why does everyone think he'll be out of madrid so soon?

Rumours.

Heard an interesting discussion about it on Talk Sport the other night. Their "in the know guy" said Madrid are close to FFP limits so may need to sell. With Reus rumoured to be sewn up by Madrid and apparently only costing £20 million, it looks like good business. Also, apparently Bale's misses is a bit homesick too, and friends reported saying that Bale himself was missing home, and Wales in particular.

I would say more rumours but it isn't that far fetched and after Perez selling Di Maria last year, who knows?

In:-

Bale - £85m (give Madrid what they paid for him).
Strootman - £35m
Hummels - £38m
Falcao - negotiate and try get the fee down to £35m (if does well 2nd half of the season).
Depay - £25m

£218m

Outs:-

Fletcher - Free
Anderson - Free
Fellaini - £20m
Mata - £28m
Nani - £15m
Javier Hernandez - £10m
2 or 3 youngsters who won't make it here like Will Keane - £5m

£73m

Net spend:- £145m (£110m without Falcao)

I'd be happy with that summer.

I'd bump the Bale fee up 10-15 and the Fellaini, Nani and Mata ones about 5 a piece.

We very rarely get what we should when selling players and I just don't know who is going to pay 20 for Fellaini and damn near 30 for Mata.

Football manager at it's finest.

If only it were that simple.

This. 300k is too much though (because then the likes of Di Maria and potential new world class signings may ask for it) but 20m for BVB and the same for Reus (and a few millions for hsi agent) may do the job. A lot of money plus a superstar here may be better than less money and not guaranteed a place on the first team for Madrid/Bayern.

Saying that, Reus doesn't seem to be a money whore so who knows.

If that really what we're offering, he'll take it. 30M outright is too much to refuse.

Although we'll be setting a precedence and opening a can of worms, I'm sure there are some kind of gentlemen agreement not to resort to this tactics. If we manage to pull this off every players will follow suit and every player will refuse want to run down their contract or making sure a cheap minimum buyout clause is active.

It'll shook the foundation of contract world.

Sack Carlo, sell Bale.

We've got Jese coming back, he's a very special player and costs us nothing. Sell Bale for 80, Buy Reus for 20 and Kun for 60 and we're set. Our team is amazing as it is, but like that we'd destroy everything.

Spend the rest on the oversized Xbox and that's that. Good business all around.

Oh, yeah, ask for de Gea to be included in the deal aswell 'cos we need a backup keeper for our backup keeper. ;-)

GTFO!

Bale would be a perfect fit for us, but he's not leaving Madrid any time soon IMO. It isn't like he's failing over there is it? Also £120m  Is one player worth that amount of money? Nope. How many world class defenders could we buy with that along with a player like Strootman? I know we are rich with income, but surely an expenditure like this one would result in us having to watch funds for FFP?

Let's buy Messi instead.

Or Ronaldo.

But yeah, if we can't get them, Bale me!

Doesn't matter no player is worth that on the field, we're selling Chevys and noodle bowls here people! Bale will be in a commercial loading himself into the back of a Chevy truck with a pitchfork this time next month.

Someone plays too much fifa....who on earth is going to give us £20mill for fellaini, £15 for nani, £28 for mata, we would be lucky to get £40 million for them combined.

Also I highly doubt we would sign all those players in one window. In dreamland maybe but real life not a chance.

Too much FM I'd say.

I don't really no, in reality was playing too much FIFA last summer? Actually I'm going by reports that United are going to spend big again.

Do i think we'll sign and sell all those players i listed for those prices, no I'm not Nostradamus, lighten up it's Christmas.

I would straight laugh at that myself, but after last transfer window.... it really is not too far fetched what he suggest.

I remember the day we sign Nani/Ronaldo/Anderson, it's like SAF picks a copy of FM and simply purchase them wonderkids

Bale would be fine in our team - I just dont want another injury prone player to arrive and Bale is very strong.

To strengthen my argument, for all the money we spent in the Summer, only Falcao started the game for us today. All our other Summer signings are injured.

