Isn't messi's buy out clause only €50m more... Can't addidas buy him for us instead (or as well) and we can spend our money raping dortmund for hummles gundogan and pizieck
Bale is more likely to be receptive to a move than Messi would be is my guess.

Bale will leave Madrid either this summer or next, and we will be in for him.

Woodward seems to have a different view than previous. We are going to go for the jugular. We are spending big because we want the champions league.

I'd be extremely amazed if we don't spend well over £100m again this summer, and if one of the best and most marketable players in the world is available, it's a no brainer.

Not at that price. Id be a little happier at half that.

Hes a great player but extremely one dimensional. If he loses a yard of pace all of a sudden he would really struggle.

I highly doubt it's 120m transfer fee. It'll be 120m transfer and wages included. How much is Bale on at Madrid right now? Multiply that (plus a wage rise if he signs for United) by 52 and then by 5, and 120 becomes ~60-70m transfer fee.

This. 300k is too much though (because then the likes of Di Maria and potential new world class signings may ask for it) but 20m for BVB and the same for Reus (and a few millions for hsi agent) may do the job. A lot of money plus a superstar here may be better than less money and not guaranteed a place on the first team for Madrid/Bayern.

Saying that, Reus doesn't seem to be a money whore so who knows.

An offerr he can't refuse 30m that. 5 years salary for a signature

Bale for £120m? Who calls that a no-brainer? Do people really know what they're talking about?

Yea, similar to how Di Maria was a 100m signing, when news first broke out.

I've seen these rumours that the ownership want to sign him because it promotes the "galactico's" policy so that when they sell the club it is an incredibly attractive package. I say its rubbish, and I think signing Bale would be a bit silly.

Sign Depay, get Nani back and spend the rest elsewhere. Of course he'd be brilliant here but he was only ever worth 50m tops imo. For us to match what they paid or better it as some are suggesting is too much for me.

Daily Mail claim to have spoken directly to his representatives who say that he has absolutely no intention of moving anywhere. Only way it's happening is if Real just don't want him any more.

I doubt that Madrid will sell him cheaper than for what they signed him. But if it is included wages, then it would be a brilliant deal for us.

My guess is that the club has looked into how we can continue to expand our global profile and increase revenues and came to the conclusion that we need to be a real force in the Champions League and have star attractions.

As long as we continue to promote youth while doing this, I think it's a very exciting proposition.

think this is all being fuelled by Reus to Madrid talk.....I doubt Madrid are that keen on getting rid given his impact and the Reus deal would be a relatively cheap one

he's turned us down before in favour of Madrid - I suppose Madrid might sell for the right price but I wouldn't pay more than Di Maria for him

for 120 million I'd want Varane and Modric sitting on the plane next to him

You genuinely think £200k a week would be a wage rise for him?

At that price, it is not worth it, unfortunately. I don't think Bale branding power is worth that money.

No it was just a rough estimate on my part. Just read he's apparently on close to 300k/week at Madrid but I don't know how much he's earning exactly. My point was just that 120m sounds like it's inclusive of wages.

It has to be, he was never worth ''Ronaldo money'' and has not increased his value by £35 million since moving.

He's on £256k a week apparently so in or around Rooney, RVP, Falcao and Di Maria money.

5 year contract wages would be 66 million which means the price would be £54 million, which I think that's all he was worth in the first place but I doubt if Madrid were to sell they would do so at such a loss. Only other thing I can think of is the £120m is a buyout installed in his contract.

Yeah sounds much more likely than everything else, Real was his dream move, he want go anywhere the next few seasons. He would rather sit on the bench there than play for us. And I don't see Real pushing him out, Reus is no reason to sell Bale, he is cheap and Real has no problem with having a few stars. In the end they also wanted to keep Di Maria together with James, Bale and Ronaldo.

I'd go £60M max for him. What other club in the world would pay more then that for him?

Why the hell would we pay MORE for Bale if Real Madrid is not 100% interested in keeping him? A rebuy like that should be nothing more than £50m. He was overpaid for to start with.

Because rumours.

We matched Real's bid originally so we know we're at least willing to pay that much for him.

As for why Madrid would get to charge that much if they're not 100% on keeping him, I have no idea. They did it with Di Maria though so why would Bale be any different?

Reus seems keen on Spain if the reports of him expecting to go to Barca before they got Suarez are true, so he probably isn't an option for us, if he did want to come here I'm sure we'd buy him in an instant.

A lot of the current stuff surrounding this story is sensationalistic as you'd expect, but I doubt it's been plucked from thin air, Bale is an excellent player and while our defense is an issue our complete lack of pace up top and wide goal threat is just as big of an issue IMO, especially if LvG is openly admitting he's playing a clearly not ready 19 year old simply because we needed speed.

I keep reading posts about Depay or bringing back Nani, one is a development project and the other is a road we have been down multiple times already and players like Cuadrado and Shaqiri are a country mile off the level we should be aiming for. Bale is in the top 5 in his position in the world, we aren't gonna get any of the other 4 options, so while I'm not saying we will get him or pay that kind of money, none of the other available options are close to his level.

Totally against spending that kind of money on Bale; where's the "we're skint" brigade nowadays? Remember getting in countless debates with those idiots.

Those were the days even though we were never skint. But I tend to agree, and spending that much on Bale doesn't sit right with me.

why does everyone think he'll be out of madrid so soon?
People asked the same question about Di Maria after truly outstanding season. It's Real Madrid. Every summer they buy a new toy from the highest shelf.

If it won't be Bale (yet), there will be others.
