Geovany Quenda | Ornstein: Chelsea agree 7-year deal with option of a further year. Will go to Chelsea in 2026.

It is legit, it is his official account and you can do deals outside the window, just can’t move until the window opens.

Great.

Suspect they will sign Gyokeres as well. Their transfer strategy sems to be to just sign the most hyped players.

According to our forum I'm afraid it might be true. Some say that we might do a double deal and package Essugo and Quenda. No word about the values but apparently the possibility of keeping Quenda one more year and the good relationship Clearlake capital was the deciding factor.

Not too worried about this. If Amorim and our scouts thought he was worth it, we would have gotten him. Maybe they felt that he lacks something for the premier league and decided not to pursue as hard as Chelsea did.

Adnan thinks Liverpool are mostly eye test with a bit of data. Fatality thinks Liverpool are mostly data with a bit of eye test
I believe Liverpool lead by using their brain and then the eye to implement a vision which is then followed by the scouts and supported by the data analytics team. And that all stems from the head coach whose vision is then carried out by the rest of the recruitment structure. The heads of recruitment at Liverpool are Barry Hunter and Dave Fallows and both being in charge of the recruitment structure speaks volumes for their authority when it comes to leading the recruitment at the club.

Data I believe is a valuable tool to back up the process without a doubt, but if you don't have a clue on how you want to implement your vision on the pitch and how the tactical aspects of playing in Klopp's high pressing system affects different positions on the pitch, then it will be very difficult to nail down the recruitment.

It was pretty clear to see that Klopp was targeting pace and power in the first phase with the same players having the responsibility to get the ball forward vertically which was a rule. So the CBs and deeper midfielders provided a high level of duel winning ability to dominate the game high up the pitch in bigger spaces without the ball to reinforce the high press, but they also had the ability to effectively progress the ball forward as a collective unit out of defensive and midfield.

The other poster before he unfortunately had a meltdown was either ignoring all this or was completely oblivious to it. The blueprint Klopp provided via his mind and his eyes from what he'd achieved in football helped the entire Liverpool football structure, work towards signing players for his style of football.

This is where the biggest gains are for us because where Liverpool have had Van Dijk and Konate, we've had Maguire and Lindelof. And eventhough Maguire is a good player, the game right now is asking for more, as far as what each player can provide both in-possession and out of possession in a higher line if the aim is to implement a more proactive attacking style of play. So once this is set in stone there's big gains to be made via the eye test and the marginal gains will follow via data analytics, video analytics etc.

It looks like Quenda is off to Chelsea and they do seem to be stock piling on some very talented players.

Damn shame. Like the look of him but he should be wary of Chelsea given the volume of players they sign and how they treat them.

Looks like we will need to unearth some less obvious talents for lower fees.

Great.

Nah, they don’t really sign peak players on big wages anymore. They’re signing every elite prospect around on big contracts while they’re young and cheap.

I'm guessing this means its gonna be Amad as the RWB with either Garnacho or someone else as the RAM. I'm not totally mad we almost have too many teenagers as part of the main squad, we need more players in their early 20s to join us this summer and we don't have the luxury to loan him back for another season

Just my theory but maybe Ruben and the management team think that there will be more balance is we sign a right footed wingback for that role instead considering we will have Amad/Garnacho/Bruno who will cut in and come inside when playing that RAM role so we need a wingback who will hold the width and go to the byline to get crosses in - someone like Frimpong maybe

I feel it won't be Frimpong, we have probably prioritised a striker. We will get a RWB for cheap, Frimpong would have been more expensive or just as expensive as Quenda.

Would be a piss take if they pull out of the Sancho deal and pick up this kid. When it rains it pours I guess.

Painful lesson for the new management team. Be pro active. Stop standing still till the starting gun or you lose. Be audacious and creative.

Alternative is we circle the drain in mediocrity for a while yet.

They cannot pull out of the sancho deal. It’s an obligation to buy not an option to buy.

Interesting since I think Quenda is a top talent but I'm sure United would have known something about this given Amorims links.

We 100% need a wingback in the summer for the right, time will tell who we will go for.

I think the obligation is dependent on league position although checking the table (no idea how Chelsea are still top four), it’s virtually certain to be an obligation.

There's no way at this point Chelsea will not be obligated, unless they dont win a game for the reason of the season and get points deducted

I really don't get how he got convinced with the "project"? Don't they have like 121454 million wingers already?

Even that kid from Brazil plays on the RW. There's more to this deal.

So they sign him on top of Estevao and let them compete for the same position or what's the plan?

Replaced Sancho already nice!!

In all honesty was just too much risk for a 17 year old. Go get Chris Rig or Dibling and add Vanderson. We need strong physical athletes. Let’s not make mistakes of the past.

Missed out on this guy big time. I’ve not seen us linked with any other RWB so what’s the plan?

Very disappointing news. Obviously wasn’t ideal spending that chunk of money on a left footed 17 year old that would maybe take a year or two to settle but thought he was so good that it might be worth it. Perhaps United might want a right footed player for the role to replicate what Dorgu’s doing. Can’t help feeling it’s a bad move for Quenda as Chelsea are so stacked with wide forwards and have Estevao and Kendry joining soon.

Maybe we should target a few of their old flavour of the months like Andre Santos or Ugochukwu

Ye isn’t it if they finished 14th or below? That ain’t happening so we’re getting 25m

They have Malo Gusto..I don't understand

So, let me get this straight. They bought Quenda and will ship Sancho back to us. We should send some humongous bowl of shit to their address which will explode once all is said and done.

Well that’s a bit shit.

Assuming Quenda or one of their wingers, goes to RC Strasbourg for a season?

Not happening Sancho to Chelsea is done unless Chelsea somehow contrived to finish outside top 13 in PL .

Mind you, am still optimistic that this is bs and they have to buy him. But in case its not, humongous bowl of shit with a thank you note would be appropriate.

It’s a shame as he looks a really promising player, it’s mad how many wingers Chelsea seem to keep signing.

I still hope we sign someone at RWB but maybe it will just be Amad and Dalot as the options. We were linked to Wesley Franca who would be a cheaper option, I can’t see us paying a huge fee for Frimpong.

That project is a 9 year contract with a massive pay hike
Fair enough, don't blame players for securing their future like that. I'm sure the wages won't be high compared to the EPL players but will definitely be a lot more than he's earning right now.

Wonder how much the transfer fee is. It's funny that if it was us Fabrizio would have the amount down till the penny!

We didn't miss out on him, because Chelsea was in a better position to deal with him. Also, it makes absolutely sense to let him grow for another season there. So, it makes sense for all parties.

He's got a release clause of £33m (just recently confirmed that it's valid again from Summer 25, after expiring last summer) which is likely cheaper than what Quenda cost. Now feels like it's him or we're fecked. I heard he prefers a move to Barcelona or Real but they don't seem interested so might have a outsider chance (if he doesn't join Chelsea too...). Liverpool could also be interested. Who knows...

I’ve seen us being linked to Roger Fernandes from Braga lately maybe that’s why? He looks pretty similar to Quenda. Now I don’t know about him as a RWB though.
