the club look to be constant distraction the closer we get to the summer.
On the other hand it's hard to say how Dortmund will finish the season at this point.
There is still plenty of football to be played, what happens in 2021 will have way more effect on his valuation that what happened until now.
Mendyl is supposed to be a LB, but he's only played 25 minutes this season, because he couldn't get past Oczipka
Schöpf is the guy who can play everywhere, but shouldn't play anywhere. He's played 360 minutes thus far.
Stambouli is a CB/DM and it really shows when they play him at RB, together with Oczipka both their FBs stand for an abyssmal lack of pace and mobility.
Ludewig, the 20 year old player they took from Barnsley to replace Caligiuri seems to be completely out of favour now.
Boujellab is an academy player who they tried to transition into the first team over the summer, then they dropped him back to the u23 for a couple of games, now he's a starter.
Raman is an attacking mid who has to play as a make-shift striker.
Fährmann is one of three keepers they used this season, he began as the number one, then Rönnow took his spot, now he's first choice again.
If you see that team sheet as a Schalke fan you probably bring out the strong stuff right away. It's a train wreck of epic proportions, they have two full backs with the mobility of a CB in his 30s and they have two "wingers" who probably should be fullbacks, but can't get minutes there. The attack is then completed by an academy player and a Midfielder who has to try his luck as a striker. They are playing the next worst team in the league, a game they kind of have to win and their game plan looks to be to defend for 90 minutes and hope for a penalty.

Aaand Bielefeld take the lead against Schalke. They're seriously chasing that winless streak record.
I'm watching the game in full. Bielefeld are very deserving with their lead, hit the post just before half time and could have had another two or three great chances with just a little bit more precision in the final pass. There's absolutely no pressure on Bielefeld even after the goal, if anything they can relatively patiently play out their possession.
I’m also watching the game now and honestly, looking at this Schalke team, I don’t know of any of them. It is the worst Schalke team I’ve ever seen. Since they’ll probably lose here, and by more than 1 goal most likely, as an avid German football fan, where do you think their next win is coming from? I’m not a betting man but for people who want easy money, I’d suggest putting money on Schalke to finish bottom with 0 wins

It's strange. Weston Mckennie was looking average, though still considered talented, in this same team a year ago and now looks like the new Vidal at Juventus. Schalke has become a sort of parasite for some of its players, sucks all of the ability out of them and makes them look worse.
Players who stay there long enough end up becoming shells of their potential, Goretzka didn't look anywhere near as good as he does now when he eventually left Schalke (though he did look really good when he first got there).

To be honest in terms of names they aren't even that bad:
Fährmann, Kabak, Sane, Nastasic, Stambouli, Serdar, Mascarell, Harit and Uth are supposed to be solid players.
Schalke managed to consistently keep down the goals conceded to "only" one or two against most teams, so if they get (really) lucky I could see them beat Hertha or Hoffenheim - two games ago against Augsburg they got gifted an early second yellow for an opponent and only dropped their lead in stoppage time. So it's not impossible.
But in general I'd say there are 17 teams in Bundesliga that are functional, even if they lack quality or have other issues. It doesn't take a lot of imagination to see Cologne or Mainz string together a couple of results.
But Schalke just look completely hopeless at the moment, so if nothing changes I wouldn't back them against anyone. Today was their easiest game of the season on paper.
2 yellow cards in the 55 before the 0:1, 9 yellow cards in the 40 minutes since. Things turned a bit nasty towards the end.
It's not exactly an original story for this to happen at clubs who have huge expectations, but dysfunctional teams.
You saw the same with Müller, Hummels and Boateng under Kovac and the same will be said of some of the player who struggle at Dortmund currently, once things get back to normal.
Thanks lads. What a hopeless club they are at the moment. Obviously they’re stuck with Stevens now, but considering they’re at risk of bankruptcy should they go down (maybe even if they don’t), could they now have considered one of the English relegation experts like Big Sam, Pulis or Pearson?

Stevens was presented as an interim coach to finish the year for them. The plan has always been to replace him over Christmas.

Across competitions Gladbach have three points from their last six games, just looking at the league it's one win in seven (vs Schalke five games ago). Thuram heading for a lengthy ban is another catastrophe. I don't think the media will keep quiet much longer.
They are supposedly looking at Friedhelm Funkel who would kind of fit that bill. I'm not sure whether that's enough anymore though. They have such gaping holes in their squad and they have fallen behind so far already that just steadying the ship may very well be too little too late. Maybe it's time to go (even more) all-in and give it to some progressive coach (e.g. Alexander Zorniger or Tim Walter) in the hopes that he can find some crazy solution that takes other teams a couple of games to figure out.
