Losing tonight hurts but nobody can be surprised that Southgate didn't get us over the line. Once again we got lucky with the draw and once again we lost to the first truly top team we faced. It's possible that England just lack a winning mentality. Southgate surely ain't the coach to change that.

Stuck with out of form players - coward of a manager
We needed width. Gordon for Foden, stretch the left side. We had no outlet, if you play low block, have an outlet at least. The goals conceded were poor mistakes but we offered nothing going forward. These are players who play high press for the clubs and pass without effort yet they fall apart here.
Hopefully, I don’t have to hear him again, pre-match, for either club or country.

These players are some of the best in the world (not just the 4 I mentioned), and ever since probably the 2018 World Cup, England should be going into these tournaments as one of the biggest favorites and play good, dominating football even if they don't win anything.
There's no shame in losing to a very good Spanish side and even a decent Italian side in two Euros finals...however, the road to these finals and the cowardly tactical approach, lack of team balance, bad structure is unacceptable with this group of players. Both in the two finals and on the road to them. Same with the World Cup.
