Gareth Bale

How are the games counted exactly? The ones that Bale is on the field for when the fulltime whistle is blown?

What if he's a subbed off before the whistle, but Spurs win?

To keep it simple - Spurs have won where Bale hasn't been involved, sitting on the bench. Spurs haven't won when Bale has played, started or coming on as a sub.

Everton 0 - Tottenham 0

Tottenham line-up:
Gomes, Corluka, King, Woodgate, Bale, Hutton, Huddlestone, Jenas, Modric (81 Pavlyuchenko ), Keane, Defoe

And the streak goes on....

What a sad creature. He should get loaned out to a Championship team or smaller foreign league. Get rid of jinx. I'm wondering if this "jinx" is actually in his mind every time he plays.

BBC-s man of the match.

He gives his all, but his team still doesn't win.

What rubbish. He's just 19, is talented, with bags of potential and was arguably our best player today (although I'd pick Jenas for that).

I'm confident he'll develop into one of the best wing-backs in the business.

You´re a so funny and shit in the same second.

I dont think its unreasonable to suggest that a talented 19 year old could become one of the best full backs in the league at some point in his career.

This jinx is hilarious though.

I don't see what he's done to suggest he could become one of the best full backs in the world.

Because he's playing for the future Champions League winners. We only signed Carrick and Berbatov as we were scared of them winning the league. That's according to some of the posters on GloryGloryNet or whatever it's called

He;s only being groom at Spurs as he's joining Liverpool next season which translate to him being the best full back in the world...:D

Tottenham 2-1 Manchester City

Subs Not Used: Cudicini, Bale, Bentley, Chimbonda

I seriously think he should consider retirement.

Why couldn't Harry just bring him on for the last minutes?

Everytime I see this bumped I worry that he's finally won a game

He's saving it up for our last game of the season at Anfield: Bale to score the winner with a screamer from 30 yards ;)

How was Modric today Glaston?
Man of the match for me ... and currently ahead by a 2:1 ratio for today's game in the MoM poll we run on COYS after each game.

He is a clever player, very creative, with great vision and ball control ... really keeps us ticking over.

I have to say that Ireland for City was very impressive also. Would like to see him at Spurs but it won't happen.

 I was worried when I saw this bumped he'd played today.

Poor thing, I remember a lot of United fans begging Fergie to sign this kid.

If he'd come to us we would've brought him on slowly, and he would have had Rio and Vidic behind him to clean up his mistakes and give him a good bollocking.

Spurs have taken this long to get a somewhat healthy pairing of Woodgate and King to start to gel. They forced Lee Young Pyo out and were left in a bind when his replacement didn't pan out. Somebody at Tottenham thought they could just buy an expensive young talent and stick him straight in. As a result he had no one solid to play behind and learn the Premiership from. It's not like changing managers all the time is good for a young player either.

Poor kid. He's the victim of being overvalued by the idiots in charge of Tottenham's transfers.

Tottenham's record with Bale as an unused sub, anyone?

Premier League 08/09

When Bale is in the bench yet is not involved (13 games)
Win: 8
Draw: 3
Lose: 2
27 pts out of 39 possible (69%)

When Bale is not even in the bench (9 games)
Win: 6
Draw: 1
Lose: 2
19 pts out of 27 possible (70%)

When Bale is involved (15 games)
Win: 0
Draw: 5
Lose: 10
5 pts out of 45 possible (11%)

I can't believe he's going to take this record into a a THIRD PL season barring a victory against the scousers on Sunday.

Amazing.
