Get Dan Hannan, Boris Johnson and David Davis in a room with some Swedish university political students.

Then whilst they're concentrating on that, we'll revoke Article 50 and ask our good friends in the EU to negotiate a new Treaty moving our membership sideways

I wouldnt trust boris and davies with my dog. Also the uk has no friends in the eu. Not after the insults, the backstabbings and the threats. Its all business now and we all know who holds the longest part of the stick

No, just an observation of how oz and nz can work things out sensibly. Europe needs rules, regulations red tape, bullshit and Junk.

Wow. You actually think politics in Aus/NZ can be reasonably compared with those of Europe? My 8 year old has a globe I'm sure he could lend you. Unfortunate he's not started learning history yet, so can't help you there.

I honestly think a stronger leader of the opposition would have been able to stop us from the hard Brexit we're falling into.
Who ?

See McDonnell today - they don't care about single market access. This should have been the time to attack May's Brexit cause and argue for the Labour vision, but the current leadership isn't interested at all. The same was true of the post-referendum period. Before May became PM, no-one had given the public a picture of what the referendum results would mean. That's a failure of the Corbyn leadership, probably the largest to date.

I don't think they don't care about the single market, it's that once you say that you want access to single market then inevitably the racist and xenophobic follow up question will be - ''so you want to give up the control of your boarders then''. I'm not saying Labour argument is a good one, it's not and I would rather McDonnell and Corbyn be honest say that this borders stuff is a load of shite, but I can see why they are doing it.

Not sure exactly what point you're making here. Could you perhaps be a little more condescending?

Stanley's about as irritating as it gets in all these discussions, so I can't be arsed minding my manners as far as he's concerned.

My point is that it's fecking stupid to use Aus/NZ as a stick to beat the EU with because policies that work in geographically isolated and under-populated ex-colonies isn't necessarily going to work in a much more complex and heavily populated region like Europe, for obvious reasons.

Yeah, I'm sure the Aussies and Kiwis didn't bother about boring stuff like rules and regulations, the PMs just met up one day, had a beer and said they'd make their agreement happen.

It'd be really funny if Boris went to challenge May for the leadership position and Gove then backstabbed Boris again, still believing he's got a chance.

If may fails with queens speech does this cabinet she has appointed stay as is and become the shadow cabinet assuming Corbyns passes? Or does she reshuffle again?
It won't fail, but if in the unlikely circumstances it does, she'd resign and a whole new cabinet would end up being formed as a result of the new leader of the Conservative party coming in.

And the identity of Lord Buckethead is revealed...

In 1867, all Maori men agen over 21 were able to vote. As such, Māori were universally franchised 12 years prior to European men.

On 19 September 1893 the governor, Lord Glasgow, signed a new Electoral Act into law. As a result, New Zealand became the first self-governing nation in the world in which all women had the right to vote in parliamentary elections.

Credit to the reporter for expressing the sentiment of many and its good that May hear these things from outside her party.

May however has gone into auto-pilot denial mode, as her answers lack complete empathy to what has happened. Surely, on a human level, this public humuliation and criticism must have devestated her.

Or maybe this is just how she is: teflon like to criticsm and tone deaf to reality. If thats the case, we have a major problem as she will cling to power until someone literally boots her out.

I just think she's good a putting on a brave face.
Look at her speech in Maidenhead? She was stuttering. She's obviously devastated but she's been reacting this way for so long that she can't possibly change.

George Osborne, whilst not an MP currently, surely will be looking to get into the Commons and stand for the Leadership in the future.

Not sure, he seems to be really enjoying his new found career as Editor at the LES.

She really is the worst politician I think I've ever seen. Was she this bad as Home Secretary or has she regressed?

From those answers its evident that Maybot 2000 is past her use date and should be scheduled in for decommissioning.

That's brutal. She's so inept under fire it's amazing she's ended up with the job she has. The massive "clank" each time she crowbars in the line about "helping people with the challenges they face in their everyday lives" (painfully transparent attempt to win back red votes) is embarrassing to watch. I've seen footballers display their media training more effectively than she did in that interview.

I'd feel sorry for her but power-crazed shit-heads like that deserve no sympathy. Live by the sword, die by the sword.

She didn't get a lot of attention but her record is shit. Police cuts, and a failure to even begin meeting the immigration targets her own party set. She was often viewed favourably because a lot of people saw a Thatcher-style politician in her, but now she's come to the forefront it's clear how incompetent she is.

'Doesn't she look tired?'

It couldn't be more transparent from that video that they're trying to change tact*and show more empathy to common folk, at least in what they say ( I doubt it will be backed up by actions). At one point I really thought she was going to slip up and say "for the many not just the few".

I have a feeling that if she continues this approach, a journalist will ask he if she's trying to serve the many and not the few now and it will be interesting if she spots the troll.

*whoever told me off for tact last time can go fornicate with them self.

Yeah, I think you're right. Objectively speaking, this is her only course of action right now.

If she resigned, she would subject the country to even more chaos and embarrassment which would be suicidal just as Brexit negotiations start. Despite what has happened, it is in the best interests of the Conservative party and the country for some stability, no matter how short that may be. And so if she publicly admits fault for the election catastrophe, she weakens her position as Prime Minister even further, turning her from lame duck into dead duck.

Her greatest humiliation is that others will now determine how long she stays in office. So her only viable strategy is for some short term stability and to just plough ahead until it's decided by others that she has to make way.

I feel a little sorry for her: she's not a lying war-monger like Blair or a fake charm merchant like Cameron. I think she is a virtuous and hard working team player who should never have been promoted into the top leadership position. Ultimately, she got the top job without being properly vetted via an election and so she was found to be lacking in true leadership skills when she did.

It's a true oddity of the British voting system that one can become Prime Minister without a public vote and I think it should be changed. If a ruling Government decides it wants to change its leader and Prime Minister, it should be mandatory to call a national election. It has happened way too often in the past (Major, Brown, May) and is a very surreptitious way for a political party to shift direction against its stated manifesto.
