This isn't true, as far as I know.

I don't know how to post a photo or a link so see below taken from The Independent

"Time after time, the Labour party’s worst leader in history has called it right. When he had a full head of hair and weighed a pound or two less, he was out on the streets marching (and being arrested) for the end of apartheid in South Africa and the release of Nelson Mandela, who was then branded a terrorist. I know because, like thousands of others, I saw him there."

I think there is a big, big difference between trying to work toward resolvng the conflict in NI (assuming that is what you are referring to as I cannot think of anything else you could be referring to) and supporting middle Eastern Nationalists blowing up kids at the MEN.

Corbyn does have some complex views on the world which need to be properly understood before you judge. Remember Corbyn was one of the first UK politicians to openly support Mandela and campaign for his release

Corbyn was involved in a number of protests and campaigns for the release of convicted terrorists including IRA members and others, outside of any involvement in peace negotiations.

I think Ubik is right. By the early 80's most of us on the left were anti-apartheid. No surprise that Corbyn was also. I don't know when he joined with the movement I certainly had no awareness that he was in any way a pioneer in it.

I think you need to dig a bit deeper. Can you tell me, for instance, why internment was such a roadblock on the way to a negotiated settlement?

I am sure Corbyn didn't invent the idea but remember I said "one of the first UK politicians"

Surely you acknowledge that there is a world of difference between having an opinion privately or amongst friends and holding that position as an MP?

I don't doubt that he campaigned, but the anti-apartheid movement was mainstream within Labour and the left generally since the 50s, and the likes of Jeremy Thorpe was trying to get people like Mandela and other prisoners freed since the 60s, and Callaghan as PM even sent Mandela official birthday greetings whilst he was in prison in the 70s.

That photo that goes around of him being arrested was after a demo during a non-stop picket of the South African embassy in '84, which the nationwide AAM had been trying to avoid.

Yup. Old people vote and feck over the young

A lot of people above the age of 60 are very unhappy about the Tory manifesto particularly regarding changes to pension plans and benefits etc. They will surely recognise that a Tory government will hurt them more than a coalition government led by Labour. I think election day will throw up some surprises.

Yeah. The truth is I just don't know. His anti-racist stance would probably have been reinforced during his stint doing Voluntary Service Overseas in Jamaica as a young man.

Captain Ska's "Liar Liar" has apparently been taken out of the charts after reaching No. 1 so the mainstream radio doesn't have to play it.

Can this be real?

:lol::lol::lol:

Oh the thoughts, the horrible horrible thoughts.

Yes.

God, she's creepy.
Yeah the longer the election goes on the more you can see why they are trying to avoid any sort of a public appearance. Creepiness a side I find that she constantly looks out of her depth, she hasn't even got the kind of coldness like Thatcher, which can be actually be a positive.
