Both definitely more suited to a possession game against a tight defence (well mata, di maria less so). Bale certainly isn't much of an upgrade on them, and if all at their best he isn't at all. That's why i don't want us to spend so much on him.

I feel sorry for him, the abuse he receives is only due to his astronomical price tag. Tonight I wanted him to score one one level, for him. Bale didn't do that bad. He did about as good as a player that doesn't win the game for his team can. Dangerous shots, dangerous movement... That's not a bad game by any means. A little better finishing and it would be man-of-the-match performance. Let's be fair.
