Gareth Bale

Not for £120M no thanks. You'd be hard pressed to convince me he's worth half that. I'd say about £50M is right.

if Real sell him, it wont be more than they paid for him, probably less. 120m is absolutely ridiculous, dont know where that number came from, probably express.

Why should we give more then 40mil for him? He isn't that good, he needs a lot of freedom to be effective. He is really overrated and I hope we want go for him.

No he is very good but just not more than 80m good imo

He'll come to us if we get chimps league.

Er, i mean Champs league.

Dont see how his value has risen by 35m. madrid should be lucky to get there money back.

So two weeks in a row Bale has angered Ronaldo and fans for not passing to him (how dare he, jesus christ), sections of the fans boo'ing the guy who has scored important goals in every major final he has played in for them and Gareth himself admitting that he's family miss home.. I'm starting to believe this could just happen.

He is exactly what we need.

We lack pace and creativity, Di Maria aside. He can win games on his own as he has proven many times.

I would definitely take him for 85m

We should forget about Falcao and bring in Bale and Reus and move towards 4-3-3.

Carrick - Blind - Di Maria

Bale - Rooney - Reus

Can you imagine Carrick and Blind unleashing and protecting that four on the break?

We'd have such a flexible squad formation wise too able to change things up by bringing in Mata, Herrera, Fellaini, Wilson ect.

On top of it all, all those players work their arse off for the team.

Nah, buy Reus only as he would cost about £20million (apparently). Buy Pogba for £50million.

Buy all 3 and have Pogba's taking over from Micheal Carrot.

While I think hes a brilliant player and among the best in the world but I didnt think he was worth his initial transfer fee and certainly not worth £120m. Personally I think he should be worth the same as di Maria.

No doubt I would love to have him at United but only after defense and midfield are reinforced with quality players.

The 120 million is completely made up press bollocks, so it shouldn't be anywhere near the discussion about Bale!

I sure hope so. Would not be happy us spending that money on Bale. Sorry, but he's just not worth that. Madrid can feck off if that's what they want.

that crossfield ball to ronaldo which led to the first goal.

and then his freekick.

absolutely brilliant this guy. he really is. mad that the real fans never really took him dearly enough, despite scoring in 3 or 4 cup finals for them.:lol::lol:

if he is going to leave real i really hope ed and louis make their move quickly. real selling bale does sound unlikely to happen but they did ditched di maria for james last summer and nothing is impossible with real madrid. and even us in the transfer market these days too.

Madrid were made a laughing stock when they paid 90m for him. I trust Woody to overpay but 120m is just ridiculous.

Would he go back to Spurs if he were to return to England,do they have a clause in the sale to Madrid where they get first offer ?
From scoring in a champions league final to scoring in a champions league qualifier once every 3-4 years?

Yeah Spurs can easily use the Bale money from last season to buy him back.

The Madrid fans really are a bunch of knobheads. Woody! Save him from this nightmare!

As good as he is, and fair play to him for doing so well last season, but he was never worth the £100 odd million that Madrid paid for him, and he's not even close to being worth £120 million ffs. He's not worth half of that in all honesty.

I'd be pretty disgusted if we spent that kind of money on Gareth fecking Bale.

Most goals and assists (not including penalties) in the last 30 months.

Messi 114
Ronaldo 105
Suarez 86
Bale 69
Benzema 67
Lewandowski 67
Costa 64
Sanchez 64
Van Persie 61
Rooney 59

And people think Bale's been a failure at Real Madrid.

Youngest player up on that list; with Sanchez and Costa a year older and Suarez a couple of years.

He's worth way more than £60m, especially being fit, providing genuine width, quicker than almost every footballer in the world and built like an absolute tank. Add in being British, used to the league, able to defend and marketable.

The stats!

£120 million is far too much. As it's not my money, I won't be overly disappointed if we get him though

Firstly, nobody says Bale has been a failure. They say (correctly) that he needs to start doing more and that his stats are a lot better than his actual performances. Plus his defending has gone to shit, I can't remember what he was like at Spurs defensively but at Real Madrid he's lazy and has been at fault for a few goals because he didn't bother tracking back.

Marketable? Not overly.....He's Welsh, hardly going to assist us in cracking a huge market. He's far less glamourous than the 3 above him on that list. Suarez will prob be available for 30-40m in the summer and he in our team (if he performs anything like his anfield days) would all but guarantee the league.

wat?

Even if he was, its obviously not here

No obviously about it. LVG when looking at the best attackers available will choose based on that I'm sure. The notion that he would sanction a 120m bid for Bale if Suarez was being touted about for 35m seems far fetched to me. I mean, we had a similar handful on our hands with Cantona...