Hummels, Vidal, Strootman - who are favourites on this forum - are all injury prone or returning from major injury, which is why I am dubious about them.
I dont want us to spend another £150M (like this Summer) and have all our signings sit in the physio room.

Still, £120M for Bale is a bit too much. Maybe in the region of £80M.
He is a midfield powerhouse for sure and could be our main man in midfield for the next few years. Blind could sit beside/behind him.

If (and its a big if) we were to sign him, the fee would be more like £80mil, maybe £90mil.
These ridiculous prices quoted for players hardly ever end up that price unless its Madrid themselves doing the buying.
I'd take him at £80mil for sure but i doubt we would touch him at £120mil although i feel that price is probably the press adding in potential wages as well.

Regardless of whether we do get him, i hope we start getting rid of the considerable deadwood STILL in the squad, deadwood on high wages i'd hazard a guess.
We make ridiculous amounts of money but if we keep spending huge sums on players and offering huge wages to these players, even we will end up on FFP's doorstep pretty quickly.

Honestly, I think I'd take Bale over Di Maria. But maybe because I enjoy Bale's style of play more than ADM's.

We really do need to buy a wide player. A front 4 of RVP or Falcao up top with Rooney in the hole and Di Maria and a dangerous player like Bale or Robben on the right and we'd have the sort of insane attack with 3 players scoring more than 1 in 2 that Madrid and Bayern have and Barca will once Suarez is normal again.

We might be too open at times, but considering there are 34 Prem games a year not against Citeh and Chelsea...

----------------RVP/Falcao------------------------ (Wilson)
--DiMaria/Nani---Rooney/Mata---Bale/Robben (Januzaj)
------------Herrera/Strootman----------------- (Pereira)
---------------Blind/Carrick--------------------- (Fletcher)
Shaw/LB------------------------Rafael/Valencia (Blackett)
------------CB/Rojo--Smalling/Jones----------- (Evans, Mcnair)
----------------De Gea-----------------------------

would surely see us at least at the 82-83 goal mark that Chelsea and Citeh look set to hit this year, rather than the 69-70 or so we're about to hit.

We're really not that far from a proper, scary team. We just need a serious threat like Bale or Robben out wide and a good CM to really have the kind of front 6 that Chelsea posses with dangerous players at positions that suit them.

Defense is another question, but a single signing (or a small one at FB, too) and health might even be enough there.

But yeah, we need a wide threat.

If we are in dire need of an established wide threat, splash a quarter (or a third) of that money on Robben would make far more sense than going after Bale. The only established player of that kind I would trust in helping us would be Robben, 'cause I would settle for Depay and Januzaj otherwise.

We could bring in Depay but let's not forget Nani. We do have fair options.

He cost Madrid £100m or whatever and he has since proved himself at the very top level. How much would he cost now???

Why do people keep saying the £120m figure probably includes wages? £300k per week for a 5 year deal is £78m, and there's no way Bale leaves Madrid for & £42m.

Honestly tho, im not a bale fan. The numbers ushered around are horrendous in my veiw. Anyone priced over 100m surely only leaves one of two players, and bale would be no where close to those two. Im not sure how madrid value their targets, and not sure i care to be honest, but surely our board values Bale no where near 120m. Think of how devistating our team could be if that figure was spent else where.

He was 100mil Euros

Bale cost Madrid 100mil Euros according to the English press while the Spanish press said he cost 91mil Euros which is £77mil.
Do you really think Madrid would be asking for £120mil when they only paid around £77mil for him?, especially when it sounds like they may be more than willing to let him go due to FFP.

Is there any reason to believe this other than a few stories dreamed up in the press? or are RM dissatisfied with him this season?

I thought he had settled into the team well...even tho I admit to not following Spanish Football much these days.

He's done quite well at Madrid but the rumours are that Madrid are struggling with FFP and they still have other targets they want to get.

Bales goal against Barca where he ran practically the whole length of the pitch was just
Imagine he did that at OT

FFS

Madrid have 400 odd million to free up for their stadium redevelopment. Not saying they need to sell to stay afloat, but their whole identity and revenue stream are made up of big name singnings and exploiting their image. They just might have to sell to buy to continue.
